Monster Hunter Wilds Steelbook Edition for PS5
Get deal at Best Buy See at Amazon ($75)The latest installment in the beloved Monster Hunter franchise released in February to impressive reviews (on console), with critics praising its improved combat system, the sprawling locales, and the lineup of formidable monsters old and new. If you're interested in joining the hunt, now's the best time to grab a copy. Monster Hunter Wilds is currently discounted to its lowest price yet at $56 (was $70). There’s also a nice deal on the Monster Hunter Wilds Steelbook Edition for PS5, giving you a cool way to display it in your game room.
Monster Hunter Wilds $56 (was $70)This deal is available at several retailers, including Amazon, Target, and Woot.
If you’re playing on PC, it’s discounted at Fanatical. The PC version has been on the receiving end of a review bombing, however, as players express their frustrations with its poor optimization. It currently has a "Mixed" user review average on Steam, but recent reviews are "Overwhelmingly Negative."
Wilds plays and looks great on PS5 and Xbox Series X, so if you have the choice between console and PC, it'd be wise to pick console.
See at Amazon See at Target See at Woot Monster Hunter Wilds Steelbook Edition for PS5 $60 (was $75)Along with the base game, this version gets you a premium steelbook featuring Arkveld. Considering it's only an extra $4, it's a pretty cool way to pick up a unique physical collectible. Unfortunately, this price cut only applies to the PS5 version, with the Xbox Series X edition still listed at $75.
Amazon isn't currently offering a price cut, but it may lower its price to match Best Buy, so give it a look if you need a backup.
The Steelbook Edition was sold out for a bit after launch, so this deal might not stick around for long.
Get deal at Best Buy See at Amazon ($75)Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t available on Switch, but that doesn’t mean Nintendo fans can’t jump into some discounted Monster Hunter fun. Monster Hunter Stories Collection is now on sale for just $32.48 (was $60), bundling together both Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2. It’s not your traditional hunting experience--it’s more akin to Pokemon than it is traditional Monster Hunter games--but the series earned positive reviews thanks to its strategic turn-based combat and charming cast of characters. There are over 100 Monsties--the name for monsters in these games--to join forces with in each game, and the majority of them are rideable.

Sega fans are in for a long wait, as two of the biggest--and recently announced--games from the publisher won't be out for a long time. Persona 4 Revival from Atlus and RGG's Stranger Than Heaven received brand-new trailers earlier this month, but those two games are still quite far away from release. Both games are planned to launch either during or after Sega's 2027 fiscal year, which begins on April 1, 2026.
The news was confirmed by Sega as part of a management presentation from earlier this month, where the company outlined plans for its business. However, it appears Sega may not have meant to release the report--at least in this form, which contained unredacted sales figures--and has since pulled it from its website, although it is still archived online.
The two games won't be released until at least April 2026Stranger Than Heaven was first revealed at The Game Awards 2024 under the working title of Project Century, but a new trailer at Summer Game Fest 2025 revealed the proper title for the game, gameplay, and offered a glimpse into its world. Not long after, Sega officially confirmed that a remake of Persona 4 was on the way at the Xbox Games Showcase, but beyond that, details on the game remain slim for now.

Landfall's co-op climbing game, Peak, achieved significant sales numbers in the past week, selling over one million copies on Steam in six days. Peak became a surprise hit for the Haste and Stick Fight publisher with the game peaking at 102,000 concurrent players on Sunday. Those kinds of numbers topped even recent hits Rematch and Dune: Awakening.
Peak's gameplay seems simple, but this is hardly Ice Climbers. Players can either do solo or co-op runs as they try to escape a mysterious island by climbing the center of the tallest mountain--which changes each time you play.
Can you make it to the peak?GalleryAs you play, you can help each other up ledges, or place ropes and climbing spikes to make the way easier for those who come after. There are four biomes on your way to the mountain's peak, each with their own life-threatening obstacles. Climbing isn't your only objective, though: You'll need to scavenge for questionable food to survive, and manage your injuries very carefully. Every setback limits your stamina, making it harder to climb.

Shadow Labyrinth is an enigma.
It should be simple enough to describe: It's a "2D action exploration & combat platformer," or "2DAECP"--which is Bandai's Namco official description and its way of saying "metroidvania" without mentioning a word made by combining two rival games' names--in which a mysterious amnesiac follows a small yellow robot through a labyrinth of tough battles and tight platforming. Like other games in the genre, the path here is well-trodden; there's side-scrolling exploration across a big map that opens as you unlock new abilities, and lots of enemies to fight along the way.
What you won't expect, however, is the story Bandai Namco is telling around the Metroi--sorry, 2DAECP--it has devised. It's known that this game directly ties into the Pac-Man-themed episode of Amazon Prime's animated Secret Level series, but it's the rest of the lore that turned my head during a recent virtual preview session. The 2DAECP space is crowded right now, but Bandai Namco may have found a way to rise above the rest with Shadow Labyrinth; you'll just have to brush up on your gaming history.

Actor Ned Luke, who played Michael in GTA 5 and wants to come back in a new DLC for GTA Online, has revealed the one mission in the game that was "hands down" the worst to perform.
Responding to someone online who posted a clip of the yoga mission from GTA 5's campaign, Luke said he agreed with the commenter and that it was "hands down the worst to shoot." Luke added that he "sweated my ass off for eight hours" during the filming process.
The "Did Somebody Say Yoga?" mission in GTA 5 has Michael joining his wife Amanda and yoga instructor Fabien for a yoga session at their home. The player must match button presses in time and order to complete the objective; failing triggers a fail screen telling you that "Michael failed to achieve enlightenment."

