Silent Hill F Modders Have Already Removed The Game's Signature Fog
Silent Hill f won't officially launch until tomorrow, September 25, but PC users with early access have already released a handful of mods for the game. One of the mods even removes the franchise's signature fog from the Japanese town of Ebisugaoka. And suddenly it's a much nicer day for high school student Hinako Shimizu, at least until something tries to kill her.

— Besk (@BeskInfinity) September 23, 2025As demonstrated in the post above, the game isn't quite as intimidating if you can see everything clearly. Last year's Silent Hill 2 remake also had a mod that got rid of the fog. Some of the other notable mods for Silent Hill f include hardware-based ray tracing, the removal of the HUD, and some optimization tweaks for the game's engine.
Silent Hill f is a departure for the series and the first game in the franchise to be set in Japan. The story takes place in the '60s and follows Hinako as she tries to understand why her town has seemingly been swallowed in endless fog and populated by horrific creatures. GameSpot's review for Silent Hill f gave it a 9 out of 10.

See at AmazonWhether you’re new to the hobby or have been growing your collection for years, trading card storage boxes are always a necessity. Along with giving you an easy way to store and organize your cards, most come with durable, protective shells that ensure your decks stay in mint condition over the years. Now’s a great time to pick up another one, as Amazon is discounting several TCG storage boxes to their lowest prices of the year. These three are all labeled for Magic: The Gathering, but they’ll work just as well for other games like the Pokemon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon, and more. Keep in mind that the number of cards you can fit in these storage boxes will vary based on whether they’re sleeved or not, but in general, you can expect to house hundreds of cards--even a few thousand--in a single case.
Gomyrod Card Storage Box (Holds 3,200+ cards) $27.79 (was $40)If you already have a sizable collection--or plan to expand it and need lots of extra space--this Card Storage Box from Gomyrod the best option of the three. Not only is it listed for its lowest price ever at $27.79 (was $40), but it can hold up to 3,200 cards. The interior of the case features four rows with 30 removable multi-colored dividers and card supporters that help keep your cards upright even if you don’t have enough to fill an entire section. The case also features windows for peeking at your cards, a hand strap for carrying it like a briefcase, and a magnetic clasp.
See at Amazon Kabinka Commander Deck Box (Holds 400+ cards) $40 (was $50)Kabinka's Commander Deck Box is the smallest of the boxes, with enough space to hold around 400 cards (the equivalent of four 100-card Commander format Magic: The Gathering decks) and a handful of small accessories, but it’s arguably the most premium option. It includes four magnetic card holders, a dice box with a removable lid, and strong magnet closures that keep everything contained when not in use. It’s built with waterproof PU leather and a soft microfiber lining for added protection. You can grab it for $40 (was $50) at Amazon.
See at Amazon Card Storage Box (Holds 1,800+ cards) $24 (was $27)Slotting between the 400- and 3,200-card cases above is this reasonably sized (and priced) 1,800-card box from UAONO. It’s broken up into three rows, comes with 10 card dividers, 3 card supporters, and is outfitted with magnetic closures to secure your collection when not in use. The interior is lined with soft microfiber fabric, while the exterior is made of durable leather material. This box is on sale for $24 at Amazon (was $26).
See at AmazonIf you want a few other accessories to pair with your storage box, check out the slim 9-Pocket Card Binder that holds up to 720 cards. This is much easier to travel with, though some may find it to lack the durability of the three boxes above. It’s on sale for $10 (was $14). And while you don’t really need it for TCGs, anyone playing traditional card games should take a look at this Automatic Card Shuffler while it’s on sale for $18 (was $25).

