Babylon 5 Complete Series On Blu-Ray Gets Biggest Discount Yet
Babylon 5: The Complete Series on Blu-ray
See at AmazonBlu-ray: $12 (was $23) | 4K Blu-ray: $21 (was $34)
See at AmazonSci-fi fans can save big on Babylon 5: The Complete Series at Amazon. The Blu-ray box set carries a retail price of $135, but Prime members can add this 21-disc collection to their media shelves for only $52.49 during the retailer's Prime Day 2025 sale (July 8-11). This is by far the best price yet for Babylon 5 on Blu-ray.
Babylon 5: The Complete Series is just one of many awesome science fiction TV series on sale for a great price during Prime Day. We've included a list of sci-fi highlights at the bottom of this article.
Babylon 5: The Complete Series on Blu-ray $52.49 (was $135)The box set contains all 110 episodes remastered in 1080p. It also includes The Gathering, the TV movie that served as Babylon 5's pilot episode in 1993. Babylon 5 ran for five seasons before wrapping in 1998. In total, this 21-disc box set features nearly 79 hours of '90s sci-fi goodness.
What makes this version of Babylon 5 notable compared to other releases over the years is that it's the first time the show has ever been remastered in high definition, giving fans a sharper look at J. Michael Straczynski's groundbreaking show. Released during the golden age of '90s sci-fi, Babylon 5's use of CG technology to craft its space station and interstellar dogfights put Star Trek to shame, as its rival still relied heavily on practical effects and models.
If you've never watched it, Babylon 5 is set on the titular space station and features a melting pot of human and alien cultures striving for intergalactic peace. Of course, sinister forces would rather see war consume the galaxy, and each season focused on growing threats to stability across the cosmos.
See at Amazon Babylon 5: The Road Home Blu-ray: $12 (was $23) | 4K Blu-ray: $21 (was $34)You can pair the series box set with The Road Home, the well-received CGI animated movie that released direct-to-video in 2023. Amazon has the standard Blu-ray edition for $12 (was $23) and the 4K Blu-ray version for $21 (was $34).
Babylon 5: The Road Home is the first piece of Babylon content with a 4K Blu-ray release. It's the seventh Babylon 5 film. Outside of The Gathering, which is included in the Blu-ray box set, the othe five films haven't been released on Blu-ray. You can find DVD versions of several of them, but if you really want to own all six released prior to The Road Home, Babylon 5: The Complete Collection on DVD is available for around $90. This set comes with all five seasons, the movies, and the short-lived spin-off series, Crusade.

Amazon's Prime Day 2025 sale is here, bringing huge discounts on various anime Blu-rays, including big price cuts to classics like Dragon Ball. While not every Dragon Ball Blu-ray is discounted in the sale, you can still grab multiple seasons of the the anime for rougly $25 each (normally $45 each). A slate of Dragon Ball Z films are included in the sale as well, including Resurrection F, which sees Frieza escape his hellish torment in the afterlife and power up for his rematch against Goku, and Super Hero, which pits everyone's favorite Namekian Piccolo against his adopted Saiyan son Goku's son, Gohan.
See all Dragon Ball Blu-ray dealsYou can also pick up multiple releases from a couple of Dragon Ball Z sequel series. This includes every episode of Dragon Ball GT in a DVD box set for $20 (was $70). While it wasn't as widely adored as Z when it first aired, it's still worth checking out this series while it's on sale. Dragon Ball GT sought to recapture the magic of the original Dragon Ball series by transforming Goku back into a fun-loving kid who teams up with a squad of allies to travel across the cosmos.
Many years later, Dragon Ball returned with Dragon Ball Super, and several of those seasons are part of the sale, too. Only parts 1, 4, and 10 are discounted, but that's a decent chunk of all-out action that's primarily focused on the Goku Black and the Tournament of Power arcs. Part 10 is especially memorable as it sees Goku attain a new level of power in a last-ditch effort to prevent the end of his universe. There are several other discounts at Amazon this week, and you can check out all the Dragon Ball Blu-ray deals below.

