Ads for four unconfirmed Activision mobile games--Guitar Hero Mobile, Call Of Duty: Sniper, and Call Of Duty: Zombies Defender, and Crash Bandicoot Brawl--all allegedly feature what players believe to be AI-generated art.
The news comes just a few days after Activision admitted to using AI-generated assets in Black Ops 6. Additionally, it appears that some of these mobile games may not even exist, as only Guitar Hero Mobile has been officially acknowledged on Activision's social media.

The ads for these rumored games are reportedly appearing on Facebook and Instagram, and contain a link to a survey where players can share their opinions on the games, which have not yet been released.

Monster Hunters Wilds doesn't skimp on cutscenes dedicated to food, but just because you're in one doesn't mean you're safe from a hungry monster crashing your BBQ.
If there is one thing Monster Hunter Wilds loves more than monsters (and hunting them), it's eating. The latest entry in Capcom's long-running franchise relishes the chance to depict meals in all their mouth-watering glory, with lavish cutscenes that show players grilling succulent meats, pulling apart fluffy flatbreads, or combining ingredients in a pot to form delicious dishes.
Note to self, the cooking cutscene in Wilds does not protect you from aggroing monsters.

Normally, cooking in town means you are in a safe area, as your character takes their time in a cutscene to pan-fry some meat or veggies for an all-important food buff that can boost stamina, health, attack, and defense. That safety, however, does not extend to using the game's portable BBQ grill item, which allows players to set up a meat-roasting spit and have a meal just about anywhere out in the game's world.

Activision has confirmed Call of Duty Season 3 arrives to Black Ops 6 and Warzone in April, which appears to be a delay of the upcoming content. Additionally, the publisher vaguely teases that the season is a "big moment" for Warzone and Black Ops 6.
Currently, Call of Duty Season 2's in-game battle pass timer says that the season ends in 16 days, which usually indicates the start of a brand-new season immediately afterward. That would have meant Season 3 starts on March 20, but now Activision has announced April 3 as the official start date for the new season.
Season 03 is a big moment for Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6, and we’re taking the time to deliver a great experience starting on April 3.

Despite Activision's efforts to curb cheating among some Call of Duty players, it remains an issue even in Black Ops. 6. But now, there's potentially cause for celebration among CoD fans as Phantom Overlay, one of the most prominent cheat developers, has announced that it is shutting down.
Via Game Rant, Phantom Overlay's Telegram channel states that it plans to "immediately" close its operations, with a caveat that it will remain online for at least another month to fulfill the 30-day keys that it has already sold players. Phantom Overlay went on to promise that anyone who bought lifetime keys would get a partial refund.
"This is not an exit scam and no external entity could ever compel me to exit scam my customers," wrote the creator of Phantom Overlay. "I'll keep everything updated, safe, and online for 32 days longer."

Monster Hunter Wilds is getting an update on March 4, one that will bring a number of bug fixes to address issues players have encountered continuing the game's story and unlocking key features.
Currently, some players are encountering a bug that prevents them from continuing to make story progress during Chapter 5-2 "A World Turned Upside Down," due to a required NPC not appearing. Some players have also run into an issue that is causing the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features to not unlock as intended. Both features are usually unlocked as part of the main quest.
Heads up, hunters: an update is planned to go live on all platforms at 12am PST / 8am GMT on March 4th with fixes for issues with the Ingredient Center, Grill a Meal and story progression in Chapter 5-2 "A World Turned Upside Down".
Once the update is out, any online sessions…
Players online when the update arrives at 12 AM PT / 3AM ET on March 4 will be removed from their online session and required to download the update to continue playing online, according to the official Monster Hunter Status X account, which posts updates about known issues and upcoming fixes.

Monster Hunter Wilds Hits Top 5 All Time On Steam For Concurrent Players
It was a record-breaking weekend on Steam, propelled in part by Monster Hunter Wilds becoming the platform's No. 5 title of all time for concurrent players. The action-adventure game had over 1.3 million people looking to take down fantastical beats on Saturday--and that number doesn't even include PS5 and Xbox Series X|S users.
Steam itself saw over 40 million users for the first time ever on Sunday. The new peak players online total for Steam now sits exactly at 40,263,524. Speaking of specific numbers, Monster Hunter Wilds hit 1,384,608 concurrent players on Valve's platform on Saturday, per SteamDB. The Capcom title is only behind PUBG, Black Myth: Wukong, Palworld, and Counter-Strike 2 on Steam's all-time chart for peak concurrent players.
It was just in August when Black Myth: Wukong became No. 2 all time for Steam concurrent players with over 2.2 million people. A little over a year ago, Palworld passed 2 million concurrent players on Steam, at the time becoming only the second game to ever do so on Valve's platform. PUBG still holds the record with 3.2 million.

Continue Reading at GameSpotTwisted Metal's Canceled Live-Service Game Would Have Featured A Big Change For The Series
The original Twisted Metal helped set the tone for PS1 when it was released in 1995, but it's been absent from Sony's consoles since the Twisted Metal reboot in 2012. However, there was an unannounced Twisted Metal live-service game, which could have revived the series had it not been canceled. Now, one of the developers from that lost Twisted Metal game has shared some details about what could have been.
UI Programmer Hugo Silva posted a handful of screenshots from the Twisted Metal live-service game on his site. Unfortunately, the images are blurred with a note stating that they are under a non-disclosure agreement. Unsurprisingly, vehicular combat played a huge role in the game. But the screenshots also include images of third-person shooter gameplay. So clearly the action was meant to spill out of the vehicles as well, which would have been a departure for the franchise.
The Twisted Metal live-service game was in development at Firesprite, one of the many developers under Sony's PlayStation Studios banner. It appears that Twisted Metal was still very early in development before its cancelation, but the decision to walk away from it came before last year's disastrous Concord launch that forced Sony to rethink its commitment to live-service games.
Continue Reading at GameSpotMy Love For Incredibly Sad Games Has Me Very Excited For Herdling
I don't know why, but I tend to gravitate toward sad stories in virtually all forms of media. My favorite shows are The Leftovers and Six Feet Under. My favorite book is Station Eleven. Some of my favorite songs are especially dour, like Circa Survive's Spirit of the Stairwell. My favorite games often exhibit this preference, too, with games like Rime, Spiritfarer, and Before Your Eyes representing some of my all-time favorites. It's been this way for me for as long as I can remember. I can't explain it, but I can certainly recognize it. For this reason, I'm very excited for Herdling.
The Swiss studio at Okomotive previously made indie darlings Far: Lone Sails and its sequel, Far: Changing Tides tell a connected story about characters navigating a mysterious world on a makeshift boat. This next game from the team shares some traits; Herdling seems like it'll also be presented without any spoken words, and some of the autumnal, earthy colors of Far carry over to Herdling, too. It also drops you into a world with little context, asking you to piece it together as the story unfolds. But the Far games, as best I understood them anyway, were merely dreary. Herdling seems like it will be heartbreaking, and I'm ready to hurt.
Herdling's central mechanic sees you guiding a group of mammoth-like animals to what is presumably their natural habitat. How they've become displaced and separated in lands that sometimes resemble something more like cities than the wilderness they seem to seek is a big burning question early on, but like thatgamecompany's Journey, it seems this answer will be slowly revealed over the course of the game, and probably not fully understood until its final moments.
