How Long Is Doom: The Dark Ages - Full Missions List

Game News - Tue, 05/13/2025 - 10:00

Doom: The Dark Ages is here, bringing a brand-new campaign full of demons for you to rip and tear through. The third game in the modern Doom trilogy, Doom: The Dark Ages is a prequel, taking place in a more medieval time period, meaning your guns and weapons have a certain retro quality to them, like the new melee weapons and the new shield. Of course, there are still lots of guns and plenty of fast-paced shooting. Doom: The Dark Ages features a single-player campaign, and here's how long beating that will take you.

Check out our Doom: The Dark Ages Collectibles Guides Hub for guides for every level.

How long to beat Doom: The Dark Ages

Doom: The Dark Ages will take you between 17-20 hours to beat. That estimate is for someone who is finding secret areas and collectibles during their run on normal difficulty, but not grabbing every single secret the first time through. GameSpot's critic Alessandro Barbosa took 18 hours to beat the game for GameSpot's Doom: The Dark Ages review, doing some of the side content during that run.

Switch Rail Shooter Mad Bullets Getting A New Bundle With Two Joy-Con Revolvers

Game News - Tue, 05/13/2025 - 09:16

The arcade shooter Mad Bullets is getting a new physical release on Nintendo Switch that bundles the game with two Joy-Con Revolvers. The peripherals will let you play the co-op shooting gallery with arcade-style light guns--arguably the best way to play a game like Mad Bullets. Preorders for the Mad Bullets Kit are now open ahead of its July 11 release, and if you’re looking for a weird and wild party game this summer, Mad Bullets should fit the bill.

Mad Bullets Kit $30 | Releases July 11

The Mad Bullets Kit is reasonably priced at $30. It includes a digital download code for the full game, plus two hilarious revolver controllers--one blue, one pink. If you’re unfamiliar with Mad Bullets, it’s a western-themed rail shooter that originally launched as a mobile game in 2014, was ported to PC in 2016, and then again to Switch in 2019. You’ll work your way across 60 levels and 200 missions, blasting through hordes of robot cowboys, evil vultures, and other off-the-wall enemies.

If you're looking for more party games to play on Switch, you're in luck. There are many great options to pick from, including the hilarious Jack Box Party Pack 7 that includes several excellent multiplayer mini-games you can play with just one Switch and a few smartphones. You could also check out Hasbro Game Night, which includes digital versions of popular Hasbo-published board games Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, and Risk. For something more competitive, there's always Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which remains an excellent choice years after its release, thanks to a massive cast of characters and an approachable combat system that’s difficult to master. New Forza Horizon 5 Livery Celebrates Both PS5 and Xbox Players

Game News - Tue, 05/13/2025 - 08:39

Forza Horizon 5 launched on PS5 a few weeks ago, bringing cross-platform play to the first-party Xbox game. To mark the occasion, Forza is getting an Xbox-PlayStation hybrid livery for the Lamborghini Revuelto, an unlockable car in the game's new Realms update.

Boasting the trademark bright blue of PlayStation and neon green of Xbox, the livery is meant to celebrate "more players driving together," now that the game is no longer an Xbox console exclusive. As stated in a press release, "Lamborghini and Forza have joined forces to create a powerful symbol of unity: a first-of-its-kind livery, designed for a vibrant driving community, that is only getting bigger."

The livery is only usable on the new Revuelto, which can be earned in Horizon Realms by winning the Horizon Stadium circuit race. The livery, meanwhile, is unlocked via share code 687 884 132. This can be entered by selecting "Find New Designs" in the Designs and Paint tab in the Garage customization menu.

Stephen King Fans Can Preorder Amazon's Exclusive 4K Steelbook Edition Of The Dead Zone

Game News - Tue, 05/13/2025 - 05:44
Preorder at Amazon

The film adaptation of Stephen King's classic sci-fi novel The Dead Zone is getting a display-worthy new 4K edition next month. The Dead Zone's Limited Edition Steelbook is exclusive to Amazon and available to preorder for $45 ahead of its June 10 release. The steelbook case features artwork inspired by the the 1983 film's eerie promotional poster.

Collectors of King movies should keep in mind that The Dead Zone's Amazon exclusivity means it may not be available for very long after its launch. If you preorder now, you'll be eligible for any price cuts Amazon offers until your copy ships. And if The Dead Zone has you thinking about expanding your King collection, you'll find a list of 4K Blu-ray editions of other adaptations of King's novels and stories at the bottom of this story.

The Dead Zone: Limited Edition Steelbook (4K Blu-ray) $45 | Releases June 10 exclusively at Amazon

Amazon's exclusive Steelbook Edition of The Dead Zone was remastered from the original 1983 film negatives. The 4K remaster first released in 2023, so if you already have that one, the only difference here is the eye-catching steelbook case.

Like The Shining and numerous other Stephen King adaptations from its era, The Dead Zone's 4K remaster offers a noticeably improved visual and audio experience with Dolby Vision HDR10 and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. If you want to watch this King classic in 2025--more than 40 years after its theatrical release--the Steelbook Edition or 2023 Collector's Edition would be your best bets. The 4K release also comes with a standard Blu-ray disc, and both discs are loaded with special features, which we've outlined below.

On the 4K disc you'll find several audio commentary tracks--sadly, Cronenberg himself hasn't recorded a track--with one of them containing insight from the movie's director of photography Mark Irwin. Mike Flanagan, whose adaptation of the King novella The Life of Chuck hits theaters next month, joins Eric Vespe and Scott Wampler of the Kingcast for one of the other tracks, and you can also watch the movie with commentary from several film and film music historians.

How To Sign Up For FBC: Firebreak's Closed Technical Test

Game News - Tue, 05/13/2025 - 04:22

Remedy has announced the next closed alpha test for FBC: Firebreak, and it's coming up very soon. The test begins May 15, and while it's a closed test, you can sign up for a chance to get in.

To sign up, head to the FBC alpha website. Remedy said this is a "limited" test, so anyone who signs up has to cross their fingers and hope for the best to get accepted. The alpha test is being held on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and cross-play is supported.

Because this is a closed test, participants cannot share anything about it. "That means no talking about the game on the Steam forums, posting images online, or streaming the game to a public audience," Remedy said.

Publisher Promises Its Switch 2 Game Carts Will Have Full Games On Them

Game News - Tue, 05/13/2025 - 03:51

The future is looking increasingly digital for the Switch 2, as while the Nintendo hybrid console will still accept physical cartridges, many of these will serve as authentication keys to enable games to be downloaded onto the system. One company is pledging to ensure that the Switch 2 cartridge you buy from them isn't a Game-Key Card, as it wants to stick closely to its mission statement to always offer physical games to buyers.

At PAX East 2025, Limited Run Games explained its stance on Switch 2 game cartridges to Boss Rush. The company--which specializes in releasing retro and modern digital games on physical media for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch consoles--explained that nearly all of its games will be "true" physical releases and will contain the full game on the cartridge. The exception to this rule will be games released as a partnership and that don't fall under its numbered releases umbrella, as Limited Run will leave this decision up to the developer or publisher.

Game-Key Cards are notably cheaper to produce as well, and Nintendo has confirmed that these won't be locked to your Switch 2 or tied to your account if you buy one and choose to resell it down the line. The reveal of Game-Key cards has been met with some criticism, as it looks like players will be forced to upgrade the internal storage capacity of their Switch 2--the console offers 256GB of storage, but a portion of that will be reserved for system files--with a pricy MicroSD Express card.
