Are you excited to look for Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A? These creatures are the rarest of the rare, with unique color palettes that are vastly different from the usual variants. Naturally, finding them is no easy task, though there are a few exceptions.

For the most part, Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A tend to be extremely rare, as was the case in previous games in the series. If you really want to find one, then you should keep your eyes peeled when exploring Lumiose City, especially Wild Zones.

Wild Zones are specific parts of the city where you can capture Pokemon that are roaming around. The further you are in the campaign, the more Wild Zones become available, and each one has at least five species that you can catch. One of these spawns might turn out to be a Shiny, though it's not always guaranteed.

All 19 New Lego Holiday 2025 Sets Available Now

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 10:34

Every year, Lego launches a new batch of special holiday-themed sets, and the 2025 lineup is now live. The kits include special edition variants of previously-released sets, such as the gingerbread-themed Star Wars AT-AT Walker, as well as festive Christmas sets like the North Pole Post Office diorama, and returning favorites like the Lego Santa's Sleigh and Christmas Tree figures. There's also a new selection of Lego Advent Calendars, each of which includes 25 mini builds based on popular Lego lines like Star Wars, Minecraft, and more. All together, there are 19 Lego Holiday sets available now, and we've rounded them all up in the list below. Most are exclusive to Lego's online store, but a few can be found at other retailers like Amazon and Walmart.

Lego Star Wars: Gingerbread AT-AT Walker (697 pieces) $60

Capable of serving as a playset or piece of holiday decor, the Gingerbread AT-AT Walker is one of the quirkiest sets on this list. It's exactly what it sounds like--a massive AT-AT that's been redesigned with a gingerbread coat of paint, featuring candy canes, blocks that mimic holiday lights, and other details that look like icing. Its legs are posable and there's an opening cockpit, and you'll even get a Gingerbread Darth Vader minifigure as a bonus.

See at Lego Store Lego Snowman Ornaments (168 pieces) $13

If you want two fun little ornaments for your tree, this set is hard to pass up. You'll get to build two distinct snowmen--one featuring a top hat and carrying a present, the other in a winter hat with a lantern. A circular ornament hanger sits above their hats, making it easy to display them in your home. It looks like a good choice for families with young children, as parents can build one as their kids build the other.

See at Lego Store Lego Christmas Ornament Selection Building Toys (153 pieces) $13

While the above set lets you build two snowmen ornaments, this one features four ornaments with more traditional designs. They're essentially 2D versions of Santa, a reindeer, a snowman, and a gift, all placed on circular backgrounds that are easy to hang on your tree.

See at Amazon See at Lego Store Lego Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure (761 pieces) $55

There's nothing mini about this minifigure, which stands over 10.5 inches tall. However, it features the same poseable limbs as a minifigure, with moving arms and legs that can put Santa in a standing or sitting position. Beyond that, the massive minifigure is dressed to look like good ol' Chris Kringle, with a massive white beard and red jumpsuit.

See at Lego Store Lego Festive Gingerbread House (498 pieces) $40

If you'd rather forgo the mess that is building a gingerbread house, consider this Lego Gingerbread House instead. When it's closed, you'll have a gingerbread house for display--but open it up, and it becomes a tiny playset. Inside are a few rooms featuring a desk, fireplace, and bedroom, plus a Santa minifigure.

See at Lego Store Lego Holiday Express Train (956 pieces) $130

Packed with four minifigures, 16 pieces to form a circular railroad track, and several train cars, this Lego train set is designed for experienced builders. The train can be pushed around the track or combined with the Lego Powered Up Kit to automatically motorize the device. You're also free to leave out some of the track pieces, making the set smaller and easier to display on a shelf or table.

See at Lego Store Lego Family Christmas Tree (3,171 pieces) $330

The Family Christmas Tree might be the coolest of the new Lego sets. Standing 19 inches tall and featuring over 3,000 pieces, it looks like it'll make a festive centerpiece for a dining room or living space. Along with looking great, there are a few hidden panels that flip open to reveal a variety of rooms--including a kitchen, control room, workshop, and arcade. There are also figures for Santa, Cataclaws, Mrs. Claus, a reindeer, a snowman, reindeer "cuddly toys," and five elves.

See at Lego Store Lego Countdown to Christmas Puzzles $25

This one is a bit different. It's not a traditional Lego set--instead, it's a 12-day advent calendar featuring a variety of different jigsaw puzzles. There are no minifigures inside, but for fans of jigsaw puzzles who are also Lego fanatics, it could make a fun gift at just $25.

