Thinking: As a Simulations Professional - Guest Lecture by Dr. Elyssebeth Leigh

We recently hosted an insightful guest lecture by Dr. Elyssebeth Leigh on "Thinking: As a Simulations Professional," exploring the frameworks and mindsets of domain-agnostic simulation specialists. Every discipline shapes its members' thinking, influencing their approach to work, whether they stick to their original field or branch out.

Dr. Leigh delved into key characteristics of simulation professionals’ thinking, asking thought-provoking questions about their ideation processes, models of the world, and how they collaborate with others. Using real stories from various eras and domains, she illustrated how simulation specialists—and their simulations—shape our world in impactful ways.

This session highlighted the versatility of simulations in crossing disciplinary boundaries, making it clear how valuable this knowledge can be in diverse fields. A huge thank you to Dr. Leigh for an inspiring discussion!
