Save On Gaming Chairs With These Father's Day Sales
Amazon is currently offering discounts on select gaming chairs, including a few models with high-end features like built-in speakers, footrests, and additional lumbar support. Inventory is limited, and because some models are on sale at their lowest prices ever, they’re bound to sell out fast. Unfortunately, these chairs won’t ship in time for Father’s Day, but if you’re shopping for yourself (or someone patient), now is a great time to scoop up a budget gaming chair at a great low price.
GTRacing Gaming Chair with Footrest (Ocean Blue) $100 (was $180)This is the best price ever for the GTRacing Gaming Chair with Footrest. The discount only applies to the Ocean Blue version. It features a black and blue design with PU leather upholstery, a footrest, and pillows for added neck and lumbar support. Other notable features include a wide base with extra seat cushioning, a reclining backrest that can lean back up to 160 degrees, nylon wheel casters, and 3D armrests.
The GTRacing Gaming Chair with Speakers is also discounted. You’ll pay a bit more at $150 (was $200), but it’s a nice alternative that packs in most of the same features as the model with the footrest, and adds a pair of Bluetooth speakers that get around 6 hours of playback on a charge. It swaps out the blue and black color scheme for one that’s largely black, plus a few red accents.
See at Amazon GTRacing Gaming Office Chair (Black) $160 (was $260)This model features an unorthodox design that blurs the lines between furniture and a gaming chair, making it a good choice for a home office that doubles as a game room. Its flared backrest with high-density foam padding disperses pressure from your back and shoulders. It also features a retractable footrest, and the backrest can recline up to 135 degrees.
See at Amazon GTPlayer Gaming Chair (Black) $117 (was $190)If you prefer fabric chairs over leather, check out this GTPlayer Gaming Chair. Crafted with a soft cloth material that helps airflow and disperses heat, it’s a nice alternative to the many leather chairs on the market. This black edition also features grey accents along the edges and a stitched backrest that appears more premium than its price would suggest. Beyond that, you’re getting many of the standard gaming chair features--including a 165-degree reclining angle, a wide seat, and a weight capacity up to 300 pounds. Note that this model is discontinued, so this may be the last chance to grab it before it sells out.
See at Amazon Playseat Puma Active Gaming Chair $60 (was $170)The Puma Active Gaming Chair is more like a rocker than a desk chair, making it better suited for console gaming. You can lounge back in the seat or sit upright, but it’s too small for a typical PC gaming desk setup. Instead, you can toss it on the floor next to your big-screen TV. Featuring pockets for your accessories and a rocking base with rubber grips for added stability, it’s a pretty cool choice at this new low price. This deal is available through the Amazon-owned retailer Woot, which offers Prime members free standard shipping.

The Game That Made Everyone Cry At Summer Game Fest 2025
There were all kinds of games on display at Summer Game Fest 2025: scary games, thrilling games, funny games, but only one game was making everyone cry. I played a demo of the game alongside the developers, and I won't pretend otherwise: It messed me up, too. The incredibly moving experience came from my time with Out of Words, the debut from the creative team of Kong Orange and WiredFly. In speaking with the team, I was moved by their emotional maturity and thoughtfulness. Out of Words is an adorable co-op puzzle-platformer, but more than that, it's an exercise in heart-on-your-sleeve vulnerability.
"I am a bit of a romantic," game director Johan Oettinger told me, describing the relationship between the game's playable characters, Karla and Kurt. Typically, "they can talk about anything. But they find themselves in a moment in their relationship with something new in the air." But sadly, Oettinger added, "they can't find the words" to say how they feel. Out of Words is a coming-of-age love story about the things we want to say but don't know how.
Something is in the way of them being honest with each other, and that premise, combined with Oettinger's soft-spoken way of speaking about this game he clearly loves so much, was already getting me pretty misty before I even played. It was like I'd walked into a poetry reading where, by chance, a demo of a gorgeous, stop-motion animated video game was also taking place.

