GTA 6 Boss Talks Possibility Of Another Delay And Teases Multiple Other Rockstar Games

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 03:39

Take-Two's top boss, Strauss Zelnick, has come out to say he's feeling confident that GTA 6 will not be delayed again, while also confirming Rockstar has multiple other games in the works right now.

Speaking to CNBC, Zelnick was asked to state his level of conviction about GTA 6 coming out on time on May 26, 2026. He replied, "My level of conviction is very, very high, obviously."

He added: "We try not to pump expectations. Rockstar's whole stock and trade is to have these extraordinary expectations and still beat them. I know that's their goal. I know it's going to be an amazing game."

Baldur's Gate 4 Dev Still A Mystery, But New Studio Will Make Star Wars Jedi-Inspired D&D Game

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 03:32

Baldur's Gate 3 was one of the biggest games of 2023, and naturally, Wizards of the Coast wants to follow it up with a sequel. We already know that the developer behind Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios, is moving on to a new, unrelated project, and Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that the new studio being led by former Respawn Entertainment game director Stig Asmussen--Giant Skull--won't be working on it either. Instead, players can expect something more action-packed from the newly established studio.

"Baldur’s Gate is an incredible game," Wizards of the Coast president John Hight said to The Game Business. "And of course, we're going to do a successor. This is not the successor to that game. We go to Stig and his team to tell an incredible story and bring Dungeons & Dragons to a very broad audience. Ideally, the game will appeal to Dungeons & Dragons players because it will help them realize their imagination. But it’s also going to hopefully appeal to people that love playing action games, that love the Jedi games, that love God of War games."

Wizards of the Coast isn't in a big rush to get Baldur's Gate 4 out-- its parent company Hasbro is planning a number of other Dungeons & Dragons games set to launch over the next five years--and several potential partners are being courted for the unenviable task of following in Larian's footsteps. "We're going to take our time and find the right partner, the right approach, and the right product that could represent the future of Baldur's Gate," Hasbro's Eugene Evans said last year.

How To Throw All Pass Types In Madden NFL 26

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 03:26

You have several different options when you're the quarterback in Madden NFL 26. You can choose to pass the ball, run with it yourself, throw the ball away, or even take a sack to possibly avoid a turnover. Most of the time, though, you'll be passing the ball to one of your receivers. While you can simply press a receiver's button to throw them the ball, there can be a little more strategy to it than that.

Madden 26 allows you to throw a few different kinds of passes whenever you decide to run a passing play on offense. These passes can be utilized in various situations so you can give your receiver a better chance at catching the ball, securing a first down, or scoring a touchdown. There isn't a ton of explanation around the different passes in Madden 26, so allow us to explain what they are, how to throw them, and the best situations for each one.

All pass types in Madden 26

There are three main passes you can throw as a quarterback: standard, lob, and bullet. However, there are some other, more specific passes that are also available to throw: high pass, low pass, and throwing the ball away. Each of these passes requires you to press/hold a different button to throw it, and all of them alter your base pass in some way.

Tekken X Street Fighter Was 30% Done Before Development Was Paused, Tekken Boss Says

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 02:28

Back in 2012, the worlds of Street Fighter and Tekken collided in the 2.5D fighting game Street Fighter X Tekken. This was a two-part project that would have been followed up by Tekken X Street Fighter, bringing Capcom's roster of brawlers into the 3D space of Tekken. That was the plan at the time, but by 2016, development had been put on hold.

Just how much of the project was completed before Bandai Namco and Capcom pulled the plug on it? According to Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada, the team behind this project was "30%" into development, and he'd love to show fans what had been produced up to that point.

"It’s hard to say if that's even a thing," Harada said when asked about the status of Tekken X Street Fighter by Destructoid. "I mean, it depends on what people are wanting as well. That said, I would like to show people what we already have. That would be cool if we could do that. We were 30% into development, so fingers crossed."

