UTS Student Games at the POWERHOUSE LATE: GAMING

Last September, a group of UTS Game Development students had the opportunity to showcase their semester projects at the 2023 POWERHOSE LATE: GAMING event.

This event is aimed at bringing together the games community as well as celebrating the breadth of Australian game innovation through live performances, local game developer showcases, tabletop arenas and immersive game experiences.

IF THE HUE FITS

Synopsis: Dave Inche was working in the newest emulsion paint company on the market, Painter-Boja, when a terrible disaster happened, a chemical element tumbled out of their hands and dripped a single drop of arsenic into the brewing paint. Dave Inche didn't think anything of it until people began to turn into adorable monsters called 'Huemens'. He must now work on a solution to solve what has started off as a minor incident, using his paintbrush and various paints to cure the town from the virus.

ROUGE RHAPSODY

Synopsis: Step into the enchanting world of Rouge's Rhapsody, a mesmerizing top-down, 2D pixelated game that seamlessly blends the adrenaline-pumping thrill of action-shooting gameplay with captivating rhythm-based mechanics. As the nimble and formidable protagonist, Echo, you will navigate through intricately designed levels, unleashing a symphony of destruction upon hordes of diverse adversaries. With every movement, shot, and dodge intricately synchronized to an infectious beat, Rouge's Rhapsody promises an immersive and exhilarating experience like no other. Unleash your inner virtuoso and conquer this extraordinary fusion of rhythm and action to triumph over the rhythmic symphony of enemies that await.

The UTS Games Discipline is extremely proud of these student groups and recognises this as the first step towards a brilliant career in the Games Industry.
