Jaws 50th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray
See at AmazonJaws 3-Movie 4K Blu-ray Collection
See at Amazon See at AmazonJaws is credited with being one of the first Hollywood summer blockbusters, and if you still haven't seen this landmark movie from director Steven Spielberg, then you can grab a deal on the iconic movie and its sequels on 4K Blu-ray during Amazon's Prime Day 2025 sale. The deals include the Jaws 50th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray Edition for $23 (was $30), the Jaws 3-Movie 4K Blu-ray Collection--which includes Jaws 2, Jaws 3, and Jaws: The Revenge--for $35 (was $80), and the Jaws 3 4K Steelbook Edition for $20 (was $30). These are awesome deals, but they're not sticking around for long--Prime Day ends later tonight, July 11, so grab them while you can.
Jaws 50th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray $23 (was $30)Based on the novel by Peter Benchley, Jaws tells the story of a very hungry Great White shark terrorizing the beachgoers of Amity Island. Wit the bodycount rising and the town expecting a massive influx of visitors for the holiday season, it's up to a handful of volunteers to hunt down the man-eating beast and stop it for good. While that sounds like a fairly straight-forward B-movie, Jaws was a triumph at the time thanks to a variety of reasons. The animatronic shark was prone to breakdowns and this led to Spielberg and his crew adopting an effective "less-is-more" approach to crafting the suspense of the film, while the iconic score by John Williams helped heighten the scares.
It might have gone over budget and schedule, but with a wide release across hundreds of theaters, Jaws was a box-office hit in 1975. For the bonus materials, you're getting several lengthy documentaries that explore the troubled production of the film, archival materials, and deleted scenes.
See at Amazon Jaws 3-Movie 4K Blu-ray Collection $35 (was $80)The other big impact that Jaws had on pop culture was that it kickstarted a new genre of "sharksploitation" movies. Jaws had three sequels, and while they are forgettable, they're still fascinating to watch as they become increasingly silly. You'll find all of them in this boxset, which comes with a range of behind-the-scenes special features.
Jaws 2 saw the return of a hungry shark to Amity Island--and Roy Scheider's Chief Brody--Jaws 3 is set in an underwater aquarium that is besieged by a killer shark, and Jaws 4 got ridiculous with its plot about the titular shark being a serial killer hellbent on revenge. Yes, this was Jaws as a slasher movie, or a splasher movie if you want to get technical.
See at Amazon Jaws 3 4K Steelbook Edition $20 (was $40)We also want to point out that there's a very nice steelbook edition of Jaws 3 on sale. It's possibly the best thing to come out of the threequel, although the film itself is still a weird entry in the series with gorgeous set design released during the height of the first 3D cinema craze. If you have a TV that can play films in 3D, you can watch the movie in that extra-dimension and experience some surprisinggly effective scares in this format.
See at AmazonWe've also included a list of Prime Day deals on movie boxsets below. If Jaws appeals to you, then there's no shortage of classic film series to choose from here as everything from Alfred Hitchcock movies to The Terminator has gotten a nice discount.

The '80s gave birth to a new generation of horror with several slasher movie franchises, and if you're looking to build a blood-soaked collection of Blu-rays, you can grab the entire Child's Play series with the Chucky: 7-Movie Collection on Blu-ray. The box set is substantially discounted to $25 (was $60) during the remainder of Amazon's Prime Day 2025 sale, which ends today, July 11.
Chucky: 7-Movie Collection $25 (Was $60)The first Child's Play movie was released in 1988, and it revolved around a serial killer who escaped death by performing a voodoo ritual to transfer his soul into the titular "Chucky" doll. Not wanting to stay trapped inside of a toy body for all eternity, Chucky concocts a plot to murder the family that purchased him and place his soul inside a young boy who knows that he's evil. The film was a surprise hit, and it spawned two more sequels in 1990 and 1991, as Chucky kept managing to to come back from the dead.
Following a hiatus of several years, more Child's Play movies were regularly produced starting with 1998's Bride of Chucky. The box set comes with a chunky selection of bonus materials, examining the creation of the series, its cultural impact, feature commentary tracks from the cast and crew, several featurettes, and much more.

