Battlefield 6 Players Caused $70 Billion Of Virtual Property Damage During Open Beta
EA is celebrating destruction in Battlefield 6, revealing that players collectively caused over $70 billion worth of in-game property damage during the open beta. The developer is offering a collective community reward for reaching a certain level of destruction by the end of the beta period--but there's a long way to go to reach the $1 trillion goal.
Destruction is an important part of Battlefield 6, with the developers going back to Bad Company 2's comprehensive destruction to make sure the new title's destruction elements felt as satisfying as possible. To celebrate this feature, Battlefield Studios' Destruction Receipts project is tallying up the damage done by players--from buildings reduced to rubble, to crashed $100-million fighter jets--to put a real-world dollar value on the destructive chaos.
Players generated $70 billion worth of Destruction Receipts in the open beta, but EA is looking for a total of $1 trillion of damage dealt in order to unlock a collective reward: the exclusive Community Destruction Skin for the M/60.

Battlefield 6's record-breaking first open beta has come and gone, and now the developers are starting to sift through player feedback and bug reports. One of the issues in the crosshairs is the reported "super bullet" causing unexpectedly fast time-to-kill rates.
BF6's principal game designer Florian Le Bihan took to X following the end of the open beta to ask players for videos of "suspected super bullet/unexpectedly fast TTD" bugs. A number of players have reported having this issue in the Battlefield beta, with some streamers even experiencing the issue live on stream. The unusually quick TTD (time to death or time to down) bug causes some players to be downed in just a few shots, and sometimes even when behind cover.
Players were quick to provide examples of the suspected bug, with some speculating that the server was slow to apply damage that had already been received, causing the full amount of damage to be applied to the player all at once after a short delay. Players have also reported taking damage or failing to heal when they should be at full health, including immediately after respawning--though this bug appears to only impact the health-bar UI and not players' actual hit points.

PUBG publisher Krafton's Sims-like InZoi is headed to PS5 in 2026. The developer announced today that InZoi will be released on Sony's console next year, but the company didn't have a specific release date to share, nor did it have information to reveal about an Xbox release.
The studio said an Xbox release is "under consideration, but not yet confirmed." You can wishlist the game now on the PlayStation Store.
A life-simulation game, InZoi has players controlling "Zois" as as they shape their lives and personal experiences in the world.

By any measure, Battlefield 6's first open beta was a massive success that reached over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam, and over 5 million people reportedly took part across all platforms between August 7 and 11. The early word of mouth has been largely positive, but there are still improvements to be made. In particular, Battlefield Studios has acknowledged fan feedback regarding the helicopter controls in Battlefield 6, and indicated that adjustments are coming.
Battlefield lead producer David Sirland fielded a request on X about adopting the helicopter controls of Battlefield 4. While Sirland indicated this won't be happening, he did say that "a large pass on helicopter flight is in progress and coming after beta for testing." Sirland later added that the devs are examining the flight model and will make further adjustments based on fan feedback and the team's internal goals for the feature.
Fans haven't been shy about sharing their very strong opinions on Battlefield 6 since the beta, and one of the most common complaints is that the maps feel too small. Other players objected to the Secure Boot requirement on PC, which was meant to deter cheaters. EA's SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team later specified that the Secure Boot "was not intended to be a silver bullet" against cheaters. Instead, it's meant to be another weapon in EA's arsenal against cheating.

The saga of Subnautica 2 has played out in the court of public opinion this summer, and now it's taken another step towards an actual courtroom. Krafton has officially responded to the lawsuit filed by Unknown Worlds co-founders Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire, as well as former CEO Ted Gill--all three of whom were forced out of the studio.
Cleveland and his team have accused Krafton of delaying Subnautica 2 in order to prevent the publisher from paying Unknown Worlds a $250 million performance bonus. Via Kotaku, Krafton's response accuses the co-founders of valuing the $250 million bonus over delivering a more complete version of Subnautica 2. The filing goes even further and states that the co-founders were fired to prevent them "from permanently damaging Unknown Worlds' most valuable IP, the company itself, and its goodwill with its fans."
The $250 million bonus was supposed to be paid out to Unknown Worlds if the company met certain financial goals in 2025, which would be almost impossible if Subnautica 2 doesn't get an early-access release this year. After fans openly called for a boycott of Subnautica 2, Bloomberg reported that Krafton has extended the bonus period into next year to allow the Unknown Worlds team a better chance of meeting those benchmarks and earning $25 million to be split among 40 employees. The remaining $225 million of the bonus would have gone to the former leadership team.

There were some severe consequences for BioWare last year when Dragon Age: The Veilguard stumbled out of the gate and failed to meet EA's sales expectations. EA laid off a lot of BioWare's staff and left a much smaller team working on the next Mass Effect game. But there may be a silver lining to that, according to former BioWare employee Mark Darrah.
Darrah--who served as an executive producer on the first three Dragon Age games before leaving BioWare--recently joined MrMattyPlays on YouTube and shared his belief that the remaining BioWare devs should "scapegoat" The Veilguard to get every resource they need from EA.
"To be frank, the Mass Effect team is going to be able to point to The Veilguard and say, 'We should steer away from some of these things, because look what happened,'" said Darrah. "I would honestly encourage that team to scapegoat Veilgard as much as they need to to get what they need from the organization, whether it's true or not."