See at Amazon See at Lego Store Lego Christmas Tree (784 pieces) $45

This isn't quite as new as the Family Christmas Tree--but at $45, it's a much more reasonable option. It stands over 9 inches tall, comes with a bunch of ornaments and candle decorations, and there's a buildable base to help you show off the creation. Alternatively, you can build two smaller trees with this set--giving you a chance to spread out the decor.

See at Amazon See at Lego Store Lego Santa's Sleigh (343 pieces) $37.49 (was $40)

Made for younger builders, the Santa's Sleigh playset features just 343 bricks and includes four reindeer figures, a Santa minifigure, and tons of accessories. The sleigh can be packed with most of these accessories, though there's also a carrot and a pretzel accessory--in case either Santa or his reindeer get hungry.

See at Amazon See at Lego Store Lego Santa's Post Office (1,440 pieces) $100

Piece together a bustling version of Santa's Post Office, complete with minifigures for four elves and Santa himself. The whole set includes not just the post office but an entire landscape, as you'll find a hot-air balloon, ice-fishing activity, and letter sorter. The set is slightly interactive too, with a button that illuminates the balloon's burner and a lever that lets you divert mail between two carts.

See at Amazon See at Lego Store Lego Botanicals Poinsettia (608 pieces) $40 (was $50)

Instead of buying new flowers every year, save yourself the hassle and snap together this Poinsettia instead. It stands over 8 inches tall, features multiple flowers, and lets you build a woven base to hold all the greenery. It's a popular set, and one that you can keep in your house year-round.

See at Amazon See at Lego Store Advent Calendars Pricing Varies

Want a gift to open every day leading up to Christmas? A bunch of Lego Advent Calendars are up for grabs, including those inspired by Minecraft, Star Wars, and Frozen.

  • Lego Minecraft (300 pieces)
  • Lego Star Wars (263 pieces)
  • Lego Harry Potter (278 pieces)
  • Lego Disney: Frozen (231 pieces)
  • Lego City (186 pieces)
  • Lego Friends (237 pieces)
See all at Amazon Lego Home Alone McCallisters' House (3,955 pieces) $300

Home Alone is an iconic holiday movie, and this massive replica of the McCallisters' house is a fun way to celebrate the season. It'll take a long time to complete at nearly 4,000 pieces, and it makes both an eye-catching bit of decor and a versatile playset. Featuring minifigures for Kevin, Kate, Harry, Marv, and Old Man Marley, interactive components like swinging paint cans, a light up furnace, and a lever that sends Kevin down the stairs on a sled, it offers plenty of hidden secrets for fans of the movie to discover. Be sure to make space--the completed set is nearly 15 deep and over 10.5 inches tall.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Review - A Battle Revolution

Games Reviews - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 08:04

For the past few years, developer Game Freak has been experimenting with the Pokemon formula. 2021's Pokemon Legends: Arceus redefined what it meant to catch a Pokemon, and 2022's Pokemon Scarlet and Violet broke from the linear structure to let you take on gyms in any order. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Game Freak sets its sights on rethinking the battle mechanics. For the first time, Pokemon battles are real-time, with attacks utilizing a cooldown system and positioning playing a key role. This fresh take on the battle system keeps Legends: Z-A engaging from start to finish, but a bland presentation leaves Legends: Z-A feeling like a relic of the past.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A exclusively takes place in Lumiose City, the crown jewel of the Kalos region that is heavily inspired by Paris, France. A canal bisects the city, cafes can be found on nearly every block, and the Prism Tower--modeled after the Eiffel Tower--sits directly in the center. It's odd to play a Pokemon game set within the walls of a single town, but Lumiose City is probably one of the only places in the Pokemon universe that could support an entire game. That's not only due to its size, but also thanks to its rich history, which was established in 2013's Pokemon X and Y. Taking place only five years after the events of Pokemon X and Y means Legends: Z-A feels like a sequel rather than a spin-off.