The Outer Worlds 2's game director has reacted to Microsoft's decision to price the RPG at $80. Brandon Adler said in an interview that Obsidian did not set the price for the game, adding that anyone bothered by the price point should take their concerns to Microsoft.
"We're a game developer. We love to make games. We don't set the prices for our games," he said in an interview with GamesRadar. "Like, personally, as a game developer, I wish everybody could play my game, because that's what I want out of this whole thing. But for the reasons and so like, why the $79.99 price point, you'd have to honestly talk to the Xbox folks."
The Outer Worlds 2 is Microsoft's first $80 game, but it wasn't a total surprise, given that Microsoft had said it would begin charging $80 for some games in 2025. Microsoft also raised prices on Xbox consoles.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater looks like it'll be a faithful remake of Snake Eater, but it won't be all gloom and doom in this Cold War-era tale of espionage and betrayal. During the Konami Press Start showcase, the company announced that a goofier side of Metal Gear Solid will return, as the Secret Theater bonus feature will be included in the upcoming game. Not only will it feature all of the classic cutscenes from Snake Eater, but several new ones have been created for it as well.
If you're unfamiliar with it, Secret Theater was originally an unlockable extra in Snake Eater that reimagined the endings to several cutscenes. These ranged from Snake causing a time paradox to legendary sniper The End falling in love with Eva, and the videos were originally only made for the eyes of Snake Eater's production team.
These short clips were eventually placed on the official Snake Eater website, and several more were created thanks to them being popular with fans. The original videos will be found as collectibles inside the game, and for the new Secret Theater videos, players will have to track down enemy soldiers carrying rolls of film on their uniforms.

MindsEye, the new action game from former Rockstar veteran Leslie Benzies' new studio, launched this week but left a lot to be desired due to technical and performance issues. Now, developer Build a Rocket Boy has outlined what it's doing to try to improve the experience.
In a statement, the developer thanked fans for their support and feedback thus far, but added that the studio is "heartbroken that not every player was able to experience the game as we intended."
"Our priority is optimizing performance and stability so that every player, across every device, can enjoy an equally high-quality experience," the studio said. "Our teams have worked tirelessly throughout the night to solve many of these issues, and we have now identified that the vast majority of crashes were caused by a memory leak."

A new Silent Hill game is in development, as Konami has announced that the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team, will be remaking the very first game in the series. The reveal came at the end of the Konami Press Start Live showcase, as a short video was played and featured background music from the game. In a press release, Konami confirmed that it is the 1999 game being remade, and on social media, the company referenced an infamous quote from the game:
The Fear Of Blood Tends To Create Fear For The Flesh...#SILENTHILL pic.twitter.com/6XTn1xyXbV
— KONAMI UK (@KONAMIUK) June 12, 2025The original Silent Hill gave fans of survival-horror an alternative to Capcom's Resident Evil games. While it featured similar survival-horror themes, Silent Hill's deep focus on psychological terror made it stand out, and its sequel is still highly regarded as one of the best games of all time.
The franchise has made a big return, as in addition to Bloober Team's critically acclaimed remake of Silent Hill 2, a brand-new game in the series will launch in September. Silent Hill F marks a big departure from previous games, as it shifts from the titular town of Silent Hill to Japan. The game will also focus heavily on Japanese horror, as it combines grotesque creatures pulled from local folklore with beautiful imagery.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater recently debuted a new trailer that teased the return of Metal Gear Online. During today's Konami Direct Showcase, the new online multiplayer mode was officially announced as Fox Hunt. However, it won't simply be a rehash of MGO.
During Konami's presentation, Fox Hunt director Yu Sahara described it as "camouflage and hide-and-go-seek to the next level," before adding that players will have the choice of remaining hidden with their advanced camo or attempting to find their own hidden foes. He added that it shares the same world as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, but the gameplay will be "completely different."
Metal Gear Online was originally released in 2008 alongside Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. While Sahara acknowledged the similarities between Fox Hunt and MGO, he added that the former "will be its own new type of mode" because the online landscape has drastically changed since changed since MGO in Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid V.
Continue Reading at GameSpotBlumhouse Games Wants To Make Its Horror Lineup As Diverse As Its Movies
Last year, the horror film titans at Blumhouse announced a video games label and brought its first game as a publisher, Fear The Spotlight, to Summer Game Fest. I eventually reviewed that one and found it to be a worthy entry-level horror game. It was creepy, but not overly scary, and made for a reasonable gateway into the genre for younger or less experienced players. At Summer Game Fest 2025, Blumhouse showed off two more games that, while perhaps not specifically for beginners, do well to express Blumhouse Games' publishing vision.
Grave Seasons and Crisol: Theater of Idols are each horror games, but couldn't be more different otherwise. The former is 2D, the latter is 3D. Grave Seasons is presented in third-person, while Crisol is played in first-person. Grave Seasons is also a dark twist on farming sims, whereas Crisol blends elements of recent Resident Evil games with BioShock, all set in a world inspired by Spanish art and folklore. Blumhouse brought these two games to Summer Game Fest 2025, giving me a preview of what's to come from a publisher that is technically still in its infancy, but also carries the name recognition and reputation of one of modern horror's biggest brands.
In the movie world, it feels like one out of every two horror films displays Blumhouse's logo in their opening moments. While I'm sure that's not literally true, it's certainly the case that the production company has its hands in all kinds of horror productions, from major series like The Conjuring and Paranormal Activity to legendary one-offs like Get Out and 2020's remake of The Invisible Man. The prospect of the company getting into horror video games is an exciting one for me, as I hope the publisher can use a keen eye to lift notable projects out of obscurity.
Continue Reading at GameSpotPragmata Hands-On: Juggling Gunplay And Puzzles Gets Surprisingly Tense
Pragmata feels like an instance of parallel thinking with Helldivers 2. Last year's hit multiplayer game was lauded for lots of reasons, but not least because of its strategems mechanic--demanding you input a complex series of button presses in the heat of combat. Pragmata, the third-person single-player shooter from Capcom, probably wasn't directly inspired by that game, but they represent similar approaches. Central to Pragmata's combat is the ability to hack your robotic opponents to make them vulnerable to attack, which in practice means frantically inputting buttons while androids bear down on you. It's a neat hook, and one that feels distinct from Helldivers' take thanks to its own puzzle format.
Hacking requires navigating across a square grid--at least, every one I saw was square--with the controller's face buttons representing the cardinal directions to move toward the goal. So if your starting point is in the top-left corner of a 3x3 grid, and the goal node is center-right, you could hit X, Circle, Circle to reach the goal and take down the enemy defenses, after which they're vulnerable to attack. The puzzle interface pops up next to enemies automatically when you aim down sights, so you're still moving and even able to shoot while solving the puzzle, requiring some tense mental juggling.
But the hacking puzzles are further complicated by special nodes--power-ups that stack if you pass through them, and blocks that you need to navigate around. The puzzles are also another way to differentiate the difficulty of enemies. Small buzzing flyers had the 3x3 grid, while larger humanoid walkers had 4x4 grids. I would imagine even larger enemies or bosses could expand the grid size even more.