Cyberpunk 2077's next big update, 2.3, is not going to launch on time. Developer CD Projekt Red has announced that the studio needs "some more time to make sure we're happy with it." It was previously set to launch on June 26 but has been delayed indefinitely.
The developer also teased that update 2.3 is aiming to have a scope around the same as the 2.2 update. That's saying something, as the 2.2 update--released in December 2024--was a huge one. "We appreciate your patience!" the developer said.
Hey chooms,
We initially hoped to put Update 2.3 in your hands on June 26. However, we'll need some more time to make sure we're happy with it — we're aiming for a scope similar to Update 2.2. We'll update you further as soon as we can!
We appreciate your patience! pic.twitter.com/Hx5fEF8wj7
Most people thought CD Projekt Red was finished supporting Cyberpunk 2077 and shifting its teams to Cyberpunk 2 and The Witcher 4, but in early June, the Polish studio confirmed the 2.3 update. As of yet, however, there is no word on what's included in the 2.3 update.

One of the big draws for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was its cast of voice actors, as the turn-based RPG featured the talents of Charlie Cox, Ben Starr, Jennifer English, and Andy Serkis. For Cox, the critical success of the game has not gone unnoticed by him, as he remarked that he'd only heard good things about it. Jokingly, the Daredevil actor said that he felt like a "total fraud" for having only been in a studio for several hours to record his lines as Gustave, who quickly became a fan-favorite character with players.
"I don't mean to minimize it in any way, and apparently, the game is awesome. I'm not a gamer, I haven't played it," Cox said at Washington State Summer Con (via Culture Crave). "My agent asked me if I wanted to go and do a voiceover--I was in the studio for 4 hours. People keep saying 'congratulations' and I feel like a total fraud. But I'm so thrilled for the company, I'm so thrilled it did really well."
While Cox's work for Expedition 33 was done in a day, his character still had a massive impact on the game, especially in its early hours and at the end of its first act. The performances of Cox and the rest of the cast have been widely hailed for their nuanced and emotional performances, which helped make Expedition 33 the best-reviewed game for several months.

After its predecessor served as a beacon of novelty amidst a sea of stagnation, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach had a big challenge to overcome. Death Stranding's absurd nature, encompassing everything from urine grenades to gently rocking your controller to calm a distressed baby, was coupled with a rich new setting to unravel. Step by step, Sam Porter Bridges connected a post-apocalyptic America to a network by making dozens of deliveries from one point to another. Its slow and methodical pace made it somewhat of an outlier in the AAA space. The sequel follows suit in most ways that made its predecessor stand out. The core foundation remains unchanged--planning and executing each delivery requires strategy and improvisation, and they're still satisfying to pull off. But this second iteration doesn't feel as arresting as it mired in familiar story beats, a disappointing lack of friction, and an obsession with doubling down on the weaker aspects of Death Stranding.
GalleryThe story begins with Sam living a reclusive life near the Mexico border with Lou, the now-grown baby from the first game. A familiar face inevitably finds Sam and, once again, asks for help connecting an array of facilities to the network. This time, your destinations are fictional depictions of Mexico and Australia, and the journey involves collaborating with a growing crew of characters that cruise around with you in the DHV Magellan, a Metal Gear-shaped ship serving as the base of operations.
Throughout the 33 hours it took me to reach the end credits, which included a few side activities along the way, the story focused on the effects of connecting the United States to the Chiral Network, while uncovering the whereabouts of returning characters. Sam's new tale is told sporadically, which feels like watching a very slow season of a TV show. Completing main missions grants enough parcels of story here and there to keep you engaged, but I spent a lot of time longing for a cutscene or conversation that might shed a little clarity or answers to mysteries introduced early on, as cutscenes sometimes fail to deliver relevant information or any character development. That being said, while some of the eventual revelations weren't as impactful as I had hoped, my interest in seeing the story through didn't wane.

The Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz and his fellow CDPR veterans at Rebel Wolves have shared an extended gameplay demo from the studio's first game, The Blood of Dawnwalker. As revealed earlier this year, Dawnwalker's protagonist is Coen, a young man in a medieval European country that has been taken over by vampires. But as seen in the video below, Coen has different ways of opposing the new regime, both as a vampire and as a human.
According to design director Daniel Sadowski, the side mission showcased in this demo takes place near the middle of the game. Coen only has 30 days and 30 nights to save his family, and Sadowski notes that he could storm the vampire's castle and rescue them at any time. But without allies or enough power to stand against the game's most powerful vampires, that attempt probably wouldn't end well for Coen.
Coen isn't helpless during the day, as the demo shows he can draw upon some magic when fighting his foes. But none of his vampire abilities can be used while the sun is up. This allows for some advantages, as he can walk through the front door of the cathedral uncontested and ask questions inside. But waiting until nightfall gives Coen the ability to climb the walls and sneak inside just as an elder vampire, Xanthe, is conducting some kind of ritual.

Last year, CD Projekt Red unveiled The Witcher 4 and confirmed that Ciri is the game's new main character. This shouldn't have been to surprising to fans after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but there has been some pushback from players who don't want Geralt of Rivia to take a backseat to his adoptive daughter. Now, one of the developers behind the upcoming game is asking fans to wait for The Witcher 4 to be released before passing judgment on Ciri's time in the spotlight.
"When the game will be out, you'll be able to see for yourself and fully embrace her character, her story," said The Witcher 4 engineering production manager Jan Hermanowicz during an interview with GamesRadar+. "And I think that will be the moment to make opinions and make the calls."
He went on to add that the first teaser trailer for the game showed Ciri in "two emotional states [that were] very distinct from one another," before adding that the finished game will have a more rounded out depiction of her personality. Hermanowicz also echoed Geralt voice actor Doug Cockle by pointing out that the original Witcher stories set up Ciri to be the lead.
