Don't Get Your Hopes Up About Xbox Ports For Horizon Zero Dawn And Other Sony Games
The console wars have reached a point where it's no longer uncommon for some of the biggest Xbox games to get a cross-platform release on PS5. A small handful of PlayStation 5 titles have also gone to Xbox Series X|S. But if you were hoping that meant games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Ghost of Tsushima were next in line for Xbox releases then you might be disappointed.
A user on Reddit found a listing for Horizon Zero Dawn on the German Xbox Store. And it's not the only Sony title to appear there. Unfortunately, as pointed out by other Reddit users, this appears to be an indexing mistake by Google rather than Microsoft. Even some Nintendo games are listed on the Xbox Store because of that error.
Regardless, porting games from PS5 to Xbox Series X|S may not be a bad idea. It's worked wonders for Helldivers 2, and dramatically driven up the number of players in the game. In short, it made Helldivers 2 an even bigger hit. Sony also shares MLB The Show with other platforms thanks to agreements made with Major League Baseball. However, Sony is under no such obligation to bring any of its top franchises to the competition.

Physint is one of veteran game developer Hideo Kojima's next projects, and a first look at the PlayStation exclusive was revealed during the Kojima Productions anniversary livestream. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Kojima Productions unveiled the official poster for the stealth-action game, which is aiming to be a spiritual successor to Kojima's Metal Gear Solid franchise.
While the poster only provides a glimpse of the game's protagonist--who is cloaked in shadows--it also revealed the "here comes the feeling" tagline for this project. Kojima teased that Physint will offer the "next stage of tactical espionage action," and it will feature graphics that will "break the barrier" between movies and games.
PhysintThree of the actors who will appear in the game were also revealed: Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Don Lee (Marvel's Eternals), and Minami Hamabe (Godzilla: Minus One) will all be in the game as various characters. To tease just how advanced the visuals will be, Kojima showed off Hamabe's CG-rendered character facial model, which revealed an impressive amount of realistic detail.

This week's Beyond the Strand presentation debuted a first look at the Death Stranding anime set in Hideo Kojima's world of mass extinction events and lethal rainfall. Currently in production under the working title of Death Stranding: Mosquito, the teaser trailer for the movie showed off a brutal brawl and highly stylized animation.
In typical Death Stranding fashion, the trailer raised more questions than answers as it suggested that the two individuals--one of whom is dressed in the same gear worn by game protagonist Sam Porter Bridges--are Repatriates. Functionally immortal, Repatriates can survive death after they reconnect their soul to their human body through the purgatory-like realm of the Seam.
Beyond that, it appears that the film draws considerable inspiration from the games. The fight unfolds during a bout of Timefall, and one of the characters is wearing a mask with a mosquito-like proboscis that appears to be made from the tar-like substance that Beached Things are coated in. There's also a BT dog of sorts, with hands for a face. Yup, this is definitely a Death Stranding project.