After initial delays, 7 Days To Die is finally getting a major update later this month, adding a greater challenge to survival. The 2.0 Storm's Brewing update adds deadly storms and new enemy types, and it makes biomes harsher to survive. Here's everything you need to know about the 7 Days To Die 2.0 Storm's Brewing update, including how to watch early gameplay and join the beta build.
Storm's Brewing makes major environmental changesThe 2.0 Storm's Brewing update adds a new layer to survival. The zombies won't be the only threat players need to fear, as the update adds new dynamic weather to survive. Each biome will have its own unique storm, and each one will feature a different scale of difficulty to survive. These are deadly and only give players a short amount of time to seek or build shelter before they start taking damage.
The Fun Pimps showcased some of these environmental changes during a developer stream on June 10, which included a reveal of the snow biome's blizzard-like dynamic storm. It also discussed the environmental changes coming to the biomes.

MindsEye seems to be off to a rocky start, and we're not talking about the game's setting of Red Rock. For some players, including on PS5, they're unhappy enough with the action-adventure game's performance to ask for refunds. Apparently, Sony is granting these requests, at least so far.
Spotted by TheGamer, a Reddit post by a PS5 owner claims that MindsEye players on that platform are guaranteed a refund (if they want one) because PlayStation Support said it was aware of the game's optimization issues and are investigating the situation. Additionally, a person going by Wolfgang on X shared what appears to be a PS5 refund message from Sony. It states that: "Usually, we are not allowed to process refunds for games that were downloaded because of the PlayStation Store cancellation policy." But since this player was supposedly having issues with MindsEye, it was granted.
Playstation support have refunded the game with zero issues and said they're "aware of this games optimisation and are investigating the situation", the only other game they've EVER said this for was cyberpunk 2077,which was delisted for 6 months...byu/MasterOfMoogles1995 inMindsEye
As such, the MindsEye situation has seen people calling back to late 2020 when Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PlayStation Store because of technical issues with the game. Meanwhile, MindsEye developer Build a Rocket Boy has noted it's "working around the clock" to fix performance problems and patch the game.

FIFA Rivals combines "high-energy arcade gameplay" with team-building strategy elements, as players can take part in PvP matches and become a manager of sorts and build out their squad. The game also sports a "Super Mode" that adds "boosts and abilities" to help get an edge on the pitch.