Ubisoft has laid off a number of employees at its Red Storm studio, which has most recently focused on a number of VR initiatives for the publisher, as well as supporting development on titles such as XDefiant.
As reported by IGN, Ubisoft has cut 19 jobs at Red Storm, citing "ongoing, targeted restructuring and global cost-saving efforts" for its reasoning.
Ubisoft released a full statement to IGN, which reads, "Today, Ubisoft made the decision to eliminate 19 roles at Red Storm Entertainment. This step is part of our ongoing, targeted restructuring and global cost-saving efforts, and reflects the needs on the studio’s projects. While this was not an easy decision, it was a necessary one given our operational priorities. We remain committed to supporting those affected with comprehensive severance packages, extended health-care benefits, and career transition assistance. We deeply appreciate their hard work and the impact they’ve had on Ubisoft."

When Wizards of the Coast introduced the concept of Universes Beyond to Magic: The Gathering in 2021, there was a fair amount of skepticism and worry. Universes Beyond is the moniker used to label cards and sets printed for Magic: The Gathering that exist outside the canonical story of the planes and characters of Magic. Though Universes Beyond could be seen as a sort of creativity-fostering catch-all, more often than not it simply allows Magic: The Gathering to explore different IPs that exist outside of its universe, while adapting those characters and concepts into mechanics and gameplay that fit right into the 30-year-old trading card game. Essentially, it’s Magic’s way to cross over with beloved franchises, while also allowing those IPs to add trading card game adaptations to their portfolios without creating a separate, dedicated game.
When this experiment into licensed IP was announced, Magic’s head designer Mark Rosewater said that Universes Beyond would only exist in “eternal” formats and stay out of Magic’s more competitive Standard format. This decision would allow players to choose to engage with outside IP like The Walking Dead, Street Fighter, Fallout, or Assassin’s Creed in casual or less-sanctioned formats of play, or ignore it entirely if they so wished.
Fast forward to 2025, however, and Universes Beyond has evolved into a different beast. Not only does it make up half of Magic: The Gathering’s tentpole set releases for the year, but with the release of the Final Fantasy set in June, Universes Beyond is now legal in all competitive formats of the game, with Standard the last to include it. Herein lies the problem.

Twenty years ago at E3 2005, Sony showed off a Killzone 2 video as an example of the PlayStation 3's power over its rival console, Microsoft's Xbox 360. However, Sony later admitted that the Killzone 2 video wasn't actually gameplay footage and that it was meant to be a "target render" for the team to achieve. Now, former Xbox boss Peter Moore has shared that he knew all along that the Killzone 2 demo was "BS."
While speaking with The Game Business, Moore recalled that Sony pulled a similar trick to outshine the Dreamcast when he worked for Sega. Sony essentially tried to adopt the strategy a second time to overshadow Xbox 360's launch.
"It was exactly the same tactics of creating a very expensive movie," said Moore. "But when the game came out, it was completely BS. I knew it that night when I watched it. I thought there's no way they're delivering this experience. They were doing the same thing to us as they did with Sega, which is go: 'Alright, cute little Xbox 360 coming out, but the big boys will be out with the PlayStation 3, so you should hang around and wait for that. Because look what we can do.'"
Continue Reading at GameSpotBrazil Takes Issue With Nintendo Bricking Switch 2s
A consumer rights watchdog in Brazil has launched a legal challenge against Nintendo for its policy of "bricking" the consoles of users who violate the console's terms of service. This policy is a new addition to Nintendo's user agreement. The change took effect on May 7, just a month before the Nintendo Switch 2 launched. Procon-SP, the São Paulo branch of the Brazilian Consumer Protection and Defense Program, has raised a complaint with Nintendo itself, claiming the policy violates consumer rights.
Via IGN, reports of "bricked" consoles have emerged since the Switch 2's launch. Affected users have speculated that bans result from the use of flash memory cards generally, and the MIG Switch device in particular, both of which can be used for piracy. A bricked console cannot access the internet and will display the error code 2124-4508. The ban encompasses paid online features like GameChat and online multiplayer, but also unpaid ones, like downloading patches or verifying Game-Key carts.
Furthermore, it is the console itself that is banned, not just the user account of the offender. This means that purchasing a Switch 2 secondhand could result in buying a "bricked" console, one that cannot access any of the console's online features. According to IGN, this has already happened. Nintendo has stated that such a ban is permanent.