Save $100 On Logitech Racing Wheels For PS5, Xbox, And PC

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 02:12

Logitech's G29 Racing Wheel is on sale for just $230 (was $330) at Amazon, which is the best price we've seen for the premium controller since Prime Day. The $100 discount deal technically applies to both the G29 and G920 racing wheels. These are the same core racing wheels, but the G29 is built for PlayStation while the G920 is for Xbox. Both work with PC and Mac and include the racing wheel and a floor pedal set for acceleration, clutch, and brakes. If you want a more robust setup, a similar deal is also available for bundles featuring the Logitech G29 or G20 Racing Wheels, the pedal module, and a Driving Force Shifter, all for $284.40 (was $390). Or, if you already own a compatible racing wheel, you can grab the shifter module on its own while it's on sale for $54.41 (was $60).

It's unclear how long these Logitech racing wheel discounts will be available, so be sure to grab them while you can.

Logitech G29 and G290 Racing Wheels $230 (was $330)

The Logitech G29 and G290 are premium racing wheels featuring a hand-stitched leather steering wheel cover and cool features like Logitech's driving force feedback system, which reliably mimics the feeling of real driving. It also offers a 900-degree rotation, allowing you to spin it around two and a half times, much like in traditional F1 cars.

The G29 or G920 racing wheels also include fully customizable pedals, so you can modify their performance and find a comfortable setting that gives you the most control over your rig. There's even a retractable carpet grip and rubber feet, which should help keep the pedals planted to the floor during intense races.

While this gets you a full virtual racing setup, the Driving Force Shifter module is also available as a standalone device you can add to an existing racing wheel setup, and it's on sale for $54.41 (was $60).

Another Xbox Game Hits PS5 Today, With Hellblade 2 "Coming Home" To Sony's Console

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 01:32

Microsoft's semi-new strategy of releasing its own games on rival platforms continues today with the debut of Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 on PS5. The original Hellblade is also arriving on PS5 today.

The game's $50 standard and $70 deluxe editions are available now on the PlayStation Store, and the game is PS5 Pro-enhanced. For the $20 extra, players who buy the deluxe edition get the 2017 game, enhanced for PS5, a copy of the sequel, and a digital soundtrack. If you just want the original Hellblade, it's available for $30 by itself on PS5.

The Hellblade series has a history with PlayStation, as the first game originally launched exclusively on console for the PS4; it didn't come to Xbox until April 2018. Microsoft bought the company in June 2018, with Hellblade 2 launching in 2024 on Xbox and PC.

Phasmophobia 2 Is Not Ruled Out After The First Game Exits Early Access In 2026

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 01:26

Kinetic Games is still slowly tinkering away at Phasmophobia's big Horror 2.0 update, and in a recent interview art director Corey J. Dixon spoke of what's in store for the game, and the difficulty of knowing when exactly it might be completely done. But interestingly, despite the fact the game is still yet to leave early access, the topic of a hypothetical Phasmophobia 2 came up, and Dixon shared whether he think it's possible or not.

Speaking to IGN, Dixon explained that Kinetic Games "definitely [has] plans for 1.0, probably in line with our Horror 2.0 update, where we feel the game is feature-complete," Dixon said. "It doesn't mean we'll stop working on it--we still want map reworks and new maps and stuff in the future, so there'll be more stuff for the game. But I think once the Horror 2.0 has been redone, which is the next thing we work on after the [2025's] Player Update, the game will feel finished. Once that's in, I think it will be in a good spot."

Dixon did note that it's hard to determine when Phasmophobia may exactly be finished apart from a rough 2026 window, in part because its community is constantly offering suggestions for things the game could include. "We'd love to work on it until we're really happy with it," he continued. "We haven't set a date or an update that's like: we're done. I think we'll just know: there'll be that company-wide feeling that this project is done now, we've made it the best it can be, which is what [creator] Dan [Knight] wanted Day One." Dixon noted that he doesn't think the team can plan for just when they might hit that milestone, but they'll be able to feel it when it happens.

