Hyper Line: Exploring Efficient and Comfortable Single Line Gestures on a Touch Screen Interface

Overview:

Performing difficult gestures on a touch screen interface can often result in input errors and an uncomfortable experience for the user.

This study focuses on the development of a system capable of analysing which gestures present a higher error rate and completion time.

This work explores the efficiency and comfortability of various gestures and analyses the performance of the top 3 users.

The results proved that gestures which exceed the functional area of the thumb or require complicated maneuvers, are difficult to perform.

This information is useful in developing standards for intuitive design.