The Last of Us Season 2's Limited Edition Steelbook is up for grabs for $35 (was $45) at Amazon ahead of the HBO show's 4K Blu-ray release tomorrow, September 23. Amazon is the only retailer offering the $10 discount. The Steelbook Edition is currently priced at $40 at Walmart and Gruv. If you're interested in owning the collectible 4K Blu-ray edition of Season 2, it's not a bad idea to snag a copy soon, seeing as the Steelbook Edition for Season 1, which launched in March, now sells for rather high prices on the reseller market. Plus, Season 2's 4K Steelbook is the same price as the standard 4K edition.
The Last of Us Season 2 Limited Edition Steelbook (4K Blu-ray) $35 (was $45) | Releases September 23The Last of Us Season 2's Limited Edition Steelbook features promotional photography of Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) with Cordyceps fungus forming a moth--like Ellie's tattoo--in the background. The interior artwork shows Ellie surrounded by a horde of people who have succumbed to the Cordyceps fungus.
The three-disc set includes all seven episodes of Season 2 in native 4K (2160p) resolution and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. The infected's growls and the unsettling calling card of Clickers should sound pretty unnerving with Dolby Atmos audio and 7.1 lossless surround sound.
All 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions of The Last of Us Season 2 have the same bonus features, most of which originally aired on HBO Max. There are two brand-new exclusive bonus features, though. One is called Ellie's Ultimate Revenge and explores Ellie's motivations throughout Season 2. The other new bonus featurette is Beneath the Surface: The Visual FX of The Last of Us, a deep dive into the props, special effects, and backdrops from the show.
The Last of Us Season 2 Bonus Features:
- Ellie's Ultimate Revenge (New)
- Beneath the Surface: The Visual FX of The Last of Us (New)
- Growing the World of The Last of Us
- Welcome to Jackson set tour
- Joel's Journey to Season 2
- Ellie's Journey to Season 2
- Q&A with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey
- Battle of Jackson, Deconstructed
- Open Book: Isabela & Young Mazino
- Mushroom Taste Test
- 4 Character featurettes: Joel, Ellie, Abby, Dina
- 7 "Making of" featurettes (Episodes 1-7)
The Last of Us Season 2 is also getting standard editions on 4K Blu-ray, 1080p Blu-ray, and DVD. The 4K standard edition is $35 at Amazon and Walmart, so unless you dislike steelbook cases, you might as well grab the Limited Edition while it's on sale for the same price.
The 1080p Blu-ray version is available for $30, while the DVD edition is $25.
Standard editions at Amazon:
- 4K Blu-ray -- $35 ($40)
- Blu-ray -- $30 ($35)
- DVD -- $25 ($30)
Standard editions at Walmart:
- 4K Blu-ray -- $35 ($40)
- Blu-ray -- $30 ($35)

The Last of Us Season 2 continued HBO's largely faithful adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game franchise. While Season 1 had nine episodes, Season 2 only had seven. The new season adapted a portion of The Last of Us Part II, though it was largely told from Ellie's perspective. Season 3 is expected to flip the script and follow Abby, the other playable character from the second game.

The best processor for PC gaming is on sale for $49 off at Amazon. The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is up for grabs for $430 (was $479). Amazon doesn't list an end date for the discount, but considering the popularity of the high-performing 3D V-Cache CPU, it probably won't be available to purchase for $430 for long. The 9800X3D has been one of the best-selling CPUs on Amazon since its release last November. It has earned top-notch reviews from critics and customers alike.
Amazon estimates orders placed today (September 22) will arrive anywhere from two weeks to a month from now.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU $430 (was $479)The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is one of the newest in the burgeoning line of 3D V-Cache CPUs, with each one proving to be an essential part of an enthusiast-gaming PC. It was the first to feature AMD's 2nd-generation 3D V-Cache technology, with AMD saying that the 9800X3D is, on average, 8% faster than the previous generation's 7800X3D, which itself was widely viewed as the best CPU on the market for gaming.
The 9800X3D has a base clock speed of 4.7GHz, with a boost to 5.2GHz and a TDP of 120W. It was the first X3D chip with overclocking, allowing enthusiasts to squeeze even more out of the silicon with meaningful tweaks. The processing cores were redesigned using AMD's Zen 5 architecture. In addition to top-notch gaming performance, the 8-core, 16-thread CPU offers a marked improvement in productivity performance.
See at AmazonThe 9800X3D is the fastest gaming CPU on the market today. Earlier this year, AMD released a pair of Ryzen 9 3D V-Cache CPUs that have similarly robust specs, just with more of a productivity focus over gaming. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D is available for $588 at Amazon, while the more popular 9950X3D is priced at $664 (was $699). But if you're looking for a gaming processor for a high-end rig, the 9800X3D is the best option on the AMD side.