Since Nintendo launched Switch 2 in June, Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza have emerged as the system's early flagship titles. Both games were also given updates this week, although Mario Kart World fans will notice more differences and improvements to the game.
Mario Kart World patch Ver. 1.3.0 makes a number of welcome changes to Free Roam, including the ability to play that mode with a second player if the game is full while trying to join a race against friends. It's also going to be easier to encounter UFOs and find collectibles in Free Roam, especially now that the game will let you know which items you've already found on the map.
The patch tackled a few annoying bugs like losing your ranking if you went out of bounds by the finish line, or getting stuck in the Bowser's Castle walls when using Bullet Bill. Most of the bug fixes would be best described as quality-of-life changes rather than game-breaking issues.

Treyarch senior director of production Yale Miller has revealed that the company rejected collaborations with unspecified "big brands" for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 skins.
Miller told Dexerto that Treyarch wants to have collab skins in Black Ops 7 that "make sense" for the game. This mandate led the company to apparently say no to possible deals.
"There are opportunities that we have had lined up that, after some of our conversations, we straight up turned down. Big, big brands, big things, and we're like, 'No, we're not gonna do that because it just doesn't fit,'" Miller said.

Earlier this year, One More Level--the developer behind the cyberpunk action title Ghostrunner--debuted their next title, a first-person action-souls-like called Valor Mortis. Gamescom attendees were able to play it in August, but next month, Valor Mortis is getting a playtest that's open to everyone.
The public playtest for Valor Mortis will be held from October 6-13. Fans who want to participate are invited to sign up on the game's official site. The playtest features the first chapter of the game's pre-alpha build, which introduces the world and its story while giving you 10 possible levels of progression as you make their way past a mini boss. If you make it that far, a main boss is waiting to fight you while giving you a chance to demonstrate what you've learned. You can also access the first section of the upgrade tree.
One More Level and Lyrical Games will be sponsoring community contests during the playtest, including speedruns, screenshot contests, and fan art. Players who take part in those challenges will earn a chance to win prize packs when the game launches.

Hades 2 offers a myriad of tools, blessings from Greek gods, and witchcraft-coded spells to overcome its challenges. Yet, the further you plunge into the Underworld and Olympus, the bigger the resistance from enemy forces is. Simply put, the closer you get to the endgame, the harder everything gets.
Considering it's necessary for you to not just do runs but also achieve victory in them to actually see the overarching story through, you'll need all the help you can get. As someone who had to constantly win runs in order to write extensive guides on reaching the end of the game and successfully navigating the epilogue that follows, I'll be detailing what worked for me as the best endgame build for Hades 2.

Even the sole choice of your weapon can radically change how you approach a run. At the same time, this is still a roguelite--aside from some specific picks, there's never a guarantee that you'll always be getting what you want during a run. As such, it's worth being open to improvisation on the go.

Waking up Hypnos is one of Hades 2's recurring goals. From the moment you start your journey in the sequel, the embodiment of sleep is in a deep slumber. This is manifested in the Fated List of Minor Prophecies as Soundest of Sleepers, tasking you to "rouse Hypnos from his slumber" without much indication as to how to accomplish it.
During Early Access, the game had two incantations related to the minor prophecy. Now, after the full release, you can finally access the third and final spell to wake up hypnos. Problem is, you'll need a rare material for it. If you're wondering how to get Soot in Hades 2 to complete the End to the Dumbest Slumber incantation, we've got you covered.

Regardless of where you have purchased Hades 2, you must ensure that cloud saves are enabled.

Just like the first game, Hades 2 launched first in early access, allowing developer Supergiant Games to delicately tweak and balance gameplay, as well as add new content before its full launch. And, like the first game, that time was not wasted.
Hades 2 exits early access as a finely-honed and deeply engaging roguelite that builds upon the strong foundations established by the first game. It's larger in every way, with more characters and conversations to enjoy, an entirely new roster of weapons to learn, and deeper customization options to its expanded combat system, yet none of these upgrades compromise Hades' legacy. Rather, Hades 2 improves upon its predecessor in every way, making it a masterfully crafted sequel that is essential to play.
Instead of playing as Zagreus again, you play as his sister, Melinoe, who was born after the events of the first game. Your journey with the witchling begins shortly after the titan Chronos usurps the throne and takes over Hades's domain, banishing Hades, Persephone, Zagreus, and the other Chthonic gods as he does so. Melinoe, saved from the unknown fate of her family, has been raised to realize one simple goal: Death to Chronos. That goal is realized over many, many treks through Hades and beyond, with each run featuring randomized elements, including the enemies you'll face and the upgrades you'll earn along the way. With the help of her mentor, fellow titan Hecate, and a cast of new and returning gods, shades, and all those in between, Hades 2 sets out strongly from the get-go with a story that is gripping to watch unfold between runs.

