Playmakers Student Society Showcases Game Development Careers at ACS Big Day In

On March 18, the Playmakers Student Society proudly represented the student tech and creative community at the 2025 ACS Big Day In, running a highly successful booth focused on Games Development as a Career.
Held at a major university campus, the event brought together students, educators, and industry professionals. Playmakers’ booth quickly became a crowd favourite, offering visitors a hands-on look at what it’s like to work in game development.
One of the major highlights was the showcase of student-developed games published on Steam, demonstrating that it’s possible to turn passion projects into real, playable products. Attendees were able to try out these games, chat with the developers, and learn about the journey from early concept to commercial release.
The booth also featured displays on game design, programming, art, and audio, with Playmakers members sharing insights into the tools and workflows used in the industry.
The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many students signing up to get involved, and several industry representatives showing interest in future collaboration.
“Seeing student games already live on Steam made the career path feel real and achievable,” said one attendee.
The success of the event highlights Playmakers’ ongoing commitment to fostering student talent, building community, and supporting the next generation of game developers.
