Get Off My Lawn

Overview:

Get Off My Lawn is a top down survival shooter which focuses on the quest of an old, irritable man to rid his home of satanic invaders. Wilfred Mcnugget, and old, disgruntled war veteran, returns home one day to find his house inexplicably taken over by a mysterious cult. Unable to reason with the invaders, he instead opts to evict the occupants by hand. As such Wilfred finds himself shooting and punching his way through hordes of deranged cultists on a quest to reclaim his lost home. Descend into the mysterious basement beneath Wilfred’s home. Stumble through the dark, feeling your way through an ancient, anti-diluvian ruin hidden within the ancient stones.

Get Off My Lawn is heavily inspired by top down indie productions such as Darkwood and Hotline Miami and as a result takes core mechanics from both. The game is driven by the hypothesis: Can you create a bullet hell where a player’s vision is reduced? How does a lack of information and vision impact a player’s performance, as well as their ability to dodge? As such, the game looks to merge two genres, horror and bullet hell, and make an exciting yet tense experience for players to navigate and explore.
