A new limited-time mode is on the way to Marvel Rivals, and in this event, headshots are about to get a whole lot easier. Called Giant-Size Brain Blast, the mode sees every character's head increased to comically absurd sizes, and it kicks off soon.
Developer NetEase Games will host two sessions of Giant-Size Brain Blast, with the first one starting on April 25 and the second kicking off on May 2. Up to 12 players can compete and work towards earning rewards like titles and emotes. When players complete 10 matches in Brain Blast mode, they will earn the Brain Blast emote, and at the end of each round of the event, title rewards will be handed out to the players in the top 500, top 100, and top 10 leaderboards.

Destiny 2 The Edge Of Fate Trailer Hints At What's Next For Bungie's Space Shooter
Though Bungie has already announced a showcase for Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate which takes place on May 6, a new teaser trailer adds additional context and hints towards the future of the sci-fi shooter.
The Edge of Fate is the name of Destiny 2's next big content drop. Though it hasn't been confirmed, we can assume this is either the next expansion, or the summer 2025 major update. While we faced off against The Witness in The Final Shape, and dealt with the aftermath in the episodic content that followed, the Edge of Fate represents a new beginning for Guardians.
The teaser trailer shows a Guardian and their ship flying toward symbols from the Nine. The Nine, sometimes stylized as the IX, are a group associated with the Sol System--the system where all of Destiny's activities so far have taken place.

Monster Hunter Wilds' seasonal Festival of Accord: Blossomdance event is live, covering the Grand Hub in cherry blossoms and adding new armor sets and cosmetics to earn.
While the festival is live from April 22-May 6, Capcom states that "most" of the game's previously released event quests will return, in addition to two new ones.
The new Daughters of Carabosse quest tasks players with hunting two Lala Barinas and will reward materials to craft the new Blossom armor as well as butterfly-themed Palico equipment. Another quest, That Won't Work On Me, asks players to hunt a Tempered Xu Wu. Materials earned from the quest can be used to craft two new types of glasses and an eyepatch. Once created, the glasses can then be equipped by Alma for a new look (if players have previously completed the quest that unlocks glasses customization). Alma will additionally wear a special kimono during the event, after which players can unlock the outfit for her permanently via a separate purchase or by buying the Blossomdance DLC pack, which includes additional cosmetics and gestures.

Players of the video game series were teed up for the twist coming in The Last of Us Season 2. But for Abby actress Kaitlyn Dever, the experience ended up hitting a bit too close to home. That's because she lost her mother mere weeks before shooting the sequence in which her character also was dealing with the death of a parent. Warning: Spoilers ahead.
Speaking to EW, Dever was upfront about the process of shooting this anticipated and controversial scene with Joel actor Pedro Pascal for The Last of Us Season 2. "To be as honest as possible, I will just say that my days leading up to this scene were horrible." Dever's mother died from breast cancer roughly 14 years after first being diagnosed. The actress shared an Instagram post in February 2024 to remember her mom.
"I lost my mom two or three weeks before I actually shot this scene [on The Last of Us], and my mom's funeral was three days before I did my first day," Dever told EW. "So I was sort of in a fog. I was in a daze."

The effects of United States President Donald Trump's sweeping reciprocal tariff policies have been felt across the gaming industry, most notably with Nintendo and the delay in preorders for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Now, developers of retro-gaming-focused hardware are beginning to feel the pinch, with two notable names announcing a halt to all US shipments for the foreseeable future.
Retrotink--creators of the Retrotink 4K video processor--were the first to announce the end of US orders, with the company's founder Mike Chi declaring on social media that April 23 would be the last day for any non-expedited orders, and April 28 would be the last day for expedited shipments. "Without proper procedures in place," Chi said in a BlueSky thread, "the risk of delays and lost packages is simply too high."
Anbernic RG 34XXSoon after, Anbernic--which makes portable gaming devices like the RG 34XX and 35XX Plus--updated the shipping policy on its website to mention the suspension of shipments from China to the US. The new text reads that effective immediately, "due to changes in U.S. tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States."

Ahead of its release on April 25, Days Gone Remastered developer Bend Studio has revealed several new details on the game's accessibility features. One of the new additions relates to gameplay, as players will be able to slow down the overall game speed to 25%, allowing them to have more time when dealing with stressful situations like a massive horde of Freakers.
Bend Studio explained in a blog post that adjusting the game speed is ideal for players who might have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, and with the remastered game adding a new Horde Assault mode, this option allows for more people to enjoy it. Other gameplay features coming to Days Gone Remastered include the option to auto-complete quick-time events on any difficulty, the ability to recenter the camera on attack, haptic vibration intensity sliders, field-of-view adjustments, and customizable controls.
Like several other Sony first-party games, the accessibility upgrades also cover the audio and visual parts of the game. Bend Studio says that it has added high-contrast options to make it easier for players to see certain elements in the game--like protagonist Deacon St. John or the HUD--and the game now has a fully revised and improved audio mix.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhorse hasn't announced any future projects, but game director Daniel Vavra has ideas. He said in an interview that he has "a couple of projects" in mind that could, he estimates, have "as big potential as Kingdom Come: Deliverance." The developer added that he's hopeful the "AI revolution" gets here soon so he can make more games before retiring.
Vavra didn't go into detail on what these ideas might be, but he did tell The Game Business that he hopes the "AI revolution" can help him and his staff make games faster. He said new AI technologies will not replace human developers but will help them build faster.
"It really annoys me that the games take so much time, because I have more ideas than I have time," he said. "There are a couple of projects that I would love to do. And I would love to prepare them properly, so it's not as chaotic. I hope that the AI revolution will help with this, where in the future we will not be replaced by AI, but we will be helped by AI. So a lot of the things could get easier and faster."

Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal are crossing over with Kentaro Miura's legendary dark-fantasy manga Berserk, and now Blizzard has revealed more details on what the franchise's first non-Blizzard IP collab will involve.
Unlike some crossovers that are solely an opportunity to buy themed skins, the Diablo and Berserk crossovers do actually add new events for players to participate in and free rewards to claim, though most of the "good" stuff will cost extra. Diablo 4's Berserk crossover event will begin May 6 and run through the end of Season 8, approximately three months later. Diablo Immortal's Berserk events will run May 1-30.
In Diablo 4, players will hunt elite enemy packs in order to gather Behelits that can be used to unlock free Berserk cosmetics in the Berserk Reliquary, part of Diablo 4's newly revamped battle-pass system. Some of those items include a Brand of Sacrifice marking that can be used in character customization, as well as Skull Knight's shield as mount armor and Griffith's Helmet as a back trophy.

Ahead of its launch on June 5, anyone looking to preorder a Switch 2 console will be able to grab a few accessories to go along with it. The Switch 2 Pro Controller will be one of the devices available to purchase, and while it looks very similar to the first-gen model that launched alongside the Switch in 2017, Nintendo says one aspect of it has been significantly improved.
On the official Nintendo website (via NintendoSoup), the company claims that the controller can now be charged in approximately three hours when the console is in sleep mode--around half the time of the original Pro Controller. What makes this interesting is that the new Pro Controller has a smaller 1070 mAh battery when compared to the original--it has a 1,300 mAh battery--and for overall battery life, Nintendo says that you can expect up to 40 hours of use depending on the game you're playing and usage conditions.
Other new features on the controller include two new buttons on the rear that can be customized and the C-button that activates GameChat if you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. What happens if you push it and you don't have Nintendo Switch Online? Nothing bad, Nintendo assured us in a recent interview.

The newest episode of HBO's The Last of Us included extreme violence and gore, but it could have been even more grisly. Director Mark Mylod has now opened up about Season 2, Episode 2, which included a shocking twist from the game.
SPOILERS FOLLOW BELOW.In Episode 2, "Through the Valley," Joel (Pedro Pascal) is brutally murdered by Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) with a golf club. We see Abby killing Joel with the club by way of an ongoing flurry of blows to his face and body, leaving Joel slumped on the floor. Abby finishes the job by stabbing Joel with the sharp point of a golf club. It was a gripping and intense scene, and Mylod said in an interview that he wanted to keep "most" of the violence of this scene off-screen.
"I wanted to avoid overt torture. I don't have much interest in showing violence itself," Mylod told The Hollywood Reporter.

Following the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, another Sega franchise may be heading to the big screen. Director Michael Bay and actress Sydney Sweeney are reportedly working on an adaptation of Sega's 1986 arcade racing hit OutRun.
According to Deadline, Bay is attached to direct OutRun from a script by Jayson Rothwell. However, Sweeney is only signed on as a producer, not a star. Sweeney is one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood, and her upcoming roles include the Barbarella remake. She has also shifted to producing her own projects.
The OutRun arcade game doesn't have any story to speak of, since it and all of its follow-up games are racing titles. There hasn't been a new game in the series since 2009's OutRun Online Arcade. Hollywood studios have previously attempted to adapt Shinobi and other classic Sega games, but only Sonic came to fruition on the big screen.

A newly launched Call of Duty store bundle is themed around bacon. The "Sizzlin'" tracer pack, as it's called, includes a variety of cosmetics based on the salt-cured pork treat, along with a death effect that turns enemies into strips of bacon when eliminated.
The Sizzlin' tracer pack is one of COD's most expensive bundles, carrying a cost of 3,000 COD Points--that's about $30. For that, players get multiple weapon variants that add strips of bacon to your guns, along with a special skin, "Not Enough Bacon," which is basically a ghillie suit made of bacon.
The special bacon-themed death effect, meanwhile, turns enemies into strips of bacon, while the bundle also comes with a cast iron frying pan melee weapon. There is a finishing move called "Pan Fried," in which the player sizzles their enemy's face in a pan of bacon grease.

Pedro Pascal's character on The Last of Us, Joel, was killed off in the Season 2, Episode 2 episode that aired on April 20. Despite that, Joel is not finished on the TV series--far from it.
Showrunner and writer Craig Mazin told TV Line that Joel and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) make up an "iconic duo," going on to assure fans they will see more of them, and in new ways.
"We do get to see them quite a bit together this season. And we also get to see interesting things happening with them--more, I think, than what we saw in Season 1," he said.

A Switch 2 release for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows hasn't been officially confirmed by the company, but an unannounced port may have just been leaked by PEGI. The PEGI website seemed to list Nintendo Switch 2 alongside Shadows' other launch platforms in a minor detail that was soon picked up and posted to Reddit.
As spotted by Eurogamer, while Assassin's Creed Shadows' dedicated page on the PEGI ratings website lists only PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, one Redditor noticed that, when the game was displayed on the PEGI homepage under the Most Searched Games band, it also included Nintendo Switch 2. At the time of writing, Shadows is no longer included under Most Searched Games, so it's unclear whether the Switch 2 is still included on the games listing.
It's possible the Switch 2 only appeared because of a mistake by PEGI, but it's also not unlikely that Ubisoft would bring Shadows to the Switch 2. The company already has one game coming to the Switch 2--Star Wars Outlaws, and Ubisoft revealed at Star Wars Celebration over the weekend that it will be releasing for the Switch 2 on September 4.

"Modified data can interfere with normal gameplay and even render the game unplayable," Capcom warned in a post on the Monster Hunter X account (via Eurogamer). "If you suspect a quest has been modified, please do not play it, or stop playing it immediately."
