How Star Wars: Zero Company Aims To Replicate The Gritty Wartime Feel Of Rogue One And The Clone Wars
After an official reveal at Star Wars Celebration Japan, new details on Star Wars: Zero Company have been revealed. One of the interesting things about the game is its setting, as the events of Zero Company will unfold during the Clone Wars. While the galactic civil war has been explored in detail, Zero Company will focus on the hidden stories of that conflict and the covert operations that took place. Thematically, the game draws upon Star Wars stories like the Clone Wars animated series, Rogue One, and its prequel series Andor, as well as classic World War II movies like the Dirty Dozen.
"The Clone Wars offers us a lot of the tools we need mechanically for the game, which is great," Bit Reactor creative director Greg Foertsch explained in an interview with GameSpot. "But it's also interesting, we haven't seen that kind of zoom level in the Clone Wars, and so it's a pretty unique spot to land that also offered a lot of great options for us from a game design perspective, to tell a really great story with some great mechanics added to it. That really opened the door for us to do a lot of things."
LucasFilm Games producers Orion Kellogg and Kelsey Sharpe added that the Clone Wars era allowed for "all sorts of places in that zone" where original stories could be told. The nuanced storytelling of the Clone Wars was a big influence on Zero Company, alongside the boots-on-the-ground atmosphere of Rogue One. Films like the Dirty Dozen also inspired the idea of how the Zero Company squad comes together, but as Sharpe noted, the first Star Wars film still stands as the guiding light for the game.

After being teased earlier this week, Star Wars: Zero Company was officially revealed at Star Wars Celebration Japan on Saturday. The cinematic trailer for the game introduced the primary cast of Zero Company: a group of covert specialists who players will control in this turn-based tactics game. Developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars: Zero Company will launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.
Set during the twilight of the Clone Wars, players will step into the shoes of former Republic officer Hawks, who leads a motley crew of specialists behind enemy lines. Some of the characters here include a Clonetrooper, a Jedi Knight, and a Mandalorian, all of whom are original characters created for the game. Bit Reactor says that players will embark on a campaign of tactical operations and investigations in Zero Company, and between missions, they can develop a base of operations and gather intelligence through their network of informants.

Solo Leveling is an action-fantasy anime based on the Korean manhwa series and light novel series of the same name. It's set in a fictional version of our world where inter-dimensional monsters invade Earth through mysterious portals that connect to dangerous dungeons, and these creatures can only be stopped by super-powered humans called Hunters. Hunters are divided into ranks, ranging from lowly E-class fighters and up to the elite S-class combatants who wield terrifying powers. The catch here is that a class cannot be improved upon, so if someone were to awaken as an E-class, they'd be stuck at that ranking for the rest of their life.

Created by Mega Bloks and originally released last November, the Skyrim-themed collector set lets fans build an posable display model of Alduin The World Eater. The 627-piece kit is affordably priced at just $50, which likely contributed to its popularity at launch.
This is one of three Mega Bloks sets based on Bethesda's role-playing games that hit store shelves in November. The other two building kits are themed around Fallout and were similarly challenging to find in stock over the holidays and earlier this year.
Continue Reading at GameSpotSunderfolk Review - A Great Tabletop-Inspired Game With Friends
Sunderfolk feels at its best when you're playing together with friends on the couch during what would have otherwise been an uneventful weekend afternoon. The game embodies two of my favorite aspects of tabletop RPGs: strategic teamwork and memorable anecdotes. It does struggle to be fun when you're playing solo, but that feels like it's clearly the wrong way to play the tabletop-inspired, turn-based tactical RPG, which really only comes together when different minds are working together to coordinate their respective perks and customized deck of card-based abilities to strategically accomplish the task at hand.
In Sunderfolk, each player takes control of one of six anthropomorphic heroes: an arcanist crow, a pyromancer axolotl, a ranger goat, a bard bat, a berserker polar bear, or a rogue weasel. After proving themselves capable bouncers in a tavern, the heroes band together to protect their home village, Arden, from a series of escalating threats and try to find a way to prevent the growing corruption of the magical tree that keeps everyone safe from the coming darkness. It's your typical run-of-the-mill fantasy setup, with would-be heroes rising to heed the call of adventure when no one else will, and for the first few hours, Sunderfolk doesn't do much to differentiate itself from contemporary stories.
You can play as the spellcasting arcanist, supportive bard, high-damaging ranger, bulky berserker, sneaky rogue, or explosive pyromancer. But then you get to really know the NPCs, and Sunderfolk's story starts to make its mark with its varied cast of characters, all of whom are voiced by actor Anjali Bhimani to replicate the experience of playing a tabletop adventure with a Game Master who is portraying all the non-hero characters. Bhimani does an incredible job adjusting the pitch, tone, accent, and speed of her voice to add a distinct flavor to every character, injecting a feeling of life into the narrative that makes it easy to love the heroes' allies and effortless to hate the villains. My friends and I were far more invested in saving the village and discovering what was going on upon meeting an adorable, one-armed penguin orphan named Amaia who was doing her best to keep Arden's mines running, especially once her cruel and lying uncle was introduced. We vowed to do everything to save the little bird (and desperately hoped her uncle would be revealed as the true big bad so that we'd have a chance to destroy him), and much of that emotional investment, as well as our feelings about the other characters, was derived from Bhimani's portrayal.

Remember the '90s? Epic Games sure does, and the company channeled that totally radical decade with a new ad promoting the new Slurp Rush map for Fortnite Reload. Featuring the talents of Eric Andre and Kyle Mooney, the ad is an homage to those commercials from the 1990s that were trying to sell disgusting sugary beverages and snacks to kids.
The defunct soft drink Surge, which was advertised in the late '90s with the tagline "Feed the Rush," is a specific target of parody here, but this type of ad was very common throughout that whole decade for pretty much anything that was aimed at kids, including those sugar-filled drinks and candy (like Gushers), as well as toys.
The reason for this ad's existence is to promote Fortnite's Reload mode, a battle royale mode which allows players to respawn automatically as long as one member of their team is alive, and takes place on relatively small islands that are based on past chapters of the main Fortnite battle royale. Earlier this week, Reload launched its third map, Slurp Rush, which is based on the Chapter 2 island. To celebrate the launch, Slurp Rush is the only Reload map you can play on right now, but after this period of exclusivity ends it will rotate every half-hour along with the existing two maps.