More than three years after its original launch on Nintendo Switch, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition has been rereleased. Notably, the MSRP for the new physical edition is $30, half the price of the original and the digital version on the eShop. Collectors will be even more pleased by Rockstar's decision to put all three games on the Switch game card this time. You can buy GTA: The Trilogy's new Switch physical edition at Amazon.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition for Switch $30 | New 2025 editionAmazon is the only major US retailer with a store page for the new edition, but we'd expect more stores to list it soon. At this time, Amazon has a broad delivery estimate of one to two months, but this will likely change. Amazon is typically conservative with these estimates, and the current window probably stems from not having any units on hand just yet.
Retailers, including Amazon, still have the old edition on their storefronts, so make sure you buy the right version. The old edition has a text box next to the ESRB rating that reads "Download required. See back." The new edition drops that disclaimer, as it no longer requires an additional download from the eShop.
The original physical version only included two of the games on the game card, forcing players to download Vice City from the eShop. With Vice City and updates for each game, Switch players typically needed to download close to 10GB of data from the eShop.
We can't think of another situation quite like this one for a Nintendo Switch release, especially when you consider the new, better physical edition also happens to be half the price of the old one.

A Game Changer Video Game? Dropout.TV's Sam Reich Is Thinking About It
Dropout.TV is becoming a surprisingly big name in the streaming world as an inexpensive service that puts its fans and employees above maxing out profits. Game Changers is already an ambitious show, but now host and Dropout CEO Sam Reich is thinking about what it would mean to bring Dropout into the world of video games, according to an interview with Kotaku.
Reich told Kotaku that if Dropout did release a game, it would be based on either Game Changers or Dimension 20, the service's successful tabletop roleplaying series (which played a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden earlier this year).

From their massive open worlds, unfathomably large download sizes, and seemingly endless checklists of collectibles, missions, and side quests, games are so much nowadays. It's really no fault of the titles themselves that this formula works--it's tried, it's true, and it sells. But it does mean that I appreciate the occasional break from this exact mold of game. And Roger, a narrative game that can be completed within an hour and manages to do so much with so little, offers exactly that kind of break, and I'd love it if it became the standard rather than the exception.
I'm not too interested in giving away the most explicit details of And Roger right here and now. For just about five dollars on your PC and/or Switch, you can see all it has to say over the course of a slightly long lunch break. I've nothing to gain from telling you what it is, but you've got everything to lose by not just experiencing it firsthand. It covers a lot of ground in a pretty short amount of time, and its gut punches are as hard as they are dizzying.
And Roger plays like an interactive graphic novel--think 2018's Florence, which depicted the highs and lows of the titular character's romance and journey of self-discovery across comic-like panels and minigames. And Roger appears to take some cues from the award-winning narrative title, communicating its story largely through brief mechanical interludes that break up its often distressing narrative. However, where Florence basked in the glow of new love and the ennui of uncertainty, And Roger drops players into the confusing perspective of its main character and leads them on what can only be described as an expertly crafted emotional rollercoaster that tightly skirts the boundaries between different genres of stories.

Borderlands 4 includes new features for the series, one of which is double-jumping. Developer Gearbox didn't feel the need to justify the feature's existence, because Borderlands 4 was developed with the aim of allowing players to do what they want, even if it doesn't make sense.
"The biggest commitment we made in Borderlands 4 is to give the players what they want," Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said in an interview with the Epic Games Store. "We just said, 'F**k it. You can double jump.'"
The game doesn't take any time to provide a "rationalization" for why this is possible. "You're literally in the air, and you hit the jump button again, and you'll get another jump out of it. Does it feel good? Is it fun? Then I don't give a s**t if it makes any sense," Pitchford said.

The Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC Controller has a blistering 8,000Hz polling rate in wireless and wired modes--32 times faster than the V3 Pro for Xbox in wireless mode and eight times faster in wired mode. The V3 Pro 8K also utilizes new thumbstick technology, has upgraded grips, and greatly improves the battery life. You can purchase the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC Controller for $200 at Amazon; it's ready to ship now and is eligible for Prime.
Outside of those upgrades, the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K has the same core features as the Xbox edition, including four remappable back triggers, two claw bumpers, microswitch buttons, custom profile support, and excellent ergonomics. For this reason, we'd recommend reading the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro for Xbox review we published last summer, as the vast majority of our commentary applies to the new 8K edition. The V3 Pro for Xbox was and still is a fantastic high-end controller for Xbox and PC. But if you have no need for Xbox console support, the V3 Pro 8K is the better pick for PC gaming thanks to the tech upgrades.
Both V3 Pro wireless models retail for $200, and just like the Xbox model, the PC-only 8K edition is also available in a wired-only Tournament Edition. The Tournament Edition price for the 8K is $120, whereas the original is $100.

Each element's bending ability gives the same basic benefit to the player using it, though the size of the benefit depends on the card being cast. Gabrielle went on to describe wearing a motion-capture suit on stage while Druckmann describes what her character is looking at and what she's doing. She equated it to being like a child, "when you didn't have the costumes necessarily ... and you wanted to to to escape and lose yourself into a world.
