One of the key talking points about Battlefield 6 pre-release has been around the Open and Closed weapons playlists for multiplayer. For Battlefield 6, the developers are focusing on an Open weapons setup where people can pick any weapon, regardless of their class. The traditional Battlefield setup was that every class has its own unique and exclusive weapons. People made a lot of noise about this and how they wanted a Closed setup, but data from the beta--which offered Open and Closed playlists--suggests statistically small differences in preference.

"The vast majority of players, after trying both playlist types, chose to stick with Open weapons. This reinforces our belief that Open weapons is the right path forward for Battlefield 6," the developer said in a blog post. "We observed mostly identical class pick rates with 1-2% difference at most."

Players in Open weapons performed slightly better, recording 0.2 more kills per hour in Conquest and 0.1 more kills per hour in Breakthrough versus Closed.

Halo: Season One Limited Edition Steelbook is down to $26.15 (was $64) and Halo: Season Two Limited Edition Steelbook is available at an all-time-low price of $28 (normally $50). We recommend grabbing these deals while you can--not only does Amazon's sale only last through October 8, The Halo: Season One Limited Edition Steelbook is often sold out, and with Season Two now on sale for its lowest prices ever, we expect these will be very popular. Luckily, if the 4K Steelbook Editions sell out, standard edition versions of Halo: Season One and Season Two are also available on 4K Blu-ray, regular Blu-ray, and DVD.

As for the steelbook itself, its design might be better than Season One--Master Chief once again graces the front, but he's also on artwork that spans the case interior.

After two decades of comic book movies dominating the box office, it looks like video game adaptations are the next big thing in Hollywood--and for Prime Big Deal Days, several of these movies and TV series are on sale at Amazon. The deals include recent releases like A Minecraft Movie and classics like the Angelina Jolie-starring Tomb Raider flicks. We've rounded up even more deals below. The discounts are live from October 7 to 8, so you only have a couple days to take advantage of these price cuts.

If you have yet to add them to your Blu-ray collection, the new Sonic the Hedgehog live-action films are available at big discounts. The Sonic the Hedgehog: Bonus Stage Edition, which contains a bunch of extra bonus materials alongside the film, is on sale for $24 (was $51) You can also pick up steelbook editions of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and grab a box set of the Knuckles live-action series to complete the collection--at least until Sonic the Hedgehog 4 arrives in theaters.

Halo fans can pick up 4K steelbook editions of the live-action TV series at big discounts, too. Halo: Season One is just $26 and Season Two is $28. You can pick up the first season of The Last of Us on DVD if you want to experience the post-apocalypse in 480p.

With The Game Awards coming up on December 11, it's time to start getting serious about catching up on your GOTY 2025 backlog. That could be an expensive undertaking at any other time, but thankfully, Prime Big Deal Days is here with plenty of discounted titles to help you achieve that goal. One of those discounted titles is Game Of The Year nominee shoo-in, Split Fiction--normally $50, you can grab physical copies of the critically acclaimed co-op adventure for just $40 on all platforms. Even though it's not the biggest discount ever, we still think it's worth picking up. We did give the game a 10 out of 10, after all.

In Split Fiction, you and another player will step into the shoes of aspiring writers Zoe and Mio as they journey through dangerous fantasy and sci-fi worlds of their own making. Trapped in this alternate universe by Rader Publishing's experimental simulation tech that steals the ideas of creatives, the two must work together to platform, puzzle-solve, and fight their way back to reality. It's one of GameSpot's highest-rated games of 2025, and it's not a title you should miss (especially now that it's on sale for $10 off the usual price).