Save Up To 30% On Samsung's Galaxy Tab A9+ Android Tablet For A Limited Time

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 01:24

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ Android tablet is down to one of its best prices of the year, with select 64GB models on sale for as little as $156 (normally $220) or $209 for the 128GB version (down from $270). Amazon is promoting these as "limited-time deals," meaning they won't stick around for long. While the Galaxy Tab A9+ isn't quite as premium as an iPad, it's an ideal device for streaming and web browsing--especially at this lower price.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 64GB: $156 (was $220) | 128GB: $209 (was $270)

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ to strong reviews last year, with critics praising its large screen, solid app performance, and expandable storage, all of which are great features for a budget-level tablet. Most of the specs are shared across the two different models. Regardless of which you choose, you'll get a sizable 11-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, which, although not powerful enough for demanding gaming, is perfectly fine for casual games or retro emulation.

Where things diverge is RAM--the 128GB model includes 8GB RAM while the 64GB model has just 4GB. If you plan on using the tablet's multitasking feature or running more demanding apps and games, consider snagging the 128GB model. Not only will you get more native storage, but the additional memory will make for a smoother experience.

Beyond this Samsung tablet, the Apple iPad (A16 Chip) is on sale for $299 (was $349). Offering a similar, lightweight design and 11-inch display, consider comparing the two and seeing which is best for your needs. The iPad comes with a few cool features not found on the Samsung--such as Touch ID and a much more powerful processor in the A16--but whether it's worth the extra cash depends on your needs. For basic streaming, web browsing, and light gaming, save yourself the money and opt for the Galaxy Tab A9+ while it's on sale.

Xbox Is Making It Easier To Track Your Owned Games

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 01:06

An update to the Xbox Dashboard should make big gaming libraries a lot easier to navigate through a simple addition, though only certain Xbox Insiders will be able to try out the new feature first. Per the Xbox Support site, a new Xbox Update Preview came out Monday for Xbox Insiders in the invite-only Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, and it adds a notable quality-of-life feature.

The preview build incluides "Free with Xbox" section under the Full Library tab, which separates demos and limited-time trials from the "Owned Games" section. Basically, it'll be easier to find actual video games in your collection without having to sift through several useless tiles on the menu.

Finally, you'll no longer have to look at relics like "Bleeding Edge Beta" and "Titanfall 2 Open Multiplayer Tech Test" alongside your full games. It's worth noting that you can manually hide these tiles already with a "Hide from list" option, but the upcoming menu update will essentially do all that work for you. Other existing tabs on the Xbox's full library menu include ones that house Games with Gold, video streaming applications, and Xbox Game Pass titles.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 Teaser Video Points To Global Catastrophes Amid Rise Of AI

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 00:52

In the lead-up to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's big reveal on August 19, Activision has released a new in-universe teaser video that highlights "The Guild," which is a "global protection" company that creates "tech we can trust." Given the tone and nature of this video, it appears The Guild is actually the villain of the story and not an entity that can, in truth, be trusted.

The video features fake news headlines about humanity escalating toward a global catastrophe due to the rise of artificial intelligence, the bolstering of military powers, and the breakdown of global supply chains. The end of the video switches music and tone to say The Guild has all the answers and is the company to trust for the future of civilization. Of course, that's not likely to be the case.

The first Black Ops 7 trailer from June teased some kind of futuristic tech company, with Adam Mason visiting the offices of a powerful company with advanced technology. Activision created an entire teaser website for The Guild as well.

New $25 Metroid Prime-Themed Earbuds Include Cool Drawstring Bag

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 00:39

We still don't have a release date for the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, but hey--at least we can look forward to these officially licensed Metroid Prime-themed wired earbuds launching soon. PowerA's Wired Earbuds won't sound as good as premium headphones or a gaming headset, but they could work well for younger Metroid fans--plus, the earbuds' Metroid-inspired design and the included carrying bag featuring artwork of Samus from the first three Metroid Prime games make for a nice collector's item. PowerA's Metroid-themed Wired Earbuds launch for $25 on August 17, and preorders are available at Amazon. There are also several other models available based on other popular Nintendo franchises like Mario, Pokemon, and Kirby up for grabs.