It's worth noting that this bundle doesn't include the 2019 reboot, which made several major changes to the source material. In this film, Chucky is an AI-powered killer doll--somebody clearly set it to Evil--voiced by Mark Hamill, and the movie also starred Aubrey Plaza. This is available on Blu-ray, and you can pick it up in either standard or 4K formats.

We've also included a list of several other Blu-ray box sets you can grab during Prime Day. Sticking with horror, you experience the terror of the Nightmare on Elm Street series, as this has been discounted to $20 (was $45), and in the modern era of filmmaking, Jordan Peele's double-feature of Get Out and Us is a masterclass in suspense. If you'd just prefer some straight-up gore, then the Saw series is a great way to lose your appetite--and possibly your lunch.

See at Amazon Transformers Prime Season 1 Transformers Prime Season 2 Transformers Prime Season 3We've reached the final day of Amazon's big Prime Day 2025 sale, but the discounts haven't slowed down. Several Blu-rays and DVD sets from multiple animated Transformers shows are on sale for the remainder of the event, including the early 2000s Transformers Armada, the critically acclaimed Transformers Prime, and the back-to-basics Transformers: Animated. We've rounded up all the deals below--just remember the sale ends today, July 11, so check them out while you can.
Transformers Armada: The Complete Series (DVD) $23.49 (was $45)Kicking things off is Transformers Armada, the first series in the Unicron trilogy. Arriving after the landmark Beast Wars and Beast Machines CG-animated series, Armada returned to the 2D animation of the G1 era and it helped introduce a new generation of kids to the ongoing war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The series revolved around the discovery of Mini-Cons--human-sized Transformers that could link with their larger brethren and unlock new powers--and the race to claim them by the opposing Cybetronian forces. This first season ran for 52 episodes, and they're all included in this DVD boxset.
See at Amazon Transformers Energon: The Complete Series (DVD) $23.49 ($45)
The first sequel series, Energon, was set 10 years after Armada in an era where Earth and Cybetron peacefully coexist. This show began to pick up speed around the looming threat of Unicron, and with Megatron mysteriously resurrected, the Autobots found themselves facing old and new threats aplenty. Energon is notable for blending traditional animation with cel-shaded CG animation, as every Transformer in the show was animated with the then revolutionary tech. It might look quaint by today's standards, but in 2004, this was the bleeding edge of animation.
See at Amazon Transformers Cybertron: The Complete Series (DVD) $29.87 ($45)
Rounding off the Unicron Trilogy was Transformers Cybertron. It's the highlight of the entire saga, as it revolved around a grand story to save Cybertron from being devoured by a black hole. Only the power of the Omega Lock could stop it, and it was up to Optimus Prime and his team of Autobots to visit distant worlds to reclaim the Cyber Planet Keys and save the day. The only problem here? Megatron, who desired to claim the keys for himself and gain godlike power.
See at Amazon Transformers: Animated - The Complete Series (DVD) $24 (was $40)
The next big Transformers series would be Transformers: Animated, as it took the IP into a highly stylized direction with its signature art style. Characters were once again animated in 2D, and in a big departure from previous series, Optimus Prime was portrayed as a young and naive leader who slowly evolves into the iconic leader seen in previous shows. Transformers: Animated also put a fresh spin on several other characters, while introducing new Autobots and Decepticons to the mix who went on to become fan-favorites.
See at Amazon Transformers Prime
Following the blockbuster success of Michael Bay's Transformers movies, the 2010s would see the launch of Transformers Prime. The CG-animated show had plenty of personality thanks to its stylized designs, and it's easily the best Transformers animated show on this list. Nailing the balance between being kid-friendly and appealing to adults, Transformers Prime felt like an action-packed take on The Iron Giant and it ran for several seasons. All three seasons are available on DVD, and combined, they make for a definitive take on Transformers.
- Transformers Prime: Season 1 -- $8 ($9)
- Transformers Prime: Season 2 -- $15.49 ($30)
- Transformers Prime: Season 3 -- $12.21 ($20)
Transformers Prime Season 1 Transformers Prime Season 2 Transformers Prime Season 3
On the movie side, Transformers One is a must-have if you consider yourself a fan of the franchise. A huge critical hit--but sadly not a box office success--Transformers One is an origin story for Optimus Prime and Megatron, charting their early days as humble miners during a brutal era of Cybertron where a rigid caste system was enforced. Featuring an all-star cast of actors and incredible animation, you can pick this up on Blu-ray right now at a very good price.
The 4K version is priced at $19.84, and it also comes with the film on a standard Blu-ray disc and a digital streaming code.