X-Men: Blue & Gold - Mutant Genesis
$139.50 (was $150 | Releases September 30
Preorder at AmazonThe early '90s is arguably the peak of X-Men comic books, as this was when the series was setting new sales records and establishing itself as Marvel's biggest IP. Anyone looking to revisit this age of blockbuster sales and extreme storylines can preorder the upcoming X-Men: Blue and Gold - Mutant Genesis, which launches for $139.50 on September 30. This is a massive hardcover omnibus that collects over 1,000 pages of iconic X-Men storylines from the 1980s and 1990s.
X-Men: Blue & Gold - Mutant Genesis $139.50 (was $150 | Releases September 30Primarily written by the prolific Chris Claremont and featuring a stacked roster of artists, X-Men: Blue and Gold is a mammoth 1,360 pages in size, so you're going to get a great workout from holding this book. It collects several X-Men series together, as well as tie-in comic books like Ghost Rider, Marvel Comics Presents, and a few annuals. During the '90s, the X-Men had split into two teams--Blue and Gold--so that they could better respond to threats across the globe. Cyclops would lead the Blue squad, while Storm took command of the Gold team, and both units took on enemies like Omega Red, Mojo, and their archnemesis, Magneto.
Two spin-off teams--X-Factor and X-Force--also featured in these tales, while other famous faces from across the Marvel Universe would often appear to lend a hand. After all, who better to fend off the Xenomorph-like Brood than the Spirit of Vengeance, Ghost Rider?
Here's a look at all the issues in X-Men: Blue & Gold - Mutant Genesis:
- X-Men (1991) #1-16
- X-Men Annual (1992) #1
- Uncanny X-Men (1981) #281-297
- Uncanny X-Men Annual (1992) #16
- Ghost Rider (1990) #26-27
- X-Factor (1986) #84-86
- X-Force (1991) #16-18
- Stryfe's Strike File #1
- Materials from X-Factor Annual #7, X-Force Annual #1, Marvel Comics Presents (1989) #89, and X-Men: Odd Men Out
Several more X-Men omnibus editions and graphic novels are scheduled to be released throughout the year. For the modern era, X-Men: Age Of Krakoa - Dawn Of X is another major highlight, and the first chunk of it is being collected into an even bigger 1,400-page omnibus on September 30. The Krakoan Age saw the establishment of a mutant nation on the sentient island of Krakoa, leading to a new status quo in the Marvel Universe.
Tired of being hunted, Marvel's mutants banded together to create their own refuge and sanctuary, while also establishing themselves as a political powerhouse for their kid.
This $139.50 (was $150) omnibus collects dozens of X-Men comics in total, including:
- X-Men (2019) #1-7
- X-Force (2019) #1-8
- Marauders (2019) #1-8
- Excalibur (2019) #1-8
- Fallen Angels (2019) #1-6
- New Mutants (2019) #1-7
- Material from Wolverine (2020) #1
- Wolverine (2020) #2-3
- Giant-Size X-Men: Jean Grey and Emma Frost
The second volume is also on the way, and it'll be released on March 17, 2026. Clocking in at 1,336 pages in size, Volume 2 sees the covert X-Force team take on a major threat, Britain goes to war with Krakoa, X-Factor is formed to investigate the deaths of mutants, and Mister Sinister creates his own team of Hellions to stir up some trouble.
Preorder at AmazonWhile X-Men comics weren't initially best-sellers, the team did see a resurgence in the '70s and a steady growth in popularity throughout the '80s, culminating in their rise to the top at Marvel Comics. The flagship series for the publisher, the comic books would break several sales records in 1990 and 1991 during a time when comic book creators and artists were the main selling point behind a series. X-Men continued to be popular throughout the decade, but with Marvel facing bankruptcy during that turbulent period, several comic book superstars leaving to form their own publishing company, and the comic book bubble burst, the good times sadly came to an end for a few years.
The influence of the series even made its way to Japan, as the Saturday morning cartoon show was adapted into a best-selling manga. This has been out of print for decades, but earlier this year, Viz Media and Marvel launched X-Men: The Manga Remastered. The first paperback volume is on sale for $17.30 (was $25) and the second volume is just $15.30 (was $30). Combined, that's over 1,000 pages of X-Men manga for just $32, covering the first season of X-Men: The Animated Series.