Bethesda is reportedly full-steam ahead on the Fallout franchise with multiple projects in the fan-favorite RPG series supposedly in development.
Appearing on the Friends Per Second podcast, VGC journalist Jordan Middler made the aforementioned claim, saying, "There are multiple Fallout projects in development." He then goes onto cheekily suggest that one of them is even "that one that I'm sure you're all wanting," teasing a possible remaster of Fallout 3 among the crop of upcoming projects.
Middler had little other concrete news about the exact nature of these upcoming Fallout projects, except that it's "not far enough along" that any of us will be playing one of these games in the immediate future, but even without that knowledge, it's hardly surprising news to hear. Fallout, and Bethesda's other major franchise Elder Scrolls, have long been the among the upper echelon of Xbox's portfolio, and were key factors in Microsoft's $7.5 billion purchase of Bethesda.

A small update arrived to Black Ops 6 on July 8. The developer's patch notes detail bug fixes and improvements for multiplayer and Zombies, including changes to Grief mode and the new Abomination Challenge mode.
On the multiplayer side, the update fixed a bug in Black Ops 6 that previously caused players to be revealed when using the RC-XD scorestreak. It also addressed an issue where the Commando default loadout class would not have an extra piece of lethal equipment. The developer says various stability issues were also fixed, but the specific details of these weren't provided in the patch notes.
For Zombies, the update made adjustments to Season 4's new Abomination Challenge limited-time mode. The developer has reduced the amount of damage Mo takes from the Aetherella Trap, and it addressed an issue where Mo could sometimes take a large amount of damage when spawning near a player. Previously, the challenge for killing Mo with a trap would not award the "Abomination Challenge Completion" calling card and Hidden Power GobbleGum, but the update fixes this error, and it should now award the appropriate rewards.

Ready Or Not Dev Clarifies Content Changes, Rejects Accusations of Censorship
Ready or Not developer VOID Interactive faced backlash in June for "censoring" the game to comply with the console certification process. The developer has defended its choices as not fundamentally altering Ready or Not's violence or its grim tone, but instead making minimal alterations to ensure compliance with the requirements of other platforms. In the wake of the backlash, VOID Interactive has released a new statement that clarifies exactly what content has been altered, going as far as to include "before" and "after" images to illustrate changes.
The statement emphasizes that no major changes have come to Ready or Not's shootouts. Players can still sever the limbs of foes with gunfire and it still includes plenty of blood and guts. However, players can no longer dismember the dead bodies of enemies. Elsewhere, the update removes nudity, softens an allusion to child sexual-abuse material, and replaces a convulsing NPC with a sleeping one. The statement elaborates, "The effects of gore and violence -- key to the game’s immersive realism -- have not been toned down...we’ve only made changes where absolutely required, and only to the letter of the regulations -- no further."
The statement has not halted the backlash. Portions of the game's community has continued to review bomb Ready or Not. While the overall rating is steady at "very positive," recent reviews have plummeted to "mostly negative." Multiple reviewers claim the changes have had a dramatic effect on the game's tone. One says, "It now feels like just another generic tactical shooter, weighed down by clunky AI and stripped of the atmosphere that set it apart." Other reviews find the controversy incredibly silly, with one reviewer advising the aggrieved to "touch grass."
Continue Reading at GameSpotDune: Awakening Review - To Tame A Land
There is no greater feeling--of awe, despair, exhilaration--in Dune: Awakening than being eaten by Shai'Hulud. In the 60-plus hours I've spent with developer Funcom's open-world survival MMORPG, I've been swallowed by the sandworms of Arrakis exactly twice. Both encounters were moments I'll never forget.
Dune: Awakening is filled with these kinds of moments, ones where the desert world of Arrakis becomes the star and the player merely a small actor. Whether it's crossing the open desert sands and narrowly escaping Shai'Hulud's maw or piloting an Ornithopter for the first time, Funcom's latest makes author Frank Herbert's iconic book feel real in a way not even Denis Villeneuve's critically acclaimed Dune films managed to accomplish. Dune: Awakening is nothing if not ambitious in that regard, adapting an infamously difficult-to-adapt masterwork of science-fiction with confidence. Though it eventually does become repetitive, its endgame lacks direction, and its strict adherence to the source material is sometimes an Achilles' heel, Dune: Awakening nonetheless manages to carefully mix and match genres to create a Spice Melange cocktail that is hard to put down--at least for the first few dozen hours.
From Dune: Awakening's very first moments, Funcom's reverence for Herbert's universe is clear. While clearly inspired by the look of Villeneuve's films (certain designs, like the Ornithopters, Imperial Testing Stations, and the look of the Harkonnens are ripped straight from the movies), Funcom also puts its own spin on the Dune universe, effectively blending the two looks together to create something that feels both familiar and different, but unquestionably Dune.