Another new expansion for The Sims 4 has arrived, and Enchanted by Nature shakes up EA's long-running life sim in some big ways. That includes the introduction of a brand-new Fairy occult type, new methods for living off the land instead of in a house, and--most relevant to this article--an entirely new way for your Sims to get sick, called Ailments.
Where the standard illnesses in The Sims 4 don't pop up that often and are easily cured with generic medicine, Ailments are a whole new category of affliction that require specific cures--or help from a magical being with the ability to fix Ailments. Fortunately, Ailments are more annoying than dangerous--they really aren't severe enough to kill a Sim on their own--but their effects can be so disruptive that it's usually better to deal with them sooner than later.
Table of Contents [hide]A Sim with an Ailment is usually easy to spot, since some symptoms will be visible on their skin. How Ailments workAilments are contagious illnesses that can be caused by catching them from another Sim, being afflicted with one by a Fairy, or by being emotionally out of balance. The contagion factor is real, as hanging out in the same place as an infected Sim has a very good chance of giving your Sim an infection, too. And it's not just direct contact that'll get you--as with real illnesses, interacting with stuff that a sick person has touched can get your Sim sick too.

Borderlands 4K Steelbook Edition
See at Amazon See at AmazonPrime Day is one of the best events of the year for cinephiles thanks to the heaps of Blu-rays on sale, but with the event ending today, you'll need to act fast if you're stocking your movie shelf with new releases. While there are a lot of critically acclaimed movies to choose from, there's also one that is a bit of a hard sell: Borderlands. Right now, Amazon is offering a pretty good deal on the Limited Edition steelbook case and the regular 4K version. Both of these editions come with the film on a standard Blu-ray disc and a digital streaming code. The live-action adaptation of the hit looter-shooter video game series wasn't exactly on par with recent efforts like HBO's The Last of Us or The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but if you're brave enough, you can buy the film for yourself to see what all the fuss was about. If you dare.
Borderlands 4K Steelbook Edition $28.49 (was $35)The Borderlands movie makes several changes to the lore and characters of the games, and it's set on the dangerous alien planet of Pandora. Featuring a mostly miscast roster of actors, the movie revolves around the bounty hunter Lilith (Cate Blanchett) and her mission to find the missing daughter of Atlas, CEO of one of the largest companies in the galaxy.
When things go south, Lilith forms an unlikely alliance with Roland (Kevin Hart), Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), Patricia Tannis (Jaime Lee Curtis), and Krieg (Florian Munteanu) to find answers and a lucrative payday.
Admittedly, Borderlands is not a great movie. It's also not that bad as it's an average popcorn flick to watch if you feel like turning your brain off. Visually, it's colorful, there are numerous Easter eggs to spot, and it comes with the following bonus materials:
- Borderlands: From Game to Screen featurette
- Meet the Team featurette
- All Aboard the Death Choochoo featurette
- Bringing Borderlands to the Screen featurette
- Badonkadonk Time featurette
- Fashion and Action on Pandora featurette
- High Tech Hellscapes featurette
See at Amazon Borderlands (4K) $22.49 (was $27)
In case the steelbook edition sells out, the regular 4K version is also available for purchase.
See at AmazonThe best thing about the Borderlands movie is that it makes other video game adaptations much better just by comparison. Several of these surprisingly and suddenly improved films are also on sale for Prime Day, including Doom. The early 2000s take on the classic FPS series arrived too late after the initial heyday of the franchise and too soon for the current incarnation featuring the Doom Slayer, but you're still getting a great action movie with a reliable cast--a Rock-solid roster you might say. This is the recent 4K release that restores a lot of the gore that was left on the cutting room floor of the theatrical release and it's packed with extras.
On the animated side, the Final Fantasy 7 sequel Advent Children is still an exciting return to Midgar, and one that has been enhanced with new content and adjustments to create the ultimate version of the ambitious film. Five Nights at Freddy's was also a surprise hit when it was first released, and for a prime example of how to properly adapt a video game, you just can't beat the groundbreaking work of the Arcane animated series.