PowerA Wired Earbuds (Metroid) $25 | Releases August 17

PowerA's Metroid-themed Wired Earbuds feature a blue and black color scheme and sport decals of Samus' logo on the left bud and a Chozo icon on the right. While PowerA says these Wired Earbuds are designed for use with Nintendo Switch, they'll also work with anything that has a 3.5mm jack. They also offer the same features as the other models of PowerA's Wired Earbuds, including 8mm drivers, three eartip sizes, and incline mic and mute controls. They come with the drawstring carrying bag mentioned above--which is in some ways even more enticing than the earbuds themselves.

Preorder at Amazon PowerA Wired Earbuds (Mario Kart) $16 (was $20)

PowerA's Wired Earbuds come in multiple other Nintendo- and Fortnite-themed models, including this Mario Kart-themed variant. They feature red and black design with Mario Kart decals on each earpiece, plus a drawstring pouch featuring a collage of in-game Mario Kart Motors logos. It's on sale for $16 (was $20).

See at Amazon PowerA Wired Earbuds (Pikachu Blossom) $14.40 ($20)

Pokemon fans can grab a Pikachu-inspired set of PowerA Wired Earbuds for just $14.40 (was $20). The color scheme for this model is orange, purple, and yellow--the left earpiece is purple and sports an icon of Pikachu's head and ears, while the right is orange with a lightning bolt. They come with their own drawstring bag featuring Pikachu faces, Pokeballs, and other decals.

See at Amazon PowerA Wired Earbuds (Fortnite) $16.49 (was $20)

For Fortnite collectors, PowerA's Wired Earbuds featuring the game's Banana character, Peely, are on sale for $16.49 (normally $20). They're identical in specs and features to all the previous models, but have their own unique colorway with a yellow right earpiece sporting Peely's face, and a blue left earpiece with a "Nana Nana" decal. The blue carrying bag features a pattern with various Peely illustrations, and a tag with the "Victory Royal" emblem.

See at Amazon PowerA Wired Gaming Headsets $30

PowerA also has a series of budget-friendly over-ear gaming headsets with Nintendo and Fortnite themes, including an amazing pink Kirby Mouthful headset that's available for $30. There's also a red and black Mario Kart headset that matches the design of the Mario Kart earbuds listed above, and two Fortnite models based on the characters Llambro and Drift.

Each model features 50mm drivers, on-ear controls for easy access, and a detachable boom microphone. As with the earbuds, don't expect these to match the performance of expensive alternatives like Razer or SteelSeries. However, the video game-themed skins make them fun collectibles, and they could serve as a backup headset if needed or as an entry-level option for younger players.

As mentioned above, Metroid Prime 4's release date is unknown, though Nintendo still claims it's launching in 2025. We're crossing our fingers that the arrival of new, official merch like these headphones could mean it's still on track for this year.

Regardless of when Prime 4 launches, fans at least have more cool Metroid-related releases to look forward to, including the upcoming Metroid Prime Visual Retrospective art book launching October 28. The clothbound hardcover clocks in at over 200 pages and includes concept art, development materials, and developer commentary on the first three mainline games in the series: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. This is one of the first times the Metroid Prime series has been given the premium art book treatment, and the book is produced by Piggyback, who is also responsible for other excellent art books and guides for games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Lego Marvel Infinity Gauntlet Amazon Deal Will Likely Disappear In A Snap

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 00:28
See at Amazon See at Target

Fans of the MCU's Infinity Saga can save big on Lego's Infinity Gauntlet display model at Amazon and Target. Normally $80, the Lego Marvel infinity Gauntlet is on sale for $46.58 at Amazon and $47 at Target. This deal nearly matches last year's Black Friday price of $45, so we doubt it will remain in stock for long.

