Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Gets New Footage And A Release Date At Sony's State Of Play
Koei Tecmo released a new trailer for Ninja Gaiden Ragebound at Sony's State of Play, as well as the official release date: July 31.
Ragebound will have players taking not just one but two ninjas on a demon hunt: Ryu from the Hayabusa clan, and a kunoichi, Kumori, from the Black Spider clan. They'll be taking on a whole legion of demons with combo-based gameplay that aims to blend both the old-school side-scrolling gameplay of the NES games, and the hard-as-nails demon-slaying of the 3D games.
Check out the new trailer above, which not only shows off some extremely pretty new gameplay, but also the fact that the soundtrack will include remixes of the original NES game's soundtrack from some of the original composers.

The Sony State of Play on June 5 debuted the next game from the Bloodstained series. Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is coming in 2026, and the first trailer showed some of the metroidvania action we can expect.
The cutscenes for The Scarlet Engagement featured Victorian-style intrigue as guards spoke about castles and magic, but the real thrust of the game was in its combat. The gameplay looked very similar to Ritual of the Night, though it appeared to have much more emphasis on player customization. It's not clear if this game will have a single, specific protagonist like the first game.
The first Bloodstained was a crowdfunded game from Koji Igarashi, best known for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Ritual of the Night had a similar tone and spirit, with some of its own intricacies and new features that helped set it apart. Two retro demakes, Curse of the Moon and Curse of the Moon 2, were produced by Inti Creates, to help flesh out the world.

To kick off the June 4 State of Play, Enhance announced Lumines Arise. It is a follow-up to Lumines, a cult-classic puzzle game that first released on PSP in 2004 before being remastered in 2018.
Lumines is a rhythmic puzzle game where players try to create squares of the same color while placing 2x2 blocks. A timeline comes across the screen every few seconds to the beat of whatever songs are playing in the background, clearing groups of the same color when passing over them. Lumines Arise takes that core and applies the same psychedelic visual style to Lumines' gameplay that Tetris Effect did to Tetris' classic gameplay.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Enhance revealed more about what's new in Lumines Arise. There's a new mechanic called Burst, which players can use after filling up a meter by creating combos. Using Burst allows players to lock a formed square to the playfield, giving them a limited time to create a massive square of colors to score a lot of points. The DualSense will also vibrate in a way that keeps players in tune with the beat of the song. Lumines Arise will feature over 30 stages and include new music from Hydelic, who also worked on Tetris Effect's score.

Continue Reading at GameSpotSuda51 Reveals New PS5 Game Romeo Is A Dead Man
Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda51 have finally announced a brand-new game for PlayStation 5, and it as every bit of strange as you would expect it to be. Romeo Is A Dead Man is Suda51's first new game in over four years. Players will be controlling the hero Romeo Stargazer, an FBI investigator recently brought back to life by a mysterious device injected into his face by his grandfather. Resurrected as the masked hero "Dead Man," Romeo battles all sorts of undead with a variety of weapons including beam swords, machine guns, and what appear to be electric boxing gloves.
Suda51 describes the game as a "strong-style action game," with its aggressive blood sprays and inspirations from Japanese action shows like Kamen Rider. It's very much like previous titles by Grasshopper Manufacture but with a much more aggressive style of combat more like Devil May Cry. The trailer shows off a huge variety of weapons to use and all of their strange effects, like a freezing shot that turns enemies into ice, or electric gauntlets that chain energy across nearby targets. Enemies also have tons of strange effects, shooting massive beams as Romeo as he dodges them.
It's not known if this game will have open-world elements like in No More Heroes 3, but it's likely with the story involving chasing criminals across spacetime, there will be exploration alongside all the action as well. There were also some hints of vehicle use with some visuals of Romeo riding a motorcycle in the trailer, but we don't see any gameplay of it.

In the June 2025 State of Play, Capcom reintroduced Pragmata, an oft-delayed sci-fi game, and announced a planned 2026 release window. Pragmata was originally announced back in 2021, delayed six months later, and then dropped from Capcom's release calendar entirely. A space action-adventure game, the game follows an astronaut exploring an abandoned space station who encounters a mysterious young girl.
The trailer shown at State of Play is the most in-depth look Capcom has given of the game so far. It alternates briskly between cutscenes and what appears to be gameplay; a "captured on a PS5 Pro" disclosure displays early on in the footage.
The trailer starts with the young girl awakening the astronaut after he has been injured. The two begin to wander the space station where he has awoken, bounding through hallways and boosting across gaps, with the girl riding piggyback. They encounter a thin robot wielding a laser sword. During combat, it appears the astronaut can boost for a quick evade, utilize drones, and enlist the girl to use her hacking powers to "freeze" robots. Later in the trailer, you see the pair fight a larger, mech-like robot. The UI displays damage numbers as each hit collides with that enemy.

