A big shout out to Ubisoft for going the extra mile with the UTS Tech Festival
Big shout out to our friends from Ubisoft Australia!
As part of the UTS Tech Festival, Ubisoft Australia ran two enlightening and extremely formative events:
The Ubisoft Workshop on UX/UI Design for Games and the Ubisoft Mock Interviews (held on June 19th and 20th respectively)
The workshop
...provided a practical, real-world challenge in the form of a meta-game design. Designed for students interested in Games Development, UX Design, Software Development, Multimedia/Marketing, and Technical Art.
The 18 students who participated in this activity were tasked with developing and communicating a solution through a rapid prototype.
The prototype was then user-tested by students and industry experts, who provided valuable feedback and an overall score based on usability, comprehension and presentation.
This was a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in game design, improve their skills and collaborate with peers and industry professionals.
The mock interviews
.. gave 37 students the opportunity to hone their job interview skills. Each student was given the chance to participate for a practice interview session with a member of the Ubisoft team.
The session included an optional resume / portfolio review, as well as a brief practice interview where they were given feedback and advice to increase their employability.