See at AmazonAmazon has a fantastic deal on the Lego Star Wars R2-D2 display model for adults. Normally $240, the 2,314-piece R2-D2 building set is on sale for only $168. The $72 discount is the best we've seen at a major retailer, and since this set was retired by Lego at the beginning of the year, this may be your last chance to get a deal on it. The R2-D2 deal is an official Prime Day offer, but you don't need to be a member to purchase it.
Amazon launched this particular Lego Star Wars discount on the final day of Prime Day 2025. It joins two other notable Lego Star Wars deals: the Imperial Star Destroyer and Phantom Menace BrickHeadz Collection.
Lego Star Wars - R2-D2 Display Model (2,314 Pieces) $168 (was $240) | Retired in January 2025Released as part of Lucasfilm's 50th Anniversary celebration in 2021, this R2-D2 is a black-box Star Wars Lego set, which means it's more of a display model and is geared toward adults.
When complete, the 2,314-piece R2-D2 Lego model measures 12.5 x 7.5 x 6 inches, so while it's not an extremely large set in terms of overall space, it's an intricate build with many little flourishes and features that make it stand out as a display piece. This includes interactive components pulled from the movies: rotating head, retractable leg, adjustable periscope, and a front hatch that opens and extends outward. There's also a secret storage compartment for Luke Skywalker's lightsaber.
This R2-D2 model also comes with a display plaque with details about the droid, an R2-D2 minifigure, and a Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary stand for the minifigure. For collectors out there, it's worth noting that this R2-D2 model is the only Lego set with the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary brick.
Lego released a smaller, 1,050-piece R2-D2 buildable figure last year for $100--but it's on sale for $80. The newer R2-D2 is recommended for kids ages 10 and up, and while it still looks great, the build process is not nearly as elaborate as the the larger R2-D2.

We're well on the way to Borderlands 4, the highly anticipated sequel in 2K's long-running shooter bonanza (that's the genre name now, I fear) coming this September, and Gearbox is finally providing in-depth glimpses at the game's new playable cast. This week, it kicked things off with an introduction to Vex, a new Siren who taps into her deadly abilities at a fairly stressful, and very unfortunate, time.
In a gameplay overview, we get a taste for how Vex will differ from other Sirens from the Borderlands games. Sirens are a special (and very fun) kind of being in the series that are able to tap into psychic abilities and are marked by glowing tattoos. Vex is much the same, but uses her newfound powers to provide her with a squad of minions.
Vex stands apart from previous playable Sirens by focusing heavily on minions that she can summon, transforming her role into a kind of necromancer/pet class. One of her skill trees entirely focuses on a large alien cat familiar called Trouble, which Vex can summon and teleport around the battlefield. Many of the additional skills and modifiers on the tree augment Trouble's capabilities in battle, allowing them to soak up more damage, taunt enemies, or even explode.

Diablo 4 Season 9's first major balance update is here, bringing major Barbarian buffs and increased rewards from The Pit, Nightmare dungeons, Legion events, and more.
Season 9 brought permanent changes to Nightmare dungeons in the form of Horadric Strongrooms and new positive dungeon affixes, and update 2.3.1 looks to further fine-tune some of the rewards associated with those updates.
As detailed in the patch notes, when doing a dungeon with the Horadric Materials Reserve affix, Horadric chests will now reward more salvage materials and Forgotten Souls. The Forgotten Wisdom affix, which grants bonus XP, has also been adjusted to make it so XP motes dropped by enemies will now split experience between party members instead of only granting experience to the player who picked it up. Additionally, the maximum number of motes that can spawn in a dungeon has significantly increased, while the frequency has been slightly reduced. Each mote grants more XP as well, though motes will no longer spawn from monsters summoned by other monsters or in Horadric Strongrooms.

