From UTS Student Project to International Showcase: Multi-Merge Mayhem Makes Its Mark in Seoul

In May 2026, Samuel Coa and Stephen Roberts from PARTYBOMB STUDIO flew from Sydney to Seoul to showcase Multi-Merge Mayhem at GAME AiCON (Asia Indie Connect), Korea’s premier B2B gaming conference dedicated to game publishing and global partnerships.

The team exhibited the party game over two days to an audience of publishers, investors, fellow developers and industry veterans across the Asia-Pacific region. The event provided valuable opportunities to build industry relationships, receive feedback from experienced professionals, and explore potential publishing and business development opportunities.

Multi-Merge Mayhem received the People's Choice Award for Best Creative, recognising the game's originality and the strong reception it received from attendees.

The showcase marked an important milestone in the game's development. Originally created in 2024 as MMMMMM: Multi-Merge Mix & Match Minigame Mayhem, a student project developed at the University of Technology Sydney for the Game Design Studio 1 subject, the title has since been completely redeveloped from the ground up. The commercial version features new mechanics, online multiplayer, a brand new visual style, and a regrettably shortened title for better SEO.

Participation in GAME AiCON Seoul allowed the team to establish new connections with industry professionals from the international games industry, learn more about the APAC market (especially the Chinese and Korean market), and reinforced the commercial potential of Multi-Merge Mayhem.
