On the 30th January 2019, Dr. William Raffe from the UTS Games Studio co-hosted an industry expert panel as part of the Interactive Entertainment (IE) conference, in a partnership with A/Prof Michael Hitchens (Macquarie University) and Dr. Dale Patterson (Griffith University).
We are happy to share that the UTS Games Studio has been successful in participating in the 2019 Sydney Festival.
IMMERSE, a one-of-a-kind project, consisted of 360-degree video projections that morphed and changed in response to live performances of classical and electronic music. This new collaborative project was created for the UTS Data Arena, an interactive audiovisual space.
IMMERSE originated from the idea that all new knowledge builds on past knowledge. The music performed reflects, abstracts and contemplates works that have gone before.
On the 15th November 2018, the Interaction Design and Games Discipline at the UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT hosted a panel of local games industry workers to share their experiences with getting into the games industry in Australia.
The UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT) Spring Prototype Exhibition was held on the 15th of November and saw 36 high achieving student groups proudly present their work.
The inaugural FEIT Student Game Jam, organised by Dr William Raffe and Dr Jaime Garcia and funded by the 2018 MIDAS Teaching and Learning Grants, was held on the 12th and 13th of November.
