Virtual Live Audio Engineer

Overview:

A Virtual Reality Training Tool for Audio Mixing

The Live Audio Engineering Industry contains a significant barrier to entry for newcomers wishing to learn the craft: practising skills can be inconvenient and expensive. It is difficult to find opportunities to practice live mixing in front of a real audience, and if the correct techniques fail to be employed, the outcome can be sonically disastrous. In addition, even some basic mixing desks cost thousands of dollars. Therefore, it is important that the novice Live Engineer has a safe, virtual environment in which to acquire and refine their skills, under ‘simulated pressure’. This allows them to be better prepared for future trials that they may face, increasing their confidence and expanding their skillset with the goal of future employment.