Ahead of the release of Remedy's new spin-off of Control, FBC Firebreak has revealed its recommended system specs for PC users. If you think your PC can handle enough raytracing to render millions of yellow sticky notes, here's your comprehensive breakdown for what's required of your PC at different settings. Remedy had previously said it's targeting PC-friendlier specs for FBC Firebreak, after some players felt that Alan Wake 2 was especially demanding.
The system specifications mentioned by Remedy are on the higher side, but not quite as gnarly as Alan Wake 2. It requires more recent GPUs with ray tracing capabilities for the best experience, but it's not anything too ridiculous for the recommended specs. The high-end configuration requires a rather powerful PC, recommending NVIDIA's RTX 4080 and an Intel Core i7-8700K with at least 16GB of RAM.

Two of the most iconic items in Mario Kart weren't always a lock to return for Mario Kart World for Switch 2. Producer Kosuke Yabuki said in a new interview that Nintendo "re-reviewed all the elements" of Mario Kart, and that included considering cutting the green shell and banana items.
The developers ultimately decided against it, but Yabuki told GamesRadar that the team challenged itself to think about traditional Mario Kart elements and consider, "Does it still make sense to include this item in Mario Kart World?"
For the green shell specifically, Yabuki said the item has been synonymous with Mario Kart "for time in memoriam," but Nintendo still wanted to make sure it still made sense for Mario Kart World.

Hello Games is bringing No Man's Sky to Switch 2 later this week, but players across all platforms are also getting another free update at the same time. The next update is called Beacon, and it expands on players' ability to become Overseers of planetary settlements and introduces towns inhabited by sentient robots called Autophage.
The full rundown of Beacon's features and the 5.7 update doesn't explain how the Autophage came into being. It does say that every inhabited planet has Autophage settlements that are only detectable by specialized equipment. The Autophage are secretive by nature, but players can join their settlements as Overseer. And if players have already completed They Who Returned, then the Autophage may invite them to personally visit one of their settlements.
Players can control the destiny of up to four settlements at a time as Overseer, while dealing various issues of governance, dispute resolutions, and calculated choices about what to build for the good of the colony. However, both human and Autophage settlements are still threatened by Sentinel attacks as well as "the vile insect queen and her brood," which consists of large and deadly bugs.

Fortnite had a very rocky launch with its AI-powered NPC, Darth Vader, last month. The battle royale's use of artificial intelligence may not be stopping there, either. Epic Games has unveiled a new AI-powered NPC Persona device, which will serve as a way for Fortnite Creative developers to add more interactive character elements to their maps.

— iFireMonkey (@iFireMonkey) June 3, 2025While we don't have details yet, this new tool could give Fortnite Creative developers the ability to add customizable NPCs, who can talk to their players in real time, to their experiences. Epic Games officially unveiled the tool during their Unreal Fest 2025 presentation in Orlando, Florida.
An AI-powered version of Darth Vader was added to Fortnite and its Star Wars-themed season late last month. The NPC, complete with a Google-developed AI model trained on voice clips recorded by James Earl Jones, could actively respond to player comments and commands. This involved the character recounting its history in the Star Wars universe, commenting on in-game mechanics, and making some of the most inappropriate and offensive comments you could imagine.
Continue Reading at GameSpotWill Your Switch 2 Arrive In Time? It's The Question On Everyone's Mind
On the eve of the Nintendo Switch 2's launch, there's one question on everyone's mind: When, exactly, will the shiny new console they preordered arrive?
It's a question that is surprisingly difficult to answer. While one might assume Switch 2 preorders to arrive on launch day, June 5, one look at social media shows that is far from the case. There is frustration from those with Switch 2 preorders who have had their preorders canceled last minute. Others are dealing with vague arrival times that makes it unclear if it will arrive on launch day or some time later. Some have preorders that are set to arrive almost a week later, adding to the confusion.
Among those of us here at GameSpot, there are at least two people who preordered at Target who apparently won't get their Switch 2 orders until June 11. Another who ordered from Walmart is set to have theirs delivered by launch day, but the exact timing is unclear, with Walmart stating it will arrive before 10 PM despite previous guarantees of delivery by 9 AM.