By day, you're tasked with uncovering the truth behind Rogue Mega Evolved Pokemon popping up all over the city, and by night, you're climbing the Z-A Royale tournament ladder. Before long, these two goals become intertwined and missions alternate between hunting down Mega Evolved Pokemon and raising your rank in the Z-A Royale. Each rank introduces you to a new opponent who represents a different faction in Lumiose City. Over the course of the tournament, you'll spend time with a martial arts club and a crime syndicate, as well as mingle in aristocratic society. As you're getting to know these characters and their backstories, Rogue Mega Evolved Pokemon will threaten the city and you'll need to defeat them before ranking up in the tournament. It's a predictable structure, but one that affords Game Freak the opportunity to delve into the different sides of Lumiose City and its eccentric denizens. Ivor is a hulking man with long blond hair who wants to tear down the Wild Zones so Pokemon and people can live together in harmony. Corbeau is a sharply dressed mob boss who's dedicated his life to making Lumiose City a safe place.

Last Of Us Director Reveals His Favorite Moment In A Game

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 07:26

In September 2001, Fumito Ueda's Ico was released on PlayStation 2, and it made quite an impression on The Last of Us co-creator and director Neil Druckmann. Even 25 years after the game's release, Druckmann still points to a scene late in Ico as his favorite moment in a video game. There are some spoilers ahead for this quarter-century-old game.

"My favorite moment in a game. the one that's made my jaw drop when it when it happened, is in the game Ico," Druckmann told BAFTA in a recent interview. "We talked about how there's this mechanic where you're holding Yorda's hand and you're leading her along ... and she feels like this helpless character that you're leading along."

"Then there's a moment towards the end of the game, where you're on this bridge that is slowly like, splitting apart and Yorda is on one side of it and you're on the other, and you don't know what to do," continued Druckmann. "All you can do is just sprint towards that gap and jump towards her, and it looks like you're not going to make it and you're going to fall to your death. In the last second she reaches out and she grabs you. It was such an emotional moment because you don't expect it. She's never done that at any other point in the game."

Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul Explains Why He Finally Did A Video Game

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 06:30

Actor Aaron Paul lends his voice to the upcoming game Dispatch, and it's the 46-year-old Breaking Bad star's first time working on a video game. He told Screen Rant that, being an in-demand actor, he is often pitched various projects, and he tends to "just say no."

So what made him say yes to Dispatch? He explained that among the "stacks of scripts" and a sizzle reel of the game that was sent his way, one scene in particular "just really resonated with me."

"It's just these two characters sitting on top of a billboard, having a conversation, and I just, I just love the tone," he said.

ROG Xbox Ally Is Good Hardware Let Down By Annoying Software

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 06:08

As someone who has spent the vast majority of my life playing handhelds with limited capabilities, being able to pull something out of my bag that can run Dark Souls 3, Cyberpunk 2077, or Skyrim without compromising what the game is and how it looks still feels magical. For me, handheld gaming PCs still aren't commonplace enough to feel ordinary, so I don't take for granted that I have, as the great Doctor Otto Octavius once said, "the power of the sun in the palm of my hands," and by "sun" I mean my Steam, Xbox, and GOG game libraries.

Having said that, there are now enough of these devices that they're starting to step on each other's toes. The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are the latest entries into the handheld gaming PC world and, as far as toe-stepping goes, they've got steel-toed boots, and they are stomping.

As the name indicates, the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are new versions of those same Asus devices that have been available for a few years now, except they align themselves with the Xbox brand. The thing is, there's not much new about them, they are effectively the same hardware with Xbox branding, and what little is new is executed to various degrees of success.

Reanimal Is The Evolution Of Little Nightmares You've Been Waiting For

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 05:25

It was, for a few days, difficult for me to figure out exactly why my time with Reanimal was so exciting. When it was first announced by Tarsier Studios, the team behind Little Nightmares 1 and 2, I thought it was striking how much it resembled the team's prior series--one which had since been handed to Supermassive. I played both Supermassive's Little Nightmares 3 and Tarsier's Reanimal in the same week, and though my time with Reanimal was limited to a demo of about 20 minutes, I came away much more impressed by it than I was by Little Nightmares 3.

As I wrote in my Little Nightmares 3 review, I liked the game. It's good; it looks gorgeous like the others, and as the first in the series to offer co-op, it offers a welcome change of pace from what was otherwise a very familiar experience. But I was floored by Reanimal's demo, which is now available publicly during the latest iteration of Steam Next Fest.

For a few days, I've been wrestling with why Reanimal is so much more immersive and affecting. They both have excellent, full-bodied audio design that toys with creaks, echoes, and unsettling stillness expertly. Generally, their puzzle designs are similar too, with both offering optional co-op (or an AI ally) as players work together to survive a hostile land of monsters that come in various shapes and sizes.

