The UTS Interaction and Game Design (IxG) Student Society recently organized and hosted the first Interactive Media Jam for students and friends. Similar to a traditional Game Jam but with an expanded scope to all interactive technology, this event saw groups of students make novel interactable prototypes over a two day period, based upon a theme provided on the first day.
Do all the other things, the ambitious things—travel, get rich, get famous, innovate, lead, fall in love, make and lose fortunes…but as you do, to the extent that you can, err in the direction of kindness.

Dr. William Raffe from the UTS Games Studio recently spoke in an interview with Junkee about the game design of Untitled Goose Game. This innocently charming game, developed by Melbourne-based indie studio House House, has recently captured the hearts of audiences around the world.
Playing digital games is fun and highly engaging. So how about using it to stimulate behaviour change, such as energy efficiency, bus trips or more ethical consumer choices and practices?
According to academic researcher Elena Bakhanova who is doing a PHD on the intersection between gamification and sustainable development, games use competition, rewards, and points for good actions to stimulate interest.
Another semester, another successful UTS FEIT Prototype Exhibition!
This exhibition saw 30 prototypes made by over 80 students from 9 different IT and engineering subjects be put on display for 4 hours on 2nd July 2019. Hundreds of guests came to UTS Building 11 to view and vote for their favorite projects, including industry and research partners, students from around the university, and families.