Video games and mechs are a match made in heaven, so it's surprising there aren't more games about piloting the hulking war machines. 2023's Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon was the last mech game of note, delighting both fans and newcomers alike with its breakneck action and fully fledged customization. Yet those of us looking for more mecha-based thrills have been left wanting in the years since.
You can only go so long without soaring through the air in a sleekly designed mech, dodging missiles and small-arms fire like you're starring in Macross or Mobile Suit Gundam before you begin to crave more. Up steps Mecha Break: a new free-to-play, third-person multiplayer game that evokes the exciting, full-tilt action of classic mecha anime. With three distinct game modes on offer and dozens of varied machines to pilot, Mecha Break offers quick thrills, but a lack of customization and a free-to-play model built on aggressive monetization and not-so-micro transactions hold it back from achieving pure mecha greatness.
Things kick off with a brief introductory mission that does a poor job of teaching you the objectives of an actual match. With its boss fights and set-piece moments, it feels more like a mission from a nonexistent single-player game than a primer for what Mecha Break has to offer. There's some semblance of worldbuilding revolving around a mysterious mineral called Corite, which drove humanity's rapid technological growth but is now killing the Earth.

Diablo 4 Season 9 launched July 1, and it hasn't taken long for players to discover an infinite-damage bug for the Sorcerer class that is trivializing the ARPG's hardest content. Even worse, it's not hard to replicate.
As broken down by Diablo content creator Mekuna (via PC Gamer), the bug revolves around the Sorcerer's Enlightenment Key Passive, which can be activated by casting skills of a different element to generate Enlightenment stacks. At 100 stacks, the Sorcerer becomes Enlightened and benefits from increased damage, mana regeneration, and attack speed for a limited time.
That's simple enough, but the passive is currently interacting with a new seasonal power, Smoldering Embers, that for some reason causes the damage bonus from Enlightenment to go through the roof when entering portals to a new area. By proccing Enlightenment right before going to a portal, the Sorcerer's elemental damage multipliers start to go up exponentially, with Mekuna's video showing how at one point, after going through several portals using the bug, his Sorcerer had plus 581,000,000,000% more Lightning damage.

The beautiful Deluxe Special Editions of The Hobbit and The Silmarillion--with illustrations by J.R.R. Tolkien--are on sale for incredible discounts for Amazon Prime Day 2025. Normally $195 each, Lord of the Rings fans can get The Hobbit: Tolkien Illustrated Special Edition for $77.57 and The Silmarillion for $55.34. These deals are only for Amazon Prime members and are available in limited quantities.