Lego Marvel Infinity Gauntlet (76191) $46.58 (was $80) | 590 Pieces

The 590-piece Lego replica of the Infinity Gauntlet recreates Thanos' prized possession from Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. It's not a wearable glove, but it does have articulated fingers, so you can pose the gauntlet in a finger-snapping position, just like Thanos.

The completed build measures 12.5 x 5 x 4 inches and can be displayed on the brick-built stand. Like other Lego Marvel display models, it comes with a nameplate. Of course, it also includes all six Infinity Stones.

The Infinity Gauntlet is part of Lego's build-and-display Marvel model series for adults.

See at Amazon See at Target

Lego has released other Marvel gauntlets over the years, but unfortunately other models are out of print and sell for inflated prices on the reseller market. Wolverine's Adamantium Claws from X-Men '97, for instance, released in 2023 for $70 and was retired late last year. You can get the 596-piece Wolverine Adamantium Claw for $108 at Amazon. Lego also retired Iron Man's Nano Gauntlet at the end of 2024. The 675-piece build also sold for $70, but now you'll pay nearly $125 for Iron Man's Nano Gauntlet on Amazon.

If you're interested in the Infinity Gauntlet, you'd probably also like Lego's series of Marvel busts. Lego just launched a 379-piece Iron Spider-Man Bust on August 1 for $60. Back in June, Lego released the 436-piece Iron Man MK4 Bust for $60. Both builds are part of Lego's Infinity Saga series for adults. Along with a buildable display stand and name placard, these sets include a minifigure with a little stand of its own.

Monster Hunter Wilds Patch Notes: New Update Adds Tougher Endgame Content, Weapon Changes, More

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 00:08

A new update for Monster Hunter Wilds is due later today, August 12 at 7:30 PM PT / 10:30 PM ET, and Capcom has shared what you can expect in the latest patch notes. First up is the size of the patch, which differs depending on the platform. PS5 players can expect a 3GB-sized update, where as Xbox Series X|S and PC players will only need to download a 2GB-sized update. If PC players decide to also download the high resolution texture pack, then that gets bumped up to 6GB.

Game director Yuyua Tokuda went into some specific detail as to what you can expect from today's patch in a Director's Letter. Endgame content originally intended for title update three, due this September, has been moved up to this update, so you can expect a new set of high-difficulty quests, as well as the appearance of nine-star monsters if you are HR 100 or higher.

The update also brings in some adjustments for various weapons. With this update the Sword & Shield has seen a buff to its Guard Slash move to help increase the usage of Counter Slash. The Charge Blade has also made it so that "increased damage via enhanced phials is reflected while in Power Axe Mode, making it easier to maintain high damage output while keeping Power Axe Mode active."

Battlefield 6 Beta Reportedly Reached A Massive Player Count

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 00:01

The first weekend of Battlefield 6's open beta was received positively by fans and put up huge numbers on Steam, but how many people in total tried it out? According to research firm Oppenheimer, the beta reached more than 5 million people during the August 7-11 window that included the early-access period and the open beta for everyone.

Oppenheimer said the beta had "superior polish, excellent netcode, and an authentic Battlefield experience." Many players might agree with this, as the sentiment around the beta was largely positive--though of course the beta was not without its issues and complaints. In particular, some people complained about the Secure Boot requirement on PC.

EA has not confirmed a player figure for the Battlefield 6 beta thus far, but the company did say in a social media post that this was the "biggest open beta" in Battlefield's history. GameSpot has contacted EA in an attempt to get more details.

Helldivers 2 Teases Halo 3: ODST Crossover Ahead Of Its Xbox Launch

Tue, 08/12/2025 - 23:45

Helldivers 2 is landing on Xbox Series X|S later this month, and in a new trailer celebrating the former PlayStation exclusive's arrival on the Microsoft hardware, there was a brief tease for a beloved piece of Halo history right at the end. Here's the trailer, which isn't referencing the Costco Guys with its use of POD's hit 2002 single, Boom.