When I was first asked to check out Spine at Summer Game Fest 2025, I hadn't heard of it yet. I looked it up on Steam and thought it looked pretty rad, so I booked an appointment, though I also expected it would kick my butt. Sometimes that's the job, and that's okay. I compared it to Sifu in my mind, which I always found to be really difficult. However, once I got to go hands-on with it, I found it's more like a Batman Arkham game in terms of its combat gameplay. Those familiar mechanics helped me look stylish and deadly in my demo, and put Spine on my radar ahead of its launch next year.
Spine comes from Nekki, a team that has previously developed mobile games, including the popular Shadow Fight series. Even Spine originally began as a mobile game, but as the project grew and took on a different shape, the team realized it had an opportunity to make its debut on PC and consoles. Inspired by the career works of John Woo and other stylish action movies, Spine is a "gun-fu" combat game in a cyberpunk setting with a simple story setup.
In it, you play as Redline, a character whose physical look is so cool in my opinion that it got me to book the demo. The punky street artist's origin story is much like John Wick's, though instead of a dead dog, it's her kidnapped brother who compels her to get into ass-kicking mode. The 15-20 hour game is said to start small in terms of Redline's motivation and increase the stakes from there. What she expects is a personal quest to save her brother soon pulls her into a criminal underworld of AI overlords and corrupt people in power across the colorful but troubled city.

Stellar Blade is off to a strong start on PC, as it has blown past the 100,000-concurrent-players milestone on Steam. Only one other PlayStation-published game has reached and surpassed this number, as Helldivers 2 still holds the record of 458,709 concurrent players.
At the time of writing, Stellar Blade has reached 147,996 concurrent players, and to put that into perspective, that's more than The Last of Us Part 2, God of War Ragnarok, and Horizon Forbidden West combined when comparing peak player-counts. At one point, it looked like the player-count for Stellar Blade would be negatively impacted due to an unknown issue that prevented it from being sold in dozens of countries, but that problem was addressed before launch.
If you're interested in trying out this action-RPG, a Stellar Blade demo is available on Steam. You can also get a big discount on the game through Fanatical, as both the Standard and Complete Editions have been discounted. The PC version of the game includes all post-launch content added to the PS5 version since its launch in 2024, and new content like Goddess of Victory: Nikke DLC is also available to purchase.

In 2018, as part of the promotion for Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos was added to Fortnite, complete with the Infinity Gauntlet and some dance moves that would make John Travolta blush. But it may not have ever happened if Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo hadn't directly lobbied Epic Games to bring Thanos into the world of Fortnite.
During The Game Business Live, Pete Wanat--the president of interactive technology for the Russos' AGBO--revealed that Epic's former chief creative officer, Donald Mustard, wasn't initially on board with having Thanos in Fortnite. That's why Anthony and Joe Russo spent hours convincing him go forward with it.
"Originally it was like, 'No, we are not interested in putting outside characters into Fortnite,'" recalled Wanat. "And Joe and Anthony got together and had a phone call with Donald. It was supposed to be a half-hour call, but five-and-a-half hours later, they were still talking about it. And Donald basically changed his mind. He said, 'Hey, you know what, we're going to do this.' And after that, the world exploded about what kind of integrations you could have between film and TV and games."

Charles Martinet--once the voice actor for one of gaming's most iconic characters and now Nintendo's official Mario Ambassador--has had to clarify his stance on voicing Mario for fans. After a viral post claimed Martinet was no longer allowed to do Mario's voice, Martinet posted to explain that he simply won't improvise lines for Mario.
After meeting with Martinet at a convention, YouTuber Ricky Berwick posted to X claiming the actor "wasn't even allowed to do the voice of Mario or any of his iconic character's voices." In the replies, another user posted a similar story claiming Martinet couldn't do the voice because he was "under a contract." Berwick later clarified in a reply to his original post that Martinet did the Mario voice for him off camera, but "wasn't allowed to" on video.
While fans were concerned about the possibility of a restrictive contract with Nintendo, Martinet replied to the post directly, explaining that what he will and won't voice for fans at conventions is due to his own choices.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of the best games in the last console generation, but it has yet to appear on a Nintendo system. However, that may change later this year as a new report suggests that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not only coming to Switch 2, but may also be getting a modern console update.
YouTube creator Nate the Hate was the first to report that Switch 2's Red Dead Redemption 2 port will arrive alongside an update that improves the game on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. RDR 2 has previously been playable on both consoles through backwards compatibility. Nate the Hate suggests that RDR 2 will hit Switch 2 and the other consoles later this summer or in the fall.
Last month, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors that he is "a big believer" in Switch 2, but he stopped short of confirming any plans to bring Rockstar's games to the system. Rockstar previously ported the original Red Dead Redemption to PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023. That game celebrated its 15th anniversary earlier this year.