Despite Lukewarm Reception, 2K Won't Cancel Project Ethos; Here's The Latest

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 05:12

2K Games hasn't said much about its free-to-play third-person shooter currently in the works under the working title Project Ethos, but the game is not being abandoned.

2K Games shared a memo from 2K President David Ismailer today in which the executive confirmed that it has hired Ben Brinkman to take over as studio head for developer 31st Union. The company's previous boss, former Call of Duty executive Michael Condrey, left the studio earlier this year.

Ismailer said in a memo to staff that the feedback from the Project Ethos test in Fall 2024 was "enlightening" for the studio. "It affirmed the promise of a roguelike shooter but told us we still had work to do. It uncovered the need for a more distinct identity," Ismailer said.

The Outlast Trials Adds PvP Soon And It's Terrifying

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 04:30

The Outlast Trials has long been one of the best horror games to play, but in its next update, it's going to get even scarier. Coming in a patch on October 21, Invasion mode is adding an optional PvP mode to the game for the first time, and the way developer Red Barrels has designed it adds a ton of horror and paranoia to the experience.

As devoted players already know, the normally PvE co-op horror game can be disrupted by "impostors," NPC characters who appear on the map as violent doppelgangers. These impostors are caught somewhat easily by their tell-tale laughs--they don't easily fool experienced players, though their behaviors have grown more sophisticated since the game first launched. But Invasion mode is about to overhaul that element in a major way.

During Invasion rounds, an enemy team of up to four players can join a game as impostors, taking turns infiltrating the round while disguised as players on the other team and armed with a kitchen knife. When waiting to spawn in, impostors can spy on the other team using security cameras, while those players can break the cameras as a counter.

In today's Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase, Gameloft revealed 2025's final free update--which includes a fan-favorite princess--is set to launch on December 10, while also teasing what's to come in 2026 with an all-new roadmap.

After years of waiting, Disney Dreamlight Valley players will finally get an opportunity to befriend what is arguably the most popular Disney princess. The Winter Ball, the game's final free content update for 2025, brings with it a new storyline that asks players to work with the Fairy Godmother on a quest to bring Cinderella back to the valley.

Though some may be happy just getting to hang out with Cinderella after all this time, that's not all that's in store for this enchanting update. The Winter Ball is also introducing a new multiplayer feature called Dreamteams. With Dreamteams, players can join a group of up to seven other friends to form a community that can share resources to work together toward various tasks, while also sharing photos and updates with one another. Disney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch DLC Adds Rideable Horses And More

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 04:30

In a new Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase, Gameloft has shared new info on the cozy game's upcoming Wishblossom Ranch expansion, which introduces a selection of new characters, biomes, and gameplay features when it launches on November 19. Oh, and there are a lot of horses.

Today's Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase gave players a glimpse at the story they can expect to experience in the Wishblossom Ranch expansion, revealing that Cruella de Vil has taken control of the ranch and brought it to ruins with her villainy. At the same time, a giant flower beneath Wishblossom Ranch has been disturbed, causing wish magic to run rampant through the biomes. This expansion's tale will revolve around solving the mystery of the wish magic, as well as finding all of the missing horses that once inhabited the ranch and rebuilding it to its former glory.

Cruella de Vil isn't the only new villager coming in the expansion, though, as players will also get to befriend Tigger, Snow White, and Tinkerbell. They'll encounter these beloved Disney characters while exploring the expansion's new biome: the snow-covered Wishing Alps, Cruella-inspired Glamour Gulch, and oversized fauna-filled Pixie Acres. And as usual, each of these biomes features new critters to meet and feed, including geese, skunks, and adorable little bees.

How Limp Bizkit Ended Up Working On Battlefield 6

Game News - Thu, 10/16/2025 - 04:26

The Battlefield 6 official soundtrack features Limp Bizkit, and while the collaboration might seem natural given the game series is known for "breaking stuff" and Limp Bizkit has a song called "Break Stuff," the partnership wasn't planned from the onset. Henry Jackman, who scored Battlefield 6, said in an interview with Hollywood Records that he was nearly finished with the Battlefield 6 OST before wondering if a collaboration with a rock group might benefit the game.

"There is definitely a bit of a rock thing going on," he said, referring to Battlefield's iconic theme. "Would it be completely crazy... is there any mileage in trying to think of some crazy collaboration with a band... that's obviously got serious rock credentials?"

A partnership would also require a group to be "creatively humble enough" to work on a collaborative project that is outside their wheelhouse. So Jackman thought, "What about Limp Bizkit?"