Right at the end of the trailer, there's a brief scene that looks like it's set in the city of New Bombasa from Halo 3: ODST, complete with a Helljumper drop-pod landing from orbit and a few jazzy notes from the ODST soundtrack for good measure. Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead had previously spoken about the possibility of crossovers shortly after the game launched last year, saying that if it made sense, the studio was open to it.

"Crossovers have to make sense. We don't want to be Kingdom Hearts or Fortnite. If we do them, we want them to add something--feelgood, fun, a memory, but we like for it to make sense and fit in," Arrowhead said at the time.

Pokemon McDonald's Japanese Happy Meal Promotion Ends In Disaster

Tue, 08/12/2025 - 23:33

The Pokemon Company and McDonald's have teamed up before, but not without attracting undo attention from would-be scalpers. Earlier this month, McDonald's Japan was forced to end its latest Pokemon Happy Meal promotion a few days early because the supply of cards quickly ran out amid chaotic crowds clamoring for the cards that came with them.

According to Nintendo Soup, scalpers drove most of the demand for Pokemon cards and many of them abandoned their Happy Meals uneaten at the restaurants or on the streets outside. In some cases, the crowds inside the McDonald's restaurants were so unruly that the police had to be called.

The most-prized item from this giveaway was a McDonald's-exclusive Pikachu card featuring Pokemon's iconic creature ready to scarf a Happy Meal of his own. Aside from the scalpers who came away with the cards, the only real winners of this PR debacle were the pigeons who devoured the discarded meals.

Arc Raiders Won't Have Any More Playtests Until Its October Launch

Tue, 08/12/2025 - 23:22

Extraction shooter Arc Raiders launches in October, and while that date isn't too far off, don't expect an announcement of a new playtest between now and then. In a new post, developer Embark Studios explained that it's currently focused on whipping the game into shape, and it won't be appearing at Gamescom this month either.

"Our focus is now on polishing and expanding the experience, and putting all the learnings from Tec Test 2 into action ahead of release," Embark Studios wrote on X. "Just so you know, we're not planning additional public tests before launch. We've learned from our last announcement that it's crucial to keep expectations in check, so we also want to be clear that we won’t be at Gamescom. But don't worry, our launch campaign will kick off before you know it! We’ll have many more updates for you in the lead-up to launch."

The last playtest for Arc Raiders was well-received and was held in close proximity to the closed beta for Marathon, another extraction shooter. In development at Destiny 2 studio Bungie, Marathon has been rocked by claims of art theft and has been delayed indefinitely from its planned release date of September 23 this year. With positive hype around it already, Arc Raiders fans are seeing this announcement from Embark Studios as a confident step forward to the full release of Arc Raiders on October 30 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Upcoming Resident Evil Reboot Director Zach Cregger Shares Why He's Doing An IP Movie

Tue, 08/12/2025 - 22:55

Barbarians director Zach Cregger will mostly be currently busy with the press circuit for his just-released horror flick Weapons, but next up on the docket for the director is a Resident Evil movie. Cregger recently made an appearance on Ringer Movies' The Big Picture podcast, where he touched a little on what to expect from the film, as well as why he's opting for a big-name IP for his next project as opposed to another original film.

"It's gonna be not at all like Barbarian and Weapons," Cregger explained. "It's going to be a rock 'em, sock 'em … it's for me to play. And for me to turn my brain off and just make like a … Evil Dead 2 … get crazy with the camera." He also shared that Austin Abrams, who plays James in Weapons, is going to be "his guy," seemingly implying the actor will be featured in some capacity. "It's a weird, fun, wild story."

Cregger went on to say that his Resident Evil movie will be like a "real-time journey, where you just go deeper and deeper into the depths of Hell." He also stressed that it's a "love letter" to the original games, expressing his love for them. When questioned on the fact that Resident Evil is an IP movie as opposed to his previous works, he said how this was a fair point, but he's also never seen any of the earlier Resident Evil movies.