If you're interested in checking out the cult-classic manga, it's getting a two-volume Deluxe Edition reprinting from Dark Horse Books in 2026. When he's suddenly released from prison, he embarks on an investigation into who is responsible for his imprisonment that soon turns into a bitter quest for revenge.
Oldboy (4K Blu-ray) $37If you'd like to check out the manga's live-action adaptations, Park Chan-wook's 2003 film is also available in 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray versions. While some details differ between the manga and the film--such as the protagonist's name being changed to Oh Dae-su, and his time in prison extended from 10 years in the manga to 15 in the film, and certain characters being changed or omitted entirely--the core story is kept intact. The movie is also more violent--and more disturbing--than the manga, with some stomach-churning twists.
The 4K Blu-ray version features a 4K restoration of the film supervised by Chan-wook, and it's loaded with a stack of bonus features, including a documentary, several audio commentary tracks, deleted scenes, interviews with the cast and crew, and more. Here's a look at the full list of bonus materials:
- Archival audio commentary tracks with director Park Chan-wook, cinematographer Jung Jung-hoon, and actors Choi Min-sik, Yu Ji-tae, and Kang Hye-jung
- New audio commentary track with film critic Jasper Sharp and writer Simon Ward
- Out of the Past retrospective featurette
- Deleted scenes with optional director's commentary
- 11 behind-the-scenes featurettes
- Cast and crew interviews
- Theatrical trailers

You can also pick up a standard Blu-ray edition of Oldboy, which contains all of the same special features and the excellent audio-visual restoration as the 4K edition.
See at Amazon Oldboy (Blu-ray) $8.34 (was $15)Oldboy was eventually remade in the US several years later, but this attempt is regarded as the black sheep of the series. While Josh Brolin puts in a decent performance in the Spike Lee-directed film, it ultimately fails to reach the bar set by the Korean movie and the manga. Still, if you want to grab it, the Blu-ray is just $8 right now (was $15).

Dark Horse has been reprinting several popular manga series in a deluxe edition format, and they all share features like oversized page formats, higher-quality materials, and covers that make them feel like deluxe tomes. You can't go wrong with the dark fantasy of the Berserk series, and Vinland Saga is a thought-provoking saga about revenge and redemption that'll make you ponder the destructive cycle of violence. The creator of Vinland Saga's first manga, Planetes, has also gotten the deluxe reprint treatment, and this switches gears from ancient Nordic lands to the far future for a sci-fi tale about the challenges of space travel.

See at Amazon Toy Story: Rocket Rescue Buzz Lightyear $30 (was $39)
Buzz Lightyear is arguably the most toyetic of the Toy Story characters, and one of his best figures is a recreation of the rocket rescue scene from Toy Story. This version of Buzz comes with a--non-functioning, thankfully--rocket strapped to his back, and you can hear movie phrases and rocket sounds when you push his chest buttons. He can also strike a pose, and his space ranger suit has a removable visor so that you can see his winning smile.
See at Amazon Toy Story Blu-rays $9 - $30Finally, you can go back to the very beginning with Toy Story on Blu-ray. All four of the main movies have gotten 4K Blu-ray releases over the years, and the original film is just $24 right now instead of its usual $35 price. While the movie visuals might be dated by today's standards, there's still a charm to them and the 4K version is decently upscaled from the original Blu-ray release. You're also getting a healthy amount of bonus features on the included standard Blu-ray disc, like audio commentary with Toy Story's crew, several informative documentaries, deleted scenes, and design galleries.
The sequels follow the same pattern--these all come with standard Blu-ray discs loaded with supplemental features and a digital streaming code--so you're getting an extended tour behind the scenes on each movie. If you'd like to get all of them in one go, all four films are available in a Toy Story box set on standard Blu-ray, which also comes with DVD copies and what we'd guess are expired digital streaming codes by now. Each movie also includes its respective bonus materials.
If you really want to flesh out the collection, you can also pick up the Toy Story spin-offs currently available on Blu-ray and DVD. Toy Story: That Time Forgot sees the gang facing off against dangerously delusional action figures, and Toy Story of Terror is a Halloween story set in a roadside motel.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide's latest update will continue to flesh out developer Fatshark's Left 4 Dead-like, expanding the game's Mortis Trials mode while also adding a new enemy type, additional weapons, and more.
The free Bound by Duty update will go live September 23 for all platforms, and brings some significant additions. As detailed in a Fatshark blog, the bulk of the new content is for Mortis Trials, Darktide's wave-based roguelike mode. There will be a new arena, the Theatre of Rectitude, where players can test their mettle, as well as new Indulgence archetypes that will offer new combat styles for players to experiment with. Additional Memory Echoes added to the mode will expand on NPC backstories to reveal more about the game's cast of characters and the history of the ship that serves as the game's hub, the Mourningstar.
While the Mortis Trial additions make up a large chunk of the update, there's plenty new for players who prefer the game's mission-based gameplay. A new weapon for the Veteran, the Power Falchion, will work similarly to the Zealot's Relic Blade, allowing players to empower the weapon until it overheats. There will also be new Mark variants of the Bolt Pistol and Boltgun, both of which emphasize explosive damage.