Fortnite players have been waiting patiently all season for the chance to unlock the game's first obtainable Superman skin in four years, and Friday was supposed to be the day. But the folks at Epic have apparently goofed something up, and most of the new Superman cosmetics, including both versions of the skin, are locked for everyone regardless of whether they own the battle pass.
Players can unlock the free items--a loading screen, a cape, and a pickaxe--but everything else in Superman's set is stuck. Players who level up enough to unlock some of the items report seeing the normal "you just unlocked these items" splash screen after returning to the lobby, but then the skin, glider, and other items that require the battle pass don't actually appear in the locker.
Reddit has been inundated with complaints about this--the front page of the FortniteBR subreddit is covered in posts about this topic. Despite how widespread the issue appears to be--I'm also experiencing this phenomenon myself--Epic has not yet publicly acknowledged the problem on @FortniteStatus, though there is a page about in in Epic's self-service support portal. It's possible the lack of a public response is due to Epic's summer break, when most of the company's employees are on vacation--Friday being the final business day of the break. [Update: Epic has now acknowledged the problem, though it hasn't offered a timeline for a fix.]

Aaron Keller hears you all and agrees: Overwatch 2 could definitely use more story content right about now, stating that for it to be "firing on all cylinders" it needs to once again make story content a pillar of the game.
Keller, who serves as Overwatch 2's director, was recently interviewed by content creator Jay3 about many aspects of the live game, including the status of a map editor/creator, a looking-for-group function, and the process of creating just one of the game's many heroes. The latter question eventually led to discussion about the state of narrative content in Overwatch 2 and Keller was refreshingly frank about the matter.
When probed about a potential TV series, Keller responded by saying that the team "would love to do that" before springboarding off of the question to address narrative-starved fans. Keller continued, saying that the team sees a lot of sentiment online that "Overwatch has dropped the ball when it comes to story and lore."

Battlefield 6 classes will passively earn perks over the course of a match, culminating in a powerful active ability.
That's just part of how developer DICE is looking to double down on the unique strengths of each class in the next Battlefield. In a community update blog post, DICE further elaborated on the next Battlefield's class system, having previously revealed that Battlefield 6 wouldn't feature class-locked weapons.
It will, however, have what DICE is calling Training. Players will be able to choose between two different Training paths for each class. Training levels up over the course of a match by tackling objectives or engaging in teamplay, after which players gain more passive bonuses unique to the class. Upon reaching level-three Training, players can use an unique active class ability.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 comes loaded with plenty of levels, including every stage from the original versions of both games as well as a few brand-new stages, like Movie Studio and Pinball. However, developer Iron Galaxy actually created several more levels--11, by our count--that you can find via the Create-A-Park mode.
Select Create-A-Park and you'll see a whole bunch of user-created courses. Thus far, they are ... well, they aren't good, to put it mildly. Most are simply advertising an easy way to earn a few of the game's hardest achievements, and offer little else. However, scroll down and you'll see a "Developer" section, where all the levels were designed by Iron Galaxy itself.
Now, to be clear, these stages lack the complexity--both visual and mechanical--of the "real" stages in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, but their simplicity and emphasis on performing nearly impossible tricks helps to make them a good contrast after you've had your fill of the others. Iron Galaxy even put in collectables and other goals to make things more interesting, albeit ones that are fairly easy considering the small size of these stages.

IO has acknowledged the performance issues on Hitman: World of Assassination - Signature Edition that have mired its release as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title.
As one of a few third-party releases that was supposed to showcase the new console's ability to run graphically intensive current-gen titles, the port has been criticized for its many technical issues. In our impressions, we noted that its uncapped frame rate resulted in "uneven" performance that "fluctuates wildly," surprisingly mitigated in handheld mode due to the display supporting built-in Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

A long-requested feature is finally sailing to Sea of Thieves, but players will have to shell out some cash to take advantage of it. Custom servers, along with other unannounced "benefits," are included in a subscription service coming to Rare's live-service pirate game in early 2026. Developers from Rare made the announcement during a Community Direct video on Wednesday.
Sea of Thieves is dependent on emergent encounters with both computer-controlled enemies and real players, both of whom can engage in hostilities with players. With custom servers, players can create their own "private customisable sandbox" with adjustable options for loot and enemy spawns. Private servers can also run "Safer Seas Fleets," allowing players to invite their friends, free of beligerent randos. Rare has not stated how much this subscription model will cost.
Rare was one of the many studios hit by massive layoffs at Microsoft, which also resulted in the cancellation of the studio's project Everwild. Gregg Mayles, a veteran of the company who served as the creative director for both Sea of Thieves and Everwild, reportedly departed Rare following the latter's cancellation.
