Dragon Hunter

Overview:

Our video game is a “jump ‘n’ run” game with a clear focus on creating a challenge for the players. Within the frames of being a “jump ‘n’ run” game, each of the 5 levels in the game offer a unique setting and experience (introduction, falling, ice, climbing, time-limitation). The challenge becomes gradually harder from level to level, as elements from one level are reintroduced in subsequent levels in combination with new elements or changed prerequisites (e.g. from having a sword to fight enemies to having no sword).

Additionally the game tells a short story of a warrior on a dragon hunt. Key feature here is that the story is told backwards (“Level 5” is the first level and “Level 1” the last one). This on the one hand created the opportunity for a plot twist at the end of the game. On the other hand it allows for a good explanation why the game becomes harder (e.g. in “Level 5” the player is a fully equipped warrior while in “Level 1” he does not own a sword yet)
