Baby Steps Punishes You In The Funniest Way If You Skip Too Many Cutscenes
Literal walking simulator Baby Steps is already a punishing affair, but the game has one last trick up its sleeve that might make certain players fume with rage.
If you skip enough cutscenes in the wacky and raunchy Baby Steps, you'll be treated (or penalized, depending how you look at it) with a meandering 28-minute long cutscene full of meta jokes and haphazard conversation topics, which user Cuttyflame shared on YouTube (per PC Gamer).
Baby Steps, which was made by Ape Out developers Gabe Cuzzillo, Maxi Boch, and QWOP creator Bennett Foddy, actively discourages players you skipping story cutscenes, requiring you to complete minigames that increase in complexity each subsequent time you try to skip a scene.

Company of Heroes developer Relic Entertainment is keen to make and release games faster, CEO Justin Dowdeswell said in a new interview, but the company isn't banking on AI to get there.
In an interview with GI.biz, Dowdeswell said one of the company's Achilles heels is that it has taken too long to release new games. "There's long stretches of time between game releases, and you lose touch with the players, people lose touch with what you're up to--and they generally cost a lot more, the longer they take," he said.
Part of what Relic will look to do in the future is "get to market more frequently," and that doesn't mean the company wants to lower the quality bar and simply ship things faster for the sake of it.

See at Amazon Star Trek spin-offs $17 - $169
Outside of the core series, we've seen several other terrific Star Trek series keep the fanbase engaged. Lower Decks is an animated spin-off that pokes fun at the franchise but is extremely on-point as a Star Trek show, and the Picard series has continued the adventures of the former Enterprise captain as he stepped out of retirement to once again thwart the Borg, reassemble his old crew, and take on one more challenge from Q.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has also been popular since it first aired, as this show leaned closer to the weekly format of old-school Star Trek to deliver classic adventures with a modern flair.
If Picard is your favorite captain, then you might want to check out the Picard Legacy Collection for a comprehensive look at the Starfleet legend's career. This is a starship-sized 54-disc collection that includes all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, all four TNG movies, and all three seasons of the recent Picard TV series. The Outer Worlds 2 Is Getting Some Pricy Customizable Xbox Controllers
The Outer Worlds 2 caused some waves among fans when it was set to be $80 at launch. Microsoft subsequently walked back the price to $70, but if you want to spend extra money, there's a pair of pricey Outer Worlds 2-inspired Xbox controllers heading your way.
Microsoft has announced that players can now purchase controllers adorned with The Outer Worlds 2's Moon Man and art from the game. But the most intriguing part of these controllers is that fans can customize the designs with Xbox Design Lab. For example, players can choose to go for metallic D-Pad and triggers, or opt in on rubber side and back grips.
There are two different controllers available. The standard Xbox wireless controller will be $95, while the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 will go for $185. The Elite model has more features including optional back paddles, thumbsticks with adjustable tension, and a shorter hair-trigger lock. While those controllers aren't cheap, they definitely feel in line with something that the game's Earth Directorate would put out into the universe.

Activision Teases News About Call Of Duty's Much-Loved Non-SBMM Playlists
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta added new playlists recently that only factor in skill "minimally," and that's something hardcore fans have wanted for some time. The feedback around these non-SBMM playlists has been pretty positive, and now Activision has said its development teams are "inspired" by the feedback from these tests, and the feedback around the beta so far in general.
The non-SBMM playlists in Black Ops 7 are referred to as "open" playlists. Activision said it will have "some updates to share with everyone in the coming days" about their future in COD going forward.
Many are hoping to see these "open" playlists stick around for launch, and in fact, one report said that is indeed the plan. However, Activision has yet to make any official announcements.

Save On Yu-Gi-Oh Movie Steelbook Blu-Rays During Amazon Big Deal Days Sale
One of the big anime hits of the early 2000s was Yu-Gi-Oh, and decades later, this franchise still has a devoted fanbase. As Amazon Big Deal Days starts to wind down, there's still time to save some cash on several of the steelbook editions of the Yu-Gi-Oh movies on Blu-ray. Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie is available for $15.38 (was $30), while Yu-Gi-Oh: Bonds Beyond Time is on sale for $17.54 when you activate the coupon for it.
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie - Pyramid of Light $15.38 (was $30)Released in 2004, Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie - Pyramid of Light is set between the third and fourth seasons of the show. Yugi Muto and the spirit of Pharaoh Atem once again face off against their rival Seto Kaiba in a Duel Monsters tournament, but unbeknownst to them, this match is all part of a plan put into motion 5,000 years ago by the Egyptian lord of the dead, Anubis.
This version of the film is a barebones presentation, as it only has the English audio track on the disc, but the steelbook cover does feature a nice design based on the original promotional art and movie poster.
See at Amazon Yu-Gi-Oh: Bonds Beyond Time $17.54 (was $19.49)
Yu-Gi-Oh: Bonds Beyond Time was the second feature film in the franchise, and it hit cinemas in 2010. By this time, the original Yu-Gi-Oh series was long over and was followed by two successor series, Yu-Gi-Oh: GX and Yu-Gi-Oh: 5D's.
The film was designed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the franchise, and it teamed Yugi Moto up with the protagonists of the follow-up series--Yusei Fudo and Jaden Yuki--as they faced off against Paradox in a game of Duel Monsters that would decide the fate of the world.
The Bonds Beyond Time steelbook also features artwork based on the theatrical release materials, and for extras, it includes a flashback featurette alongside the English, Japanese, and Spanish dubs of the movie.