In a lengthy social media post, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios acknowledged "issues including performance drops, stability hiccups, freezes, and the annoying audio bugs." The plan is to start addressing those problems next month, though performance-related fixes will require a longer-term solution.
The first update is slated to arrive in "mid-October-ish" for Helldivers 2, according to the game's official X account. That patch will focus on crashing issues, audio interruptions for primary weapon/sidearm, minor performance upgrades, and more. However, for "bigger performance pieces" in the third-person shooter, Arrowhead states that it needs more than two months to "address some of the larger concerns."
Greetings Helldivers,
We know many of you have been experiencing issues including performance drops, stability hiccups, freezes, and the annoying audio bugs.

In addition, Arrowhead added that it's aiming for "more transparency and more talk" about Helldivers 2 moving forward. That will begin next week with a new post about the shooter, according to the developer.

The release date for Nioh 3 may have leaked early, as new online storefront listings for the game suggest that Team Ninja's souls-like Action-RPG will be out on February 6, 2026. Amazon Japan had two listings for a Nioh 3 standard-edition release and a "Treasure Box" collector's edition packed with an art book, mousepad, CD soundtrack, and furry keychain.
Both of these listings (via Gematsu) have since been removed, but they did briefly show cover art and collector's edition contents. Publisher Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja haven't posted any announcements regarding the official release date since the game was first announced, but it's worth noting that there is a PlayStation State of Play today--and Nioh 3 is coming to PS5 and PC--that showcase would be a likely venue for the announcement.
Nioh 3 sees players step into the boots of a fictionalized version of Japan's first shogun, Tokugawa Takechiyo. With supernatural threats on the rise, it's up to Tokugawa to battle these malevolent forces by using both samurai and ninja fighting styles. Team Ninja says that its Ninja Gaiden games inspired a shift in the gameplay, and that players can freely shift between these stances.
Continue Reading at GameSpotPokemon Legends: Z-A Is Reinventing Pokemon Battles And I Couldn't Be More Thrilled
I love Pokemon's turn-based battle mechanics. For nearly 30 years, Game Freak has tuned its rock-paper-scissors style combat to near perfection. Different generations have added new mechanics and gimmicks to keep things fresh, but Pokemon's battles have always been built around turn-based combat. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A, however, Game Freak aims to redefine what a Pokemon battle is, a fact which, naturally, gave me some pause. Yet after over an hour with the game, I'm convinced they might have pulled it off.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A opens with your character arriving in Lumiose City by train. Unlike Arceus, there is no time travel; Z-A takes place in the present after the events of Pokemon X and Y. Outside of the train station you meet a trainer, either Taunie or Urbain depending on who you pick, who will give you a starter Pokemon: Chikorita, Totodile, or Tepig. Before I was able to pick the Totodile, the clear winner of the three, we were thrown into a Wild Zone a few hours later in the game.
Wild Zones are scattered throughout Lumiose City and are home to wild Pokemon waiting to be caught. The zone I explored was crawling with Houndours and Bunearys. The Wild Zone covered a few blocks of Lumiose City, and was much smaller than the expansive areas we saw in Arceus. Based on a few quick glances at the map, this zone seems like one of the smaller ones, but even the larger Wild Zones appeared to be much smaller than any of the regions from Arceus. However, these Wild Zones appear to use Lumiose City's density and verticality to their advantage. I found some back alleys and rooftops that hid items and special encounters, including a level 40 Alpha Pikachu that sent me flying off a multi-story building and electrocuted its way through most of my party. Fortunately, there are cafes dotted throughout Wild Zones that can heal your Pokemon for a small fee. If you or all your Pokemon get knocked out, you're sent back to a Pokemon Center outside of the Wild Zone.