It's a herculean task to pick out a new display for your computer. They're not cheap (and that's definitely not going to change in 2025), and there are so many of them. Some are better for office work, some are better for gaming, and some are so good that they can handle both with aplomb. A variety of companies showed their latest displays off at Computex, the annual computing convention held in Taipei, Taiwan, and these are the screens from the show that are worth keeping your eye on, both figuratively and literally.
OLED is getting better and betterOLED displays can be stunning, with perfect blacks and vibrant colors making for a stunning picture (as long as you can stand OLED flicker). But there have long been well-founded concerns about burn-in. The last thing you want to see when you're trying to play an immersive first-person RPG is the ghost of your taskbar at the bottom of the screen. But thanks to built-in features like MSI's OLED Care, this problem is getting better. The company showed off a monitor it's been running with its OLED Care 2.0 tech that has remained on for three years with a static image showing for eight hours a day--with about an hour of burn-in prevention across that time--and no signs of burn-in to be found. These new monitors will ship with OLED Care 3.0, an improved version of the tech. In other words, OLED is A-OK.
MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 - Hyper-fast Refresh and AI OLED CareThe name might be a mouthful, but this monitor has some great features to make note of. The 27-inch, 1440p display offers a maximum refresh rate of 500Hz--that's up to 500 frames per second, eSports players--and is rated with VESA ClearMR 21000 and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certifications. The former indicates a very high level of clarity in motion; ClearMR 21000 is the highest possible rating and indicates that the screen has 195 clear pixels for every blurry one. True Black 500 rates the screen's contrast and color; 500 is a mid-range number in terms of ratings, which go up to True Black 1000, but it's still an excellent place for a screen to be color and contrast-wise.

XDefiant's days have been numbered since Ubisoft announced that the game would be shut down in December 2024. An announcement shared on XDefiant's X page said that the shooter didn't gain enough traction with players and that it was too much to "sensibly continue."

It's a long journey that Ubisoft and the team's working on the game were prepared to make until very recently. But unfortunately, the journey became too much to sensibly continue."

April Fool's Day pranks in the gaming world have been coming true more often lately, Sometimes that's because companies decide after the fact to roll out as real what was once a joke. Other times, it's because companies use the "holiday" prank to announce new products. It can get confusing, but in the case of CRKD's limited-edition Goat Simulator controllers, seeing is baaa-lieving. They're real, and their uncommon form factors and colorful artwork make them a sight to behold--and actually hold.
Tying into the Goat Sim franchise's 10th anniversary, CRKD's Nitro Deck for Switch and the NEO S controller for Switch, mobile, and PC, have both been given goat makeovers, complete with the character's signature stretchy tongue roaming all over the face of either gamepad. You may know these controllers from past limited-edition models like the CRKD Fortnite collection from earlier this year. There's also the Fortnite Festival-specific edition for the musically inclined.
The Nitro Deck is a docking station into which you insert your Switch screen. It's compatible with either the classic Switch or the Switch OLED, and the USB-C-based dock locks the screen securely into place--I tried shaking mine out for science, and I (thankfully) failed.

June is full of celebrations, including Pride Month, Men's Health Month, ALS Awareness Month, and Black Music Month, and now one more can be added to the list: Video Game Month. Many events are free and open to the public, where citizens can explore, play, and connect with Toronto's gaming and digital landscape.

Continue Reading at GameSpotYou're Gonna Need To Upgrade Your Gaming Setup If You Want To 100% Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour
Like Astro's Playroom and Aperture Desk Job before it, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour seems to be a really fun, immersive little tech demo for players to learn all about what their shiny new toys and accessories can do. However, unlike Astro's Playroom and Aperture Desk Job, many players were irked to discover that Welcome Tour costs another $10 on top of the $450-$500 those same players are throwing down for the privilege. But today, eagle-eyed players exploring Nintendo of Japan's product page for Welcome Tour (via Nintendo Soup) noticed a tidbit that might irk less-spendy players a little more.
For those who can't read Japanese, the bottom of the page has a notice stating that three of the minigames in Welcome Tour require separate peripherals. While it doesn't state what the games are precisely, one will require a USB camera, one will require a Switch 2 controller with the GL/GR buttons, and one will require that your Switch 2 is plugged into a 4K TV.
Granted, Nintendo isn't asking players to buy a Steel Battalion controller or anything;, in two cases, it's equipment players may already own. For the USB camera, the Switch 2 actually supports pretty much any old USB camera one may have lying around the house, plus it's not like anyone needed more reasons to throw down for that Piranha Plant camera. As for 4K TVs, around two-thirds of homes in the U.S. own one already. But the controller is the odd one out. The GL/GR buttons are specifically the new, programmable buttons located on the underside of the Switch 2 Charging Grip controller and the new Pro controller.