Near the end of September, EA disclosed a $55 billion deal to take the third-party video game publisher private under a new ownership group including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners, and the private equity firm Silver Lake. It's also the largest leveraged buyout (LBO) of all time, and it will require EA to settle $20 billion in debt. According to several prominent analysts, the fastest way for EA to reach that number is by shedding studios and selling some of them off.
According to a report by Polygon, multiple analysts believe that BioWare is a prime candidate to be sold because of the studio's struggles over the last decade. BioWare's Dragon Age: The Veilguard fell far below EA's expectations, and the studio was hit by numerous layoffs in the aftermath. A much smaller team at the studio is currently working on the next Mass Effect title, which may entice potential buyers.
EA is currently throwing its promotional muscle behind Battlefield 6, the first-person shooter that's competing with Activision's Call of Duty franchise. While that may mean DICE--the developer of the game's multiplayer mode--is safe from being sold at the moment, analysts suggest that could change if Battlefield 6 under-performs.

Nintendo Switch 2 ended its debut summer with record-breaking sales numbers, according to data from research firm Circana.
Sharing the firm's monthly sales report for August on Bluesky, Circana executive director Mat Piscatella stated that 2.4 million Switch 2 units were sold in the US during its first three months on the market, surpassing the record set by the PlayStation 4, which had sold 2.2 million units in its first three months. That makes Switch 2 the fastest-selling home console in the US through this timeframe.
Hardware - With 2.4M units sold LTD over its first 3 months market, Nintendo Switch 2 is now 5% ahead of the previous record setting pace of PlayStation 4, which sold 2.2M units during the 3 months ending January 2014.
— Mat Piscatella (@matpiscatella.bsky.social) October 8, 2025 at 9:02 AMPiscatella added that Switch 2 sales are pacing 77% ahead of the original Nintendo Switch when comparing their respective first three months on sale. Circana also credited Switch 2 for driving an 11% increase in spending growth in August 2025 compared to the same month in the previous year.
Continue Reading at GameSpotDead Space Fans Slam $35 Isaac Clarke Costume In EA's New Skate
Fans of the Dead Space series have expressed strong dissatisfaction over the pricing of a new crossover bundle in EA's free-to-play title, Skate, currently in early access. The bundle features a cardboard-style Isaac Clarke costume, a themed skateboard, the Necro Stomp emote, and several stickers. The bundle is priced at 3,350 San Van Bucks, the game's virtual currency, but the pricing structure forces players to spend a minimum of $35 to acquire the necessary in-game funds. While a USG Ishimura T-shirt is available for free, the cost of the full bundle has drawn criticism for being excessive.
While this isn't the first collab between Dead Space and Skate, as there was a free Isaac Clarke skin in Skate 3, the new bundle has continued the debate over microtransaction practices. Some players drew comparisons between the original Skate 3 unlockable and this new version, pointing out that when the costume was free, it felt more like a fun Easter egg than a monetized item. However, others have suggested the new costume's exaggerated cardboard look may be intentional, aiming for a Halloween costume aesthetic rather than a direct replica of Isaac Clarke's iconic armor. Even so, the $35 price tag remains a sore point.
On the left is Isaac Clarke from Dead Space in Skate 3. Model looks incredible & could only be obtained through a cheat code.
On the right is an Issac Clarke outfit in a bundle (pic included of bundle) on Skate 4. It costs roughly $30-$40 and looks horrible.
Idek what to say… pic.twitter.com/G4dd9Y76jr
However, not all community feedback has been negative. One Reddit user offered a more nuanced view of the game's direction: "On the one hand, I do get it. I would definitely have preferred this game to be a traditional, single-player Skate game where everything is included in the purchase price. On the other hand, I've been playing and loving the new Skate. You do get tons of cosmetics for free if the virtual dress-up part of the game is your bag. The biggest downside is that you only get a handful of items for free that are from real skating brands."

After a day of speculation and befuddlement, Nintendo has released a second animated short with a baby that shows Pikmin moving blocks, toys, and a pacifier around a room. However, the company still doesn't seem to be announcing a new video game, movie, or TV show--at least not yet.
On the Nintendo Today app, the company posted the new video, which is titled "Close to You" just like the first weird animated short from yesterday. However, this time Pikmin are seen in the baby's room as the instigators for the harmless mischievous. Other than the blue, yellow, and red creatures, the two videos seem identical. Neither mentions any other sort of Pikmin project.
Earlier this year, Shigeru Miyamoto did express his desire to create a Pikmin movie or TV series. The creator behind the franchise has helped make Pikmin shorts before, and Nintendo has them featured on a dedicated webpage.

A Borderlands 4 dataminer has claimed that the game might have featured one of the franchise's most polarizing characters at one point in its development. Having dug through files for the game, EpicNNG uploaded their findings online.
Warning: Spoilers for Borderlands 3 and 4 belowAfter spending a chunk of time on Kairos, players eventually run into the Siren Amara in Borderlands 4 as part of their quest to find the villainous Vile Lector. Amara was the playable Siren character first introduced in 2019's Borderlands 3, but EpicNNG believes that the files they uncovered pointed toward players originally teaming up with a different Siren at this point in the story: Ava.
Alright I guess we're gonna talk about it:
AVA WAS CUT FROM BORDERLANDS 4
There are numerous files related to her in the game, more specifically outlining that she was completely replaced by Amara late in development. This means yes, she was originally going to team up with… https://t.co/QF8ESnQp0p pic.twitter.com/tBoVNJ8hpq
The Siren-in-training made her debut in Borderlands 3, but over the years, she's become more hated than Claptrap due to her role in that game and her overall character arc. The files discovered by EpicNNG have several "Ava" titles, and Amara uses powers that are very similar to Ava's own Siren abilities that she inherited from her deceased mentor, Maya.
