Creativity Unleashed at the UTS Tech Festival 2025 Game Jam

On 23–24 June, the UTS Tech Festival brought the energy with its in-person Game Jam, where students, alumni, and indie devs came together for two full days of non-stop game creation, collaboration, and innovation.

Held in Building 11 at UTS, the jam challenged participants to design and build a game from scratch based on a surprise theme revealed at kickoff. Working solo or in teams, participants raced the clock to create polished, playable games by Day 2.

What Went Down
Teams formed quickly and dove into programming, art, narrative, design, and audio.
A wide range of submissions showcased imaginative mechanics, bold art styles, and creative spins on the theme.
Games were judged live in front of a crowd, with winners selected based on Enjoyment, Creativity, and Presentation.

No Generative AI
All submissions were 100% human-made—no AI-generated content—keeping the focus on creativity, collaboration, and skill.