Hollow Knight is a venture into Hallownest's depths, a methodical descent ever deeper into the quiet stillness of a long-dead kingdom in a desperate attempt to understand why this civilization fell, what possesses only some of its bug citizens to revert into unthinking and violent insects and not others, and what it is we're even doing there. There are no concrete answers to be found or a set path to follow; there's barely a discernible objective for almost the entire game. It is a story built around curiosity, only rewarding snippets of Hallownest's fascinating history to those who venture for no other reason than wanting to do so. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and its sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, is even better.
In some ways, you can tell that Silksong started out as an expansion to the first game. It plays largely the same, and long-time fans will fall into the familiar rhythm of pogoing off enemy heads and deadly saw blades with downward slashes, frantically healing during brief breaks in an intense boss fight, parrying an attack with a well-timed slash, and breathing a sigh of relief upon reaching the next bench and setting a new spawn point.
Hornet's journey starts at the bottom of Pharloom. It's not all exactly the same: Hornet's downward slash is initially her trademark diagonal dive (but you can change it later!), for example. But Silksong feels like more Hollow Knight. The rhythmic acrobatic nature of combat, rewarding feeling of success from defeating a tough-as-nails boss, and sense of wonder at discovering that there is, in fact, another area to explore are all here. Team Cherry created a superb gameplay loop in the first game, and that fantastic formula continues to shine in Silksong years later.

I'm old enough to remember how it felt to first play Final Fantasy Tactics in 1997--to remember its stirring score, deep tactical combat, and most of all, the complex story of broken relationships and valor set against a bitter, conspiracy-laden battle for royal succession. It all came together to create an unforgettable experience. More than nearly any game of its time, I was so rapt in it that I would find my mind frequently wandering back to it, planning new strategies, wondering what would happen next.
Tactics is a game that has lived on as a cult classic with sporadic attempts at giving it its due, as with 2007's War of the Lions. The Ivalice Chronicles is the latest and best version so far, modernizing just enough to keep its spirit intact and enhance its memorable story without sacrificing its classic charms.
The story primarily follows the life of Ramza Beoulve, the youngest and most obscure member of a storied house of nobles, and his fractious friendship with Delita Heiral, a commoner who was treated like family by the Beoulve clan. As narration informs us before the game begins, history remembers Delita as the conquering hero of the War of the Lions--but it was the relatively unknown Ramza who should actually be celebrated.

It is no secret that Battlefield 2042 had a rough launch, and against that backdrop, DICE boss Rebecka Coutaz said one of her main goals when she joined the company in 2021 was to help make the next Battlefield game, Battlefield 6, "one of the best Battlefields the world has ever seen."
She told GamesRadar that she felt an "obligation" to make a better game. "I owe that to the community and to the teams. That is my drive. That's why I'm here," she said.
Battlefield 2042 stumbled at launch with an array of technical issues, and players also did not generally embrace some of the changes, including 124-player matches and the introduction of Specialist characters. EA steadily supported, updated, and improved Battlefield 2042, and it's now in a "completely different state than when we released it," Coutaz said. "We still have a lot of players playing."

The directorial feature debut of Burton, Pee-wee's Big Adventure is downright weird. The core plot revolves around Pee-wee setting off on a road trip to recover his beloved stolen bicycle, but things get stranger from there thanks to terrifying clowns, the horror of Large Marge, and a run-in with the rowdy biker gang called Satan's Helpers. Tequila! Nothing like Pee-wee's Big Adventure had ever been seen on the big screen before, and it has remained a wonderfully weird film that has never been imitated since it was first released in theaters in 1985.