After a month of speculation, it turns out that the big monolith up in the mountains on the Fortnite Battle Royale island is, in fact, a teaser for a major new Daft Punk event that starts on Friday, September 27. It's not a live event that you 'll have to show up for at a specific time, but rather an "experience" through which you'll explore Daft Punk's music in an interactive way, similar to the Soundwave Series that Fortnite used to do.
Update 11:30 AM PT: For whatever reason, Epic has scrubbed its news post announcing the event as well as related social media posts. It's not clear at all why this has happened, but since they left up their social posts teasing the collab from over the weekend, it's probably not because the event was canceled. It's more likely that the announcement was scheduled for the wrong day or time, or had some major error, but without any comment from Epic we don't really know anything.
These are the upcoming Fortnite Daft Punk skins. In addition to the musical experience, the item shop will be adding a Daft Punk bundle on September 25 that includes a pair of skins that include multiple distinctive style options, as well as well as elements that react to music. The set of cosmetics bundled with the skins will also include a double-neck guitar-and-bass instrument, emotes for the songs Around the World and Get Lucky, and a jam track for Get Lucky. And beyond that, we're getting three other Daft Punk jam tracks: Instant Crush ft Julian Casablancas, and The Weeknd's Starboy and I Feel It Coming, which both feature Daft Punk.

Despite saying that it wasn't planning to have any more playtests for Arc Raiders, it looks like developer Embark Studios is ready to recruit people for one more weekend of action in its extraction shooter. The studio will host a Server Slam Open Test from October 17-19 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it's aiming to stress-test its servers before the game officially launches later this month.
This open weekend will allow players to explore the Dam Battlegrounds and experience "elements of progression and crafting" while completing a set of quests, Embark Studios said. One thing to note here is that progress will not carry over from the Slam Test, but participating players will unlock an exclusive backpack cosmetic for the full game.
This will be open to everyone aged 16 and older, so you won't need a download key or an invite to get an early taste of Arc Raiders.

Steam Game Update Reportedly Distributed Malware And Stole Money From Cancer Victim
Valve has previously implemented security measures on Steam to protect players from malware and bad actors. However, it appears another instance of malware being distributed via a Steam game update has occurred, and it may have had dire consequences for at least one player.
According to G Data, the 2D side-scrolling game BlockBlasters had an update on August 30 that included malware that can steal personal information from any PC that the game is running on. More insidiously, this malware can empty crypto wallet data, and it reportedly did so to streamer rastalandTV, who is currently battling stage 4 cancer and was hosting a charity livestream.
RastalandTV shared his story on X about losing $32,000 in creator fees after being coaxed to download the infected game on Steam. He posted a video from his stream where he noticed what happened as a cautionary tale.
